Dio was walking through Ilia, seeing if there was anything new for him to write down in his book that he was carring around. Like usual, he was doing research of Folk lore, vegetation, population, ect. for the class room of the kids back in his town. With quil and book in hands, he sat down on a down tree and began drawling of an animal that was grazing on some plants. His detail to draweling was amazing for it looked like the actual animal just jumped onto the page. Smiling to himself, he began to write. Describing the animal in words on it's behavior on what he witnessed. The creature was on all four legs, and looked much like a deer. But it's antlers were much bigger in length and width. This one creature he hadn't seen before in his many times visiting the region. Closing the book, he slid it into his satchel and began walking some more.
After walking what seemed like hours, he sat down on the side of the road to take a break. Taking out a few mint leaves, he popped them in his mouth and began to chew on them. The taste of mint was a pleasent taste to him, but his chewing stopped when he heard something approaching him. Looking around, he didn't know what it was. The only thing he knew was that it was on two legs. 'A person is getting close.'

The large Red Elk had finally made a stop in a small clearing. It was grazing, completely unaware of the two shamans. Softly, he made his way through the slush and mud towards his prey. He crouched just behind two bushes with a key-hole observation point on the elk. Silently, he pulled his tome from his satchel and focused on the large animal. He had to do this right or he could find himself in a lot of danger. Off to his left, however, he heard some sort of thump sound and then a man walking. The elk had heard this and trotted away a little bit to get distance between him and the robed man.
"Hm... Just my luck. I'll have to resume the hunt, but first..." he softly spoke to himself. Making his way through the brush, he appeared before the lone man. Synkkis looked ragged, much like most villagers up North. However, he didn't look normal, either. He had a broad red stripe across his eyes that gave off a bit of an intimidating look, but the expression behind it was nearly mute and uninterested if it weren't for his eyebrows that perked up in his general surprise. Looking on the white-robed stranger, Synkkis took a little bit to check his demeanor. He didn't expect anyone out in the sticks like this, maybe another hunter. The purple-robed shaman took a moment to let forward an honest smile. "Lost?" he asked, still holding onto his Flux tome he forgot to put back in his satchel.

Once the person approached him, Dio stood up from where he was sitting. As he stood up, he looked over the guy quickly. Taking note of the red paint stripe across his face, mostly over his eyes. The tome stood out to him. "Lost?" Would be the question asked to him. With a smile now over his face, Dio would reply. "Lost? No. I know my way around most places. I'm here doing some research for children of my village. I'm a school teacher by trade. I go out into the field, draw, write, scetch out everything that will benefit them in the long run. Long process, but worth it. Now, with that paint you have represents in different areas of A warrior in a time of war, a Hunter, or One to prove themselves. And by looking you up, I can see you use Dark arts. So which of the three are you if I may ask?"
Dio would begin to chew on the leaves in his mouth again as he took out the quil and the book. Flipping through to an Empty page. He'd sketch the man's head and drew in the facial features as well as the red paint. His drawling was rather accurate, espically for the fact that he was drawling while the man talked back. Whatever he said was his choice, he'd write it down.

The teacher had a lot to say, he noticed. He must've been used to going on and on from his time in the classroom. He noticed he was taking notes as they talked... something he couldn't find himself able to do. He wasn't really too much of a multitasker. As the man went on, he had pointed questions that made him a bit self-aware... something he wasn't too used to. He put his hand up to his face, touching the paint that covered his face. He had nearly forgotten about it. He looked down to his tome and quickly put it back in its satchel, now having a cautious and worried look on his face. "Don't be telling anyone. I know plenty of people who don't take kindly to the Elder Arts around here. It gets you mixed up with the more heinous types." he said with an alarmed, but soft voice that spoke quickly and to the point.
He squatted down, his tattered cape now resting around him as it almost seemed to fade into the environment with how drab it was if not for the odd color. Actually everything about his appearance shouted out ragged and used. To Synkkis, his clothes were just a tool. A mask. A comfort item. Something to ground him to everything around him. However around the general populace, it was the clothing of a hermit and an eccentric. The shaman grunted a bit, trying to think of what kind of titles applied to him. He wasn't ever really asked it, although he would think about it. "Warrior... Hunter... Unproven... All of them, yeah." he said after some thought, gazing at the man's boots lost a little in thought.
He snapped out of it not long after and looked back at the man, rising and walking towards him. "Hello, teacher. My name's Synkkis. My village isn't far from here. I just lost my quarry thanks to a wandering fellow." he greeted jokingly, holding his hand out to shake his. It was covered in a thin wool glove that went up much of his forearm, a few tears and tatters in it, most likely from being caught on brush.

Nodding his head as he kept writing down the information and differnt things that wasn't truly visible. "I know the feeling since many don't know what I truly am" As the man reached his arm to shake hands, Dio did the same but purposely done so that his own slevee ran up and showed the runes engraved in his very flesh. Wounds that left very nasty looking scars. Keeping his eyes on the man's, he would repl back to him with his own name. "And I'm Dio. Once a Sacrifical Child for my parents."
Letting go of Synkkis's hand, he would stuff his book into his satchel where the young pupil could see for a brief moment his own Flux Tome. Also sliding his quil inside, he would move his hand gesturing for the young man to lead the way. But before he did such, his emerald green eyes caught the Elk from before. Aiming his hand at it, he would begin to glow with a dark purple aura around him.. All of a sudden, the aura oozed off him like slime from a fearst beast. A pentagram formed underneath his prey and the tendrels of his attack entangled it and killed the creature quickly. The lifeless corpse hit the ground as Dio walked over to it. "You want to clean it out or do you want me to do such, Student?"

Synkkis maintained eye contact with Dio as they shook hands, only catching a glimpse out of the corner of his eye of the man's runic scars... ones much like his own. The shaman introduced himself, but the bit at the end sounded like he wanted pity for his past whether it was intentional or not. "Well, that itself is a blessing. There's a good reason not to trust the elder arts. It consumes everything it approaches." He paused, placing his hand on the top of his satchel, feeling the grooves in the stitching. "I suppose I'm a simple villager, then. I've been all over the East side of Elibe, though. There's no escape from the wars or monsters here in the mountains. A sad fate for your schoolchildren wherever they may be."
The red elk from earlier had made its appearance once more, Synkkis slowly reaching into his satchel to kill the creature. However, the teacher managed to kill it rather swiftly for someone who had to cast such a troublesome spell. A mixed expression of annoyance and disinterest passed the purple-cloaked shaman's face as he looked on the corpse. "It's your kill, Dio. Do what you will with it. I must find another." he said with a monotone voice, looking away.

Leaving the kill to be his, the purple-cloaked shaman moved disappeared into the brush just as silently as he had appeared - looking for another beast to slay to prove his own skills to himself. It was interesting to run into another person who carried the knowledge and had the skills of using the elder arts. The man had a defined purpose, but the Kyyneltya still had to find his. For now, he would hunt.
