"Dammit, everyone, stop!"
Eren raised a hand, eyes flashing angrily. He rapidly sensed that the situation was growing out of control.
"When Marric returns, everyone gets their cut of the funds. After that, you will all remain here. I'm sorry to make you get settled back in, but you'll be helping repair this piece of... shack. Once I've finalized the plans, you all will be moving out with me, mercenaries. Anyone else who I've talked to who would like to is certainly free to as well."
Eren sighed, beginning to get frustrated. How hard was it to recapture a fort, for Hartmut's sake?! "Until I issue further orders, at ease. But no one leaves on pain of death."

Eren! Marric shouted, he reappeared lugging a large, yet flimsy wooden chest. He'd entered the rat-mages room and reclaimed a few of his posessions the man had taken as trophies, and found a few rather interesting pieces of armour. His father's. There was a few papers and documents, he had thrown them all into the chest where the charred armour resided. There were a few caskets full of gold pieces as well, but he was far more interested in the items he'd collected. He hadn't touched the papers, two of them were rather large, but all had been rolled up and stored in a bookshelf. He would conduct a more thorough search later, for now the chest's contents were enough for him.
I found... somethings you should be interested in. I want the armor and the two rings for myself, the papers are yours. He droppede the chest at the Dracoknight's boots. Using his axe to pry it open, he revealed a cuirass and two mismatched pouldrens, the signature pieces his father wore. On top of these were the papers he'd found before. Letting the man sort through the items, Marric turned his attention to Samuali and Alaric.
He approached the first slowly, he was obviously exhausted. He knelt down to be closer to eye level with the boy, and grasped his shoulder lightly if he wasn't stopped. Sam... You're like a brother to me, I know what I said, but I hope you reconsider. If there's anyone i want beside me, its you. He whispered softly, so that no one else could hear. I stashed your share behind the top row of Detris's book case. Its a healthy sum to be sure. He gave the lad's shoulder a brotherly pat, and stood up to approach Alaric.
don't look so sour. I may not like it, but i have to trust you and your brother. My name's Marric, son of Oeniye, although since i was being tortured by your men I expect you already knew that. He paused and gritted his teeth. He felt like a child once again, being forced by his mother to apologize to the two kids he had beaten up because they had stolen his favorite toy. So what do you say, allies? He refused to extend a hand but gave the man a nod of acknowledgement before he took off for the chest once again. He pushed aside the contents until he fished out his father's armor.
Eren, I'll meet you at sun down... I need to be alone for a few hours. With that, he trodded off with the armor in his hands, leaving the fort and people within it behind.
((Marric's done. Ryu, Samuali, Alaric, please feel free to pm me about supports))

The shaman was not frightened by the rider's threats, as he knew no one would move anyways unless they were a foolish coward. Most of those seemed to be painting the soil red at the moment. As Marric returned, he noticed quite a few of Detris' records in there. Secretly he was hoping there'd be something in there to help further his knowledge about the Elder Arts or better yet quality maps he could sell, but he wasn't really in the position to have that sort of free roaming through their conqueror's loot - even if he was extremely curious. He did his best to stand around and occupy himself with his own thoughts. He figured they'd be on the move sometime soon.

Taking another puff from his pipe, Alaric let the stress of the situation pass over him. He looked to Synkkis who was rather emotionless about the whole affair. Well, he did look a bit annoyed or impatient. That seemed like everyone else here, though.
Marric bringing a big ol' chest caught his attention as well as nearly everyone else's. After a bit of chatting, he came up to the swordsman and spoke to him. Alaric nodded in return to the axeman's attempts at camaraderie. "Honestly, I've nothing against you, Marric. We're absolutely fine from man to man."
That was that, really. What more was there to say?

"I stashed your share behind the top row of Detris's book case. Its a healthy sum to be sure."
Samauli looked at Marric with just a smile. "Thank you. I can't come because- well-" He muttered past "thank you" in a non-understandably way. He had a reason, but it had came to him very recently, and he was still unsure if he would go with it. He went off into the fort, to Detris's room. He quickly located the stash for him and it was a lot more than what he was expecting. When he fished looting it he was about to leave when a large book got his attention.
He pulled it off and opened it, and rather then pages, it was hallow with something large folded up in it. He unfolded it and much to his delight a map of the entire content with cites and towns and other points of intrest reveled itself. It was just what he could really need. He folded the map up and put it back in the book, which he added to his loot. He concealed what he had on him to the best of his ability and pocket space and returned topside.
He walked up to Eren and said his goodbye. "Well Sir, i am off. Good luck and till we met again." He then snapped to a proper salute he had been working on then headed to the exit. The horse had gone off again, not much to his surprise. It would show up again. But perhaps, he had something to do first.

"Ah, thanks, Marric." Eren bent and looked at the contents of the chest, briefly scanning the papers first, as the objects of greatest interest and importance to him. He unrolled the first of the large papers to find... Ah, yes! This was a veritable treasure trove, worth its area in gold. A waterproofed map -- not just any map -- but a topographic map of Bern with established bases and bandit hideaways. It probably wasn't 100% accurate, but there was Fort Claw. Perfect. The other large paper was yet another map, but of Etruria. Slightly less interesting. Still, they were good finds. He'd cherish them.
The other papers...? Old transaction receipts, a love letter...? Ew. Some notes to self, a few write-ups, and... Not much else of use. Wait, there was this one weird long paper. Looked like it was written in runes or something ridiculous like that.
"Okay, everyone. We'll begin distribution of funds shortly to all of you; go relax and have some fun. I'm sure you mercs have liquor somewhere, go have a good time -- but in the base, mind you.
Synkkis, could you take a look at this?"

The tactician walked over, looking into the chest full of papers. He saw the rider, Eren, tossing the papers about, trying to find anything useful to him. He himself grabbed one of the receipts and eye'd it over. Nothing too special. He was hoping for a good tome or book, but nothing to be found. Detris wasn't the studious type, he figured.
His eyes caught the runic characters on a scroll in the pile and internally his heart leaped. Any chance to get his hands on anything dealing with the Elder Arts was something to be treasured. Externally, however, he went through more receipts with a bit of boredom before grabbing the scroll when Eren's eyes were strongly focused on his topographical map. He too wanted to see it, but this was priority. He leaned up against the chest reading one of the receipts intently before stealthily stashing the scroll into his satchel. He had no time to see what it was.
Tossing the useless paper in his hand into the chest, he looked over to Eren and stood behind his shoulder to see what he was referring to. "What is it you want me to look for?" he asked, scanning his eyes across the well-drawn map.

"In the chest over there. I believe there is some sort of strange runic scroll. I thought you might appreciate it."
Turning away, Eren addressed the group one last time.
"Right, good work. We've taken the fort and defeated Detris. My troops, you are dismissed! All mercenaries are to report here in one hour."
Eren smiled as he issued the orders, his hand on his lance. They'd defeated the rat-mage, taken the fort, and his plan for rebellion was going well. What a productive journey.
