Yaen stopped as he reached the bottom of the stairs, but did not turn to face the boy. "I heard you talking up there." he stated matter-o-factly. "And you're right. I can tell just by looking at you. The way you use that sword must be laughable." Yaen rested his right hand on the hilt of the sword on his right hip. "However, I am pleased by your determination to improve." he added. "It reminds me of someone I once knew...He was a little like you. Young, inexperienced, a little foolish even..." Yaen turned his head just far enough to look at the boy out of the corner of his right eye. "I can teach you."

Dismissing himself from Mikar, Kelvin approached Chelsea, "Well, it looks like everybody is in good hands now. What do you say we go for a walk, see some of the sites that aren't... well you know, ruined." Kelvin said as he extended a hand to her.

It is, I can barely swing it correctly. He smiled a bit sadly and shook his head. "You're right, I'm an insult to the sword. Some wielders are insulted by their weapons, I am the opposite." He too rested his hand on the sword hilt tied to his hip, also on his right as he wields it left-handedly. "My want to get better isn't just a want, it's a promise." It's a promise to me, Chelsea, and to Fang. To most people it might be silly to refer to a weapon as if it was a living being, but to him, a smith, it wasn't.
He listened to him reminisce and managed a slight smile. I... got the foolish part down pat, that's for sure. Then his sudden offer was a bit unexpected. He barely knew the man, and he still never told him his name. In fact it was like he just ignored him and only focused on what he wanted. That would mean, oddly enough, he wanted to teach him. He didn't understand the reason, or the intent, but he did appreciate the chance. To get better with the sword... He wanted that greatly. "You, want to teach me?" He said, in stereotypically 'who me?' fashion.
While he couldn't rightly say no... not after he made a huge deal about the desire to get better, he didn't know this man, or know how he fought. He could be a novice himself for all Val knew. Though he could tell that wasn't the case, the way he moved earlier, running into the buidling. He wasn't a novice. This could also be a chance to get a closer look at the Wyrmslayer... Still, he would wait for his response before saying anything else.

Chelsea smiled at him. "I'd really like that." She took his hand lightly and followed him. She kept her eyes up at all the buildings as they walked. She still wasn't used to all these big buildings. She missed the flat expanse of the plains, but these buildings were still interesting to look at. "I always feel so small in these cities..."

"I know what you mean. Caelin wasn't exactly a sprawling city, and I didn't live in the town itself. Still these big cities are nice, so full of people. Besides this is a city famed for its cavaliers," he said, chuckling a little, "This is my kinda place."

Yae gave him the slightest of nods. The normally carefree face of the overly-philosophical swordsman was now as serious and hard as stone. "To pass ones wisdom down to another, to teach and learn, that is the goal of all who walk in the ways of the sword." he stated. "The path is long and hard, but if you are willing, I will show you the way." The Sacaen held out his hand. "Take my hand, and I will show you. Turn your back, and we will never speak of this again. The choice is yours."

Chelsea giggled and looked up at him. "I bet you're the best cavalier in this city." She gave him a playful wink. "That isn't from this city, that is." She giggled again and ran ahead of him. "Gonna let me get away with that?" She called back as she skipped again and giggled again. She knew it was only a matter of time before he ran after her and that's when the fun would begin.

He was... hesitant to say the least. It wasn't that he was afraid of working hard, his bloody hands are proof that he's not. No, it was the total lack of information about the whole thing. He didn't know this man, he didn't know how he fought, he didn't even know if he could learn anything. The last few days has all been a blur of action, emotion, and depression. Starting from leaving the ranch, to that wink from Chelsea. Everything has been a blue of Chaos.
Chaos... that reminded him. That picture he drew. He felt chaos everywhere with in, but in it was an object the stood out from it. Maybe... Now is the time not to over analyze and rationalize everything, but rather a time to act on faith. He had to believe things would work out, even if everything pointed to no. He rose his hand slight and reached ever so slowly, his hand trembling the whole way. About halfway there, his expression change to one of determination and he quickly grabbed the Sacaen man's hand.
Well everything else in the universe seemed hellbent on making him feel bad and depressed, what harm could this be?

Kelvin sighed and rolled his eyes as Chelsea ran off. He gave her a bit of a head start. She was gonna need it. Kelvin slowly counted down in his head. As he got closer to zero, the sound of horse hooves got louder and louder. Right as he hit zero in his head, he jumped and did a backflip, landing on Kashmir's back. Kelvin quickly closed the gap between him and Chelsea, and as he pulled alongside her, he said, "Who's a bad cavalier now?"

Chelsea giggled. "I never said you were a bad cavalier. I just said you may not be the best." She grinned up at him as she ran. "But, it's gonna take more than a horsey to catch a Sacaen." She gave him another wink and slipped down an alley way. She skipped happily down it, waving back to Kelvin as she slipped down another. This was already fun.

As Chelsea slipped down an alleyway, Kelvin leaped off of Kashmir's back and he grabbed onto a window sill. He began to climb his way up the building, and he quickly made it to the rooftops. He saw her duck into another side alley, and Kelvin quickly followed after, jumping from rooftop to rooftop.

Chelsea heard Kelvin above her. She sighed, that cut off her first plan. Still, she would make do. She slipped down a few more alleys as she heard Kelvin follow. Then, she silently doubled back. Giggling to herself and with a plan in mind, she slipped back the way she came, making sure to be as silent as she could.

A lot had happened in the past hour. After the doctors arrived, they'd help organize the people in the crowd into teams to help clear away the rubble and search for survivors. Much to Harlow's delight, Mikar was found, along with the Lady Saffra! There was no sign of the dragon, which meant it had probably transformed back into human form, and since the only body near Mikar's was Saffra's... it only took Harlow moments of questioning to learn from the others that Saffra was indeed the manakete. He wondered how he hadn't realized this before. He'd have to thank her for her valiant efforts when he saw her next.
It had been soon after the discovery of Mikar and Saffra that Harlow had finally remembered the poor mage kid trapped in the well. When he ran back to lift the boy out, he was still unconscious. The doctors had taken him to the clinic, where Harlow had asked that he be notified upon his awakening. Since then, Harlow had been helping with the rescue effort. But now, the task was finished. Pretty much everybody had made it out alive, with the exception of a soldier named Tihn whom Harlow hadn't met. Lady Lucy had been found too - a little worse for the wear, but all right. All in all, things had turned out all right. Interestingly, there had been no sign of Sir Chester's corpse. Maybe it had been smashed into so many pieces it was unrecognizable...
Now, Harlow walked into the clinic to see who was awake. He'd been pronounced fine after minimal healing, and was thankful that he'd gotten away with so little injury, but some of the others hadn't been so fortunate. In the hallway he came across Mikar and Gabriel. "Hey! Mikar!" he called, approaching the man with a smile, "You're okay! Gad, you worried us all back there! What a foolish thing to do, taking down an entire building with you!" He chuckled and almost gave the pirate a playful smack on the head, but he stopped himself, remembered the man had just nearly died. "And Gabriel, glad to see you made it out as well. What the hell was the deal with that back there, anyways? The dragon - that is, Saffra - boy, you went flying out of the building faster than a stone from a sling!"
"Speaking of Saffra, where is she? I'd like to talk to her at some point, and see if she's ok..."

Kelvin was slightly confused at first, thinking he had lost her. Then he saw movement out of the corner of his eye. There she was. Kelvin moved quietly towards the edge of the roof right as she passe under he dropped down behind her, grabbing her and pulling her in. "I win," he said, laughing a little.

Chelsea squirmed around in his arms. "Noooooooo. I wanted to win!" She pouted in his arms and she squirmed about. Her plan, her beautiful plan! She was supposed to climb up behind him on the roof and tackle him! She was supposed to win. "It's not faaaaaaaaair. You ruined my plan! I was supposed to get you! When did you get so sneaky?" She pouted more as she looked up at him. By this point, she had stopped squirming and had taken to just looking up at him. "I get to win next time, ok?"
