So everyone has a belief or way fighting. They develop it differently be it trained for years or it feels right. It also helps to know how they fight to keep them consistent in methods. For example:
Vincent was a farm boy with no prior skills. He is not a skilled swordsman yet and has not studied under a proper teacher. He is however an observer and incorporates new methods from all sorts of warriors. Namely he learned his primary stance from watching myrmidons and a training regiment he formed by watching soldiers of various nations. His style is rough and inconsistent but you can rely in him to be a wild card trying untested skills in battle to throw his opponents off.
Lucius is a hardened veteran fighter. He holds his life as little value and fights wildly. He is quick and strong often overwhelming his opponents in sheer power. However he leaves himself open suffering wounds frequently in order to return it ten fold. If he knows he is truly outmatched he is a skilled fighter as well but when his blood boils he will become unpredictable even leaping into a charging wyvern rider.
Merric- he believes he can not lose if his coin flip is right. He believes in luck and behaves accordingly. If he thinks he'll win he will be a wild and nimble fighter, weaving in and out of the opposition he delivers blows with speed. He is lithe and a Mage but his strength over his own body is a great asset. He is out to push te limits of his magic and what one can accomplish within the restrictions of a tome.
Elaina- she is a peaceful person who abhorres violence. She doesn't fight but she is a healer and wields staves to aid her allies. She is also training as a dancer and so has been working on her nimbleness and graceful movents. Otherwise she rides her horse Peanut. She is a skillful rider but has much to learn of riding in combat.

Selibas is like most Mercs, he fights with pretty good abilities in most categories, but excels in strength. He's never been very concerned about defending himself, a product of always feeling like he has very little time to finish an opponent before another will stab him in the back, he wants to get it done quickly. HE doesn't particularly like being brutal, but he's not going down on the battle field so that the fight'll look pretty, so he's definitely the most cut you in half of my characters. He's a bit of a brawler in his style I guess.
Cen's not great at fighting yet, but he's more defense oriented (Though I plan for him to shift towards speed). He uses his lance with his hands far from each other to give him more control.
Perun is all about strength in his style, but he's also pretty skilled at the actual fighting, not just hoping he hits you once and it's hard enough to kill you. With his axe, he has very good footwork and has a talent for finding and striking weak points in people's stances. With his bow, he shoots with only two fingers holding the arrow.

Synkkis - Overly cautious and highly prefers to keep his distance. He has high magic and speed, but terrible skill. I translate this as to him popping off spells and tossing them in the general direction of the enemy like grenades. The tendrils meet to a point like a regular attack, but he keeps the radius small and controlled.
Cyril - Rarely conservative and always ready to be the first one to jump into an attack - as such he works best in numbers where there are others to compliment his chain-dog style with more deliberate and concentrated actions. It's a miracle that Cyril has survived this long being cannon fodder, but his body shows the scars. When ticked off, he loses his mind and goes into a rage.
Lucien - He only knows battle from the dueling grounds and in the large, tight packed formations from his time as an Etrurian Officer. As such he lacks in tactics and a few things other people would see as common sense in an unconventional fight. However, he makes up for this in absolute competence and skill with the spear and shield.
Landrik - Almost always exclusively military minded, he is unafraid of adapting to his situation and keeping his options open in a fight. He knows when a fight is better off not fought and when to drive home and shock the enemy full force. He's always been lucky with clean cuts to slay his targets, but he has also been unlucky in the sense of becoming wounded due to leading from the front. He never lets up in regards to anything in the field of battle even when not in the face of the enemy. This gets him a sour reputation as being a tight-ass around people who don't know him well.
Freya - She'll run away at the first sign of a fight since she can't really do anything against any possible enemies although she carries a mace with her to protect herself. In all honesty it's more of something to help keep her at ease rather than offer actual protection as she doesn't know how to properly use it.
Alaric - I notice that my brother tends to jump into fights he knows he shouldn't really be able to win but yet still performs with confidence. There is some merit in this as he's very quick, accurate, and nimble, but he lacks strength behind his attacks and once he gets hit it's tough for him to recover from it. As such he tries to win fights before they really begin. He doesn't mind pulling out of a fight just so he can re-approach it once more from a different side.

Nayru - outside of instinct, she's pretty clueless. 300 years of wandering around and avoiding trouble. Only around 200 posts in did she start seriously considering learning how to fight beyond a vague "punch things until they die" approach. She's trying to learn weapons and human-form elemental manipulation, but she's pretty noob to all of them. Once she actually gets somewhere though it'll be like a beast on the hunt, completely relentless, primarily power and speed rather than defense. She's tough enough to survive on her own a little but she's really the distraction. More Wolverine than Juggernaut though, will be very lithe and explosive post-transform arc. And at least in fights where she can let loose, there's gonna be a whoooole lotta abuse of humanform dragon powers. Veggie and I have been planning future combos between her and Veigue for a while now, pretty pumped to start getting to them.
Elesia - pretty much just pure instinct, she doesn't plan things out at all, just throws herself wholeheartedly into the fight and is just obnoxious and limber enough to be a fantastic distraction and barely survive it. She's not really good at ranged magic and probably won't be until later on when she chills out a bit, likely closer to Archsage level. Has a surprising amount of firepower in close though, it's like cannonball versus grapeshot - one of them does a whole lot of concentrated damage at range, and the other kills you and everyone in the general vicinity with maximum point-blank AoE. She also screams a lot while fighting. If the fire doesn't get you, the migraine will!
Vergil - all I'm gonna say is that he's a magic weapon fighter more than a melee fighter, and that I am more excited to actually RP his 250-300+ post fighting style than any of my other characters 'cept post-transform-arc Nayru.

Burt - Burt fights recklessly. He rushes in and attacks the target with full force. He attempts to deal as much damage as possible in the little span of time. Most of the time he does not worry about defense. This makes him a glass cannon.
Euphemious - Euphemious is a knight through and through. Euphemious takes his time when he fights and uses his shield and his armor to deflect/ block blows. He waits for a opportunity to strike and goes for it.
Djoser - Has not fought yet, but planning to have him throw around ice magic alongside horrible ice puns to do critical damage. On a side note the shield that stops critical damage also stops Djoser from making ice puns.
Borgus - Borgus despite being a brash individual fights in a very tactical manner. He prefers to get in sneak attacks and to strike his opponents weak points. He likes to use the terrain to his advantage when he fights. In a city he tries to make his opponents turn corners before he attacks and in a field he likes to position himself and his opponent between something they want to protect.
Shugo - Shugo fights weird. Shugo was originally a knight before he became a wyvern rider. He was taught how to ride by Valin, but did not learn much on aerial combat. Most of the time Shugo is fighting on the ground with his spear and uses his Wyvern Luna as a weapon. Either Shugo will distract you from Luna and then have Luna hit you from your blind spot, or Luna will distract you from Shugo, and he will hit you from your blind spot. In a one on one fight Shugo fights to stab into his opponents legs or aim for the throat.
Orcleous - Orcleous is similar to Vin. Orcleous was a farm boy kicked out from his family farm because of money problems. Orcleous has never had a true apprenticeship under a master. Oya did however learn the basics during his time with Lord Wales forces near the beginning of his story and he did learn the basics of stealth during his stay with the crimson blades. When Orcleous fights he tries to rush in and finish them off with a two hit combo. Like Burt this makes him a glass canon, but Orc tries to cover that with some decent armor.
Oya - Oya fights differently depending on what weapon he uses. When Oya fights with his twin axes he fights with speed and precision. He tries to hook parts of his enemy body and rush in and exploit openings. When he fights with Xigshaw Oya relies on power more. He tries to over power his enemy with his greater strength and prefers to make the battle focus on that aspect. He is a lot more reckless when fighting with Xigshaw, but ultimately he becomes a lightning bruiser.

Ryu: Ryu likes to watch, find a weakness, and then dance the dance of blades. No trick is too dirty; no tactic too underhanded. He'll stab you in the front or the back, whichever way you're not looking. He's not the strongest sword arm out there, but he's fast, skillful, and vicious. I see him as having almost a brutal bloodlust once he starts fighting, something that allows him to completely ignore any morals or qualms and just slay.
Willow: Ah... Well... Willow believes really, really fervently that she's doing what Elimine is commanding her to, even if it's not the moralistic, high-horse goodness that you'd expect. She likes to scare and intimidate opponents with her power and the might of the heavens.
Eren: A well-trained and highly disciplined military mind. He's always watching 'his' troops and 'theirs,' trying to find the advantage and the tactic that will best the opposition. Although trained to be a versatile combatant, he usually sticks to conventional wyvern-and-rider approaches, preferring not to do strange and unusual maneuvers.
Tamaya: Shoot until they stop moving. She's not yet a very formidable fighter, relying on rapid shots and precision aiming to make up for her lack of power. Eventually, she'll find a way to be strong, but for now, she's more of a peaceful horsewoman.
Minerva: As of yet, she's eluded my attempts to stuff her into a pigeonhole. Her style varies, although acrobatics come into play, as does her vixen personality. Still a large "?".
Locke: Locke has extensive hand-to-hand training, and uses his superhuman abilities to augment that knowledge to make him deadly. Since the Guardian's mace is (as of now) resting, he won't be honing any 'human' weapon skills for a while, although he understands the basics and rudimentary skills.
Sonneillon: Neil uses his developing cunning and his natural wariness to fight. While his magical abilities are far from developed, he has a propensity to fight more with skill and finesse than power. However, his debilitating inability to overcome his 'seizures' that occur when he draws on his full strength will have to be dealt with before he can become a true threat.

Richter A warrior through and through, Richter leaps into even the most vicious battles with little hesitation, fighting with a near unparalleled fury that strikes fear into friends and foes alike. His personal combat-style is wild and brutal, and is built around a fast, powerful offense that focuses on annihilating foes before they can fight back. Defense is typically an afterthought. That being said, Richter is a highly skilled armsman. From a young age, Richter has had the basics of swordsmanship drilled into his brain by some of the best mercenaries Ilia has to offer, and it's the internalization of these basics, combined with extensive wartime experience, that have formed the foundation of Richter's outwardly reckless martial style.
While originally trained in smaller blades, Richter has come to prefer larger, two-handed weapons that allow him to maximize his strength in splitting armor and crushing bones. The Ilian would rather go for the devastating strike rather than the clean cut, and has more recently begun to favor axes because of it. He also heavily integrates punches and kicks into his fighting style, using them to create openings for fatal blows with his weapon.
Wein At his best, Wein is analytic and thoughtful: the ideal scholar. Because of this his fighting style focuses on methodically taking enemies out from a distance with calculated attacks, and he prefers taking his time to plan out his shots. He is among the best marksmen in Lycia. But the glory hog in Wein is prone to taking overly-complicated, sometimes extemporaneous shots that will often whiff an otherwise easy target. Combine this with his fear of fighting in close quarters, and Wein has a tendency to turn simple fights into an outright hassle. Always the hero, he will never shy away from a fight to protect others, but when alone he would rather run.
Wein fights with a bladed-bow, and although improving, he's not particularly good at using it, though that is due more to his own panic in melee combat than it is the weapon itself. Still, he figures that if he's going to get attacked up close, he might as well have something sharp and pointy attached to his weapon of choice. It also looks really cool.
Saturos Saturos's true specialties are disguise and espionage, and will almost always avoid outright combat if given the choice. This fact, however, belies his mastery of the sword. A dueling expert, he was traditionally trained in the Sacaen art of Iaijutsu, a quick attack centric sword style focused on countering and surprising opponents. When forced to draw his blade Saturos prefers to strike preemptively, ending fights before they begin. On a battlefield, however, the Etrurian is at a disadvantage, and will always retreat to a more advantageous position if he finds himself overwhelmed. He sees no shame in survival, and finds no honor in death.
Saturos's has a pair of swords he prefers to fight with. The first, a two-handed falchion of Lycian origin, is the swordsman's go-to weapon. With its curved edge and reach, it excels at the powerful killing stikes Saturos prefers, but lacks versatility due to its weight and single-edged design. Thus to compensate, the second, a shorter jian, is a double-edged straight blade of Sacaen origin. It's light weight and shape provide certain dueling advantages over the falchion, but don't take advantage of the swordsman's larger stature.
Edward Edward fights like a soldier, disciplined, regimented, and cautious. Originally trained in the sword and lance arts of a knight, he utterly lacks the flair and showmanship that typifies the combat style of many a mage. The older Etrurian squares off against opponents with a balance of offense and defense, preferring a safe, straight forward approach to combat that is typical of someone of his experience and age. He does not enter a battle without considering his options, and will willingly forfeit a battle if he believes it will allow him to win a war. In a duel he fights with the honor and dignity of his station, dismissing trickery and underhanded tactics as tools of the weak and craven.
Edward’s primary weapon is a long, iron rod that doubles as a walking stick. The weapon is durable, versatile, and deadly in his hands, complimenting the knight’s judicious applications of magic in combat. In terms of spells, Edward prefers straight-forward magic that can quickly and efficiently remove enemies from combat. As such, his spell crafting sticks to what he knows: martial skill. The old knight's magic often resembles his knightly weapons of old, crafting blades out of flame and summoning up lances made from radiant light to be hurled at his enemies. Many of his Etrurian political contemporaries, including the head of the Delphian Magical College, have deemed him an uncreative boor, too busy training his body when he should be expanding his mind, but his soldiers have always felt at home fighting beside him, and for Edward that is enough.
Jabal Once the ruler of a dragon clan whose territory spanned from the Western Isles to the most eastern mountains of Nabta, Jabal is no stranger to power. In fact, as a fighter, he relies solely on it. The largest of dragons, he fights with sheer, overwhelming power, using singular, powerful blows to crush scales and rend flesh. When combating another dragon, Jabal will never hesitate to close the gap, throwing himself against larger opponents with incredible force in an attempt to grapple with and overpower them. His breath, a veritable sandstorm, can level whole regiments of men, and along with his immense tail, is his primary method of combating humans. In human from, Jabal’s combat style varies little. Jabal towers over almost all, and uses his draconic strength, combined with great reach, to grab and subdue opponents, breaking them in his hands. Knowing his strength, he would prefer to keep an opponent in his sphere of influence by grappling rather than throwing punches or kicks. When that fails, however, the dragon is also notorious for using improvised weapons, and has wielded trees, boulders, and even humans as melee and projectile weapons in combat.
