Sarah had founded a group with Wei and Giles and all of them went our for a journey together, each with their own reasons for coming along on this journey. After the group had gotten everything they needed they left to their first stop at the land of Pherae. Sarah was interested in what she could find while she was staying at Pherae and hoped to get any records of knowledge that she could learn so she would have stuff to write about when she finally returned back to her home in Ilia.
Sarah broke out of thought and looked ahead on the road and wanted to make sure they were on the right course and looked at both Wei and Giles asking them both if they were heading the right way to Pherae.
"Um do any of you have a map on where to go next, I don't have one on me when I first arrived here so I'm hoping one of you two have one that we can both use."
Sarah looked back over at the road walking forward down the road, waiting for one of them to speak up and went back to thinking to herself.
*This is going to be great, so much stuff to learn from this place but it takes so much time to get anywhere, well at least the roads will be alot safer with these two with me now.*
Sarah began to speak to her two companions.
"So anyone got any good stories that want to share to past the time?"

So here the three of them were, on the road. So far it had been a quite journey. That was good thing, but for Wei it was a bad thing. He wanted to test his metal a bit, but he did not fancy being ripped to pieces by hell hounds, so he was content. So far they did see a few of the beasties. However other groups had already taken care of them or was in the process of finishing them off. It was crazy now a days. You can't throw a stick without hitting a zombie or a hell hound. Somebody was going to need to do something about this soon or they were going to be knee deep in monsters before they knew it. This entire thought span about monsters made Wei wonder what in the world was going on in Ostia. It was not until Ostia fell that the monsters appeared. Before that there were none, but after it there were plenty. Was there some kind of pact with the gods or were the beast sealed away under the city. No one knows, but chaos now filled the Lycian League.
"Stories", spoke Wei as he began to think back into his mind. He did not really have any interesting stories. Most of his adventures were quite bland. Well there was that one time.
"Well there was this one time, when I meet a strange girl. I mean she was really weird. She used dark magic and had blonde hair. Well she decided that one day she was going to go to the outskirts of Ostia. Now that was a foolish decision considering she was nothing more than a pupil. however I had been suckered into going to try to save her. You can call it foolish youth pride", spoke the boy as he continued to tell his story.

Giles rode upon Aurochs at a fairly leisurely pace. The roads were typically safe, but he was still keeping an eye out for highwaymen. Sarah brought up an inquiry about a map. What an oversight. How could Giles have forgotten to bring a map. Sure he knew the way to Pherae well enough, but what if something unexpected happened and he needed to be prepared. Giles spoke up his regret. " It is a shame, but I seem to have forgotten to purchase a map. I know how to get to Pherae and I have a working knowledge of the surrounding area. But you are correct bringing a map would've been very useful." Giles almost wanted to smack himself on the side of the head for his foolishness. He let out a sigh, it was a little too far to return to Laus, not that Giles would want to go there, and they weren't terribly close to Santaruz either. No matter, if we're lucky we can pick one up from a travelling merchant.
Sarah then asked about stories that her two companions had. Sure Giles was a middle aged man with some stories he would call interesting, but he waited for Wei's response. Wei spoke of a trip to Ostia, him and a pupil. That was foolish. Sure enough Wei went on to claim it was foolish himself. "So you entered Ostia without proper protection? I can only imagine how it turned out. But please continue Sir Wei." Any information about the corrupted lands of Ostia could help him in his future bodyguard endeavors. Perhaps there would be a young cleric who wanted to go there to study, for example. Giles listenned for Wei to continue his story while still keeping an eye out for any signs of danger.

Sarah had heard that they didn't have a map to use as a guide and without a map she began to worry about some crazy things such as accidentally running into a bandit camp or have a run in with a group of monsters but waste broken out of the mode when Giles said he knew where to go and Sarah made a sigh in relief and began to speak.
"Well at least we know where we are going right, right? Also let's not forget to buy a map when we get the chance ok guys?"
After getting that problem taken care of she wanted to see if anyone had any stories they wanted to share and saw that Wei was the first one to share their stories and heard of him going to Ostia and being the young girl adventurer she is, Sarah was hooked on the story and wanted to hear more of the Boy's tale.
"Well aren't all shaman's weird anyway, I wonder what goes on in those minds of theirs. But what happened next, did you fight any monsters?"
Sarah was going to keep on rambling on what she wanted to know from the story until something caught her ear. There was something moving in the nearby trees and Sarah didn't know what could be hiding in those trees, her first guess was bandits but decided to tell everyone else about what she heard and get an idea on what they should do.
"Guys I think there's something hiding out in those trees, should you guys try to deal with it now or want to just move abit faster and hope it goes away, or I am just hearing things, but it's up to you two on what we should do?"

"Well as we turned the corner...", spoke Wei as he was getting to the best part of his story. However the sudden movement in the bushes had caused him to stop. The first to notice was the maiden, of all people. Here Wei was suppose to be the guardian and he was not the first one to notice danger. The young boy felt a chunk of his pride get chizzled away. Still that was a wound he would have to deal with later. At the moment there was a problem that needed to be solved. There was a possibility of a enemy, and Wei wanted to fight it. In his mind it would be better to take out the enemy before hand rather than let it get behind them. For all they knew more enemies could be up ahead planning ambush on them. This enemy could strike at their back sealing there doom.
"I say we investigate", spoke Wei as he drew his two axes. With the brave axe in his right hand Wei pointed toward the bush. He would have charged forward by now, but he had made a promise earlier to let the old man direct battle. With that in mind Wei held his ground. If the only guy agreed then he could make his move. If the old guy told him to hold he would complain, but eventually follow orders. To be honest though Wei was looking for a fight. It would be a great opportunity to prove his worth. So far they have not had a battle together. That meant that everyone was in the dark on everyone's combat expertise. It was about time Wei showed them that he was more than twice the warrior that they thought he was. His axes would claim the head of there first enemy, he could feel it.

So it began. Sarah believed she had seen motion in the treeline. Wei immediately opted to investigate. It was fine with the great knight if they got into a fight right now. Highwaymen were typically no strong foes, they would sooner prefer to strongarm merchants than to fight fair. "Investigate all you wish, but just to be safe, Sarah grab your staff, and stay close." Giles was allowing Wei to move ahead, he seemed prepared enough with his two axes drawn. If the kid was as strong as he thought he was, he should be able to survive a blow or two. This would give more than ample time for him to mount a charge and rout any threat there may be.
As things were, even if Wei were to be injured, the cleric could heal him in a timely manner. Likely before any lasting damage could be done. Giles held in place for a moment to allow Sarah to grab her staff, he then drew his hand axe. A good, quick toss could end the engagement before it even began. But Giles still wasn't sure if that would be necessary. He hadn't seen any movement, but it was best to leave no stone unturned in situations like this. Lest some lucky thief get the drop on them. Giles held his eyes on the area in question. "Take care on approach and worry not, I am right behind you." Giles nodded his head toward Wei in an attempt to signify his faith in the young axe wielder.

Sarah could tell that Wei was looking to get into a fight and was the first to make a move, while Giles told her to get her staff and get back, which Sarah did as combat is something she doesn't like being in. After getting back and watched Wei and told him.
"Don't get yourself killed out there ok? I'll be here to heal you when it's over."
Sarah then felt that she was worrying too much about what could be in the bush but her over cautious nature has help her in the past before and hoped it would still help her during their journey. Sarah held onto her staff, ready to move out of the way should something come out to attack them.
The bush moved again, which everyone could easily tell that someone was there, waiting to attack and then the bush suddenly stopped moving and stood silent, after a few seconds of silence from the bush two figures jumped out of the bush, one carrying a sword and another carrying an axe and could be seen that the two figures were just some bandits that were looking to rob some traveling groups on the road and then they began to make demands to the three.
"Alright listen up you lads, no one pasts this road without paying the fee, if you can't pay the fee then this sword of mine gonna become real close friends with you guys, so what's it gonna be?"
Sarah watched as the two bandits made there demands and Sarah didn't want to pay them anything as bandits are known to lie and just kill people that would even pay the fee anyway but she left that choice up to the other two.

"Alright lets see what the enemy has", growled Wei as he slammed both of his axes together. The fearsome journeyman's crimson eyes stared into the bush anticipating the enemy that would soon emerge. He was ready for a battle, be it undead or dragon, Wei was sure he could take it. Giles and Sarah seem to be of a different mind. They seemed to think that the young boy was going to get himself seriously injured or killed. The two of them had not even seen him swing his axe for the first time and they were already doubting him. Wei simply shrugged it off thought. What they thought of him would not turn the battle in the enemy favor nor would it give him any great advantage. It was all up to him and his own actions.
As the young man prepared to charge two brigands hopped out the bushes. Wei was a bit disappointed when he laid eyes on them. In his mind it was going to be a monster, and a fearsome one at that. Wei was planning on a fearsome battle. Instead they got a very common bandit. Needless to say Wei was not thrilled. Monsters, despite being powerful, were far easier to fight. They were all about power and had very little if any technique. People on the other hand are different. They are devious, planners, and one can not truly judge there strength till there was a weapon in the hand.
The bandits began to make demands, but Wei had toned them out. He was to busy thinking to himself to listen to there rammbling. "Alright" jumped Wei as he prepared himself for a fight. The boy slammed the heads of both of his axes together and then moved to his attack. "You see that, this is your problem knight. You are far to cautions. Throw danger into the wind and fight with everything you got.", spoke Wei as a wolfish grin crossed his face. The young journeyman sprinted forward at full speed. His eyes were focused on a single point, his target enemy weapon. "Chesto" he screamed at the top of his lungs as Wei threw himself thought the air. With the force of his entire body Wei brought his twin axes down toward his opponent's head. The young boy had purposely chosen the swordsmen to attempt a battle. He understood that the blade had a advantage over the axe, Wei himself wanted to know the difference and then change it where his weakness was now his advantage. However achieving that level of combat expertise would requite hundreds of hours of fighting against enemies wielding swords.

Giles was not surprised by the two bandits that leapt from the brush. He had expected as much one sword, one axe neither were impressively armored. The criminals began making demands, that certainly wasn't going to fly. Wei began running his mouth about throwing caution to the wind. Giles spoke over him with a tinge of disapproval in his tone. "Focus on the task at hand, Sir Wei." Giles wound up and chucked his handaxe at the axe wilder. The axe missed it's mark, barely, slicing the brigand's left ear off. Blood poured from the wound, Giles grunted as he drew his axereaver.
That brigand would not be a plague to this path for much longer. Giles leveled his weapon and lined it up with his target as he had thousands of times before. Giles placed a swift kick on his steeds rear to send Aurochs into a strong gallop. It didn't take long to reach his target. The brigand was in experienced and already off his game from the axe wound. He tried to side step the charge. Giles extended his lance through the mans abdomen. It was a quick and clean stroke that dropped the foe almost instantly. The body crumpled to the ground and slip off of Giles' axereaver.
Giles let out a call to Aurouchs to signify he would need to turn around. Giles' eyes were now lining up the swordsman that Wei was engaged with. Giles wouldn't be able to charge this one, not without risk of injury to the journeyman. Giles and Aurochs trotted towarf the opponent. A couple thrusts near the swordsman should help give Wei the advantage here.

The sword wielding bandit was able to block Wei's attack and pushed him back and took a battle stance and took a swing at the boy, aiming to cut his arm off and began to shout out at Wei.
"Stupid kid, if you had just paid the fee you could walked away from this but guess you picked being impaled at the end of my sword, now die already!"
While the sword bandit was busy fighting Wei the axe bandit wanted to try taking a shot at grabbing the Cleric but before he even made a move it was hit with Giles's Axe and he took a battle stance, ready to fight the Great knight but he had no chance of beating the knight in a battle and was killed by the knight's axereaver. After seeing that his partner was killed by the knight and he knew that fighting both of them would be lead to his death the sword bandit backed off of Wei and started to run away to the same bushes that the two had came out of and yelled at the two.
"Don't think this is over, my boys won't stand for this and they'll find you lot and we'll run you all into the ground!"
After giving off his threat the bandit ran away and Sarah sighed in relief that the fighting was over and now she wanted to make sure both of them we're unharmed.
"Are both of you alright?"
Though just as she asked them that question the sound of the same bandit that attacked them was screaming in pain then there was silence, then something else was coming their way and Sarah began to worry about what was coming and what came was a revenant that was attracted by the sounds of fighting and the smell of blood and now was looking for more blood to spill and Sarah stared at the thing that had came out and said under her breathe.
"So this is the monsters that I have been hearing about...I hope we make it out of this unharmed."

"Chesto", roared Wei as he body came down following his axes. The bandit with the blade could hardly believe the foolishness of the young lad. If he wanted to he could run the boy through with is blade, but at the same time however Wei's body weight and axes would drive his own blade home probably killing him. So in this situation it was more like a game of chicken. Who was going to yield. The bandit valued his own life far more than he hated Wei. Taking a side step the bandit avoided the blow from Wei. The journeyman's axes came down just short of his target and found themselves implanted into the dirt. The bandit then moved for a fearsome counter attack that would have taken off Wei's arm. The Journeyman however fell backwards, his body barely dodging the blade. The steel longsword slicked a line across his arm, but it was nothing more than a flesh wound.
Wei grunted a bit as he took damage from his opponent's blade. He did not think that the sword would was too deep, but it still hurt like crap. However Wei had more important things to worry about. The swordsmen came in now attempting to capitalize on his advantage. As he swung his blade to the right Wei was forced to take a step back. The sword blade barely missed, but that was what Wei wanted. The Journeyman rushed in and began to attack with his axes. The swordsmen however blocked and countered the axe slashes as they came in. It was only natural, the sword had a advantage against the axe and he was far more skilled in battle than his opponent. He would have turned the boy's own ferocity against him, but the sudden addition of the mounted knight made him pull off.
"Don't think this is over, my boys won't stand for this and they'll find you lot and we'll run you all into the ground!" With that threat the bandit rushed into the bushes and began to retreat.
"Oh no you don't", screamed Wei as he moved to give chase. Wei was not going to let the brigand get away. Ignoring everything else in the world Wei moved to give chase. However as the young boy rushed forward his foot slammed into a rock. The blow threw him off balance and ended up with Wei taking a face first plunge into the dirt.
"Ouch", spoke Wei as he pulled himself off the ground. His face was now as red as his hair, not from pain, but embarrassment. Soon however Wei's little embarrassment meant little. The screams of agony filled the air as the man he wanted to give chase too gave off his death wail. "What in the world", spoke Wei as he brushed the dirt off himself. Suddenly from the bush came a member of the undead family.
"Oh, shi...", screamed the journeyman, but the beast assault cut hum short. The creature rushed forward with a speed one did not expect from a shambling corpse. Its claws lashed out at the young journeyman aiming to sink into his throat. Lucky for Wei this was not the first time he had seen such a beast, nor was it his first time fighting it. As the beast swung its claw's Wei swung his axes. It took two hands for Wei even to attempt to match the beast power and even still the monster manage to knock his iron axe out of Wei's hand. The blade flew off into the distance and landed next to the priest. Wei however was still alive.

Wei pursued their attacker.Sure. Thought Giles. It was better that they killed the bandit now, rather than allow him to return with reinforcements. Giles turned his head to make sure the cleric was still in good condition before following the two on his horse. Initially, he remained a length behind Wei, to allow the young journeyman to get more combat practice in. However, the young one stumbled and fell on his face with a thud. Giles shook his head but said nothing. There were more important things at hand. Giles continued to follow, that is until he heard an unexpected scream and a creature shambling toward them.
Giles called ahead to Wei. "Wei fall back to Sarah, these things tend to move in groups. Keep her safe, I'll handle this one." Giles believed Wei could handle the revenant, but this was an unexpected turn of events. Giles knew he could slay the creature faster than the journeyman, and someone had to return to the cleric's side in case there were more unseen enemies about. Giles pulled Aurochs up around the creature's flank. He thrust his lance twice at the creature's torso to cover Wei if he attempted to retreat. The motions of the lance seemed to pierce the creature's flesh without resistance. The rotten flesh fell off the creature's bones, but it remained animated. Giles yanked Aurochs' reins to pull the horse away from the creature's clawed arm.
Giles led the armored steed around in an arc and urged it into a gallop. Giles came up on the revenant once again, with speed. A final lance thrust connected with the creature's skull, obliterating it. The creature slumped to the floor. Giles scanned his immediate vicinity and looked toward Sarah to see if any more revenants were nearby.

Sarah watched in worry as she saw Wei getting attack by the monster and saw that his iron axe had been knocked out of his hand and sent flying at her, caused her to panicked at the sight of the axe coming to her, making her fall over onto the ground, only for the axe to just land right next to her. After sighing in relief that she was ok, she looked over at Wei to see if he was alright but before she could say anything she saw that Giles had moved up and told Wei to back away from the monster and make sure Sarah was ok, which she fine and unharmed, only a little worried at what the monster was going to do next.
Sarah heard from Giles that these monsters tend to move in groups, if that was true then Sarah didn't want to be here any longer and wanted to get to Pherae and safety as fast as possibly. Sarah got back up and made sure she had everything on her still and watched as Giles battled the monster and saw the knight jab him with his lance only to see that it didn't stop it at all, only when Giles ran it through the head with his lance is finally when the monster went down and Sarah sighed for a second only for her to yell out to the group.
"Are both of you alright? If so we should all get moving now before more of those things show up and attack."
Sarah was beginning to understand why these things were feared out in the lands and she just wanted to get out of here and reach the safety of the city.

Dang it, thought Wei as the beast disarmed him. The Journeyman was not starting off on a good note. On the upside however Wei had two weapons. As the beast knocked the iron axe clear of his hand Wei reached down and pulled out his brave axe. The creature had swung its arms moving for another strike, but Wei's brave axe was faster. The weapon struck the claw first, but this time favor shinned on Wei. He had stuck the monster arm before it reached its full swing and as a result the force was far weaker. The claw was deflected and Wei was ready to try a counter attack. However the order came from the old knight for Wei to pull back. The journeyman wanted to fight, but he made a promise back in the town.
"Dang it I can handle him", shouted Wei as he pulled back from the beast with all haste. The creature lunged forward attempting to strike at the boy. However the great knight had added himself into the fight and taken over. With him at his back Wei was sure that he would not have to worry about getting claws from behind, well for now. If things moved like they usually did then a few more of them would be popping out of the wood works. If that was true then Wei was going to need to be ready. Rushing back over to the cleric Wei reached down and picked up his iron axe. "Sorry about that", he chucked with a sly smile. He was glad that the weapon had missed. It would be a hard subject to talk about if his axe had done in the person he swore to protect.
As the last blow was delivered to the head Wei expected more of the undead to come rushing out of the woods. This day however that seemed to not be true. The creatures were either still hiding or they was just only one. Only one remnant was a hard thing for Wei to believe, but it was possible.
"I am fine", spoke Wei as he placed his two axes back in his iron rings. "I could have taken it by the way", spoke Wei toward the Great Knight.

Giles returned to the group after he no longer perceived any threat. Sarah suggested that the group continue forward. "Agreed, let's get moving." Giles responded after gathering up his thrown hand axe. Wei began to suggest that he could've handled the revenant on his own. The great knight saw this conversation coming from a mile away and he had little patience for it. "I am going to make this very clear Sir Wei. If I give you an order in combat, you are to follow it, no questions asked. And I don't want to hear any complaints about it either. I would have you trust my experience." Giles was stern in his speech almost too much so. He knew the kid probably could've taken out a single revenant. He gave the order to make sure they would have the highest chance of survival. All three of them. They had to take the zombie out quickly in order for both of them to be near the healer.
Giles rode ahead. He took a moment to himself before sighing. He turned his head to the group and spoke. "You will have your time. Both of you are still young. Soon. Sooner than you would expect, the world will come to you, asking for your help. Pleading for it. Then you will be tested. Pass and become glorious. Or fail and be forgotten." Giles sighed again after that last part. " But trust me, a couple highwaymen and a single walking corpse are not your tests. I'm sure you two are meant for something much grander."
