He sat in that hall along with everyone else, his legs slightly spread apart, his arms resting on his knees and his hands hanging down in the gap between them. He looked at the ground, a slight wry smile on his face, his brow knitted as everyone was reuniting around him. He didn't really know any of these people that well, and it wasn't his spot to try to greet them like an old friend. Despite that, he was massively relieved at their safety. Almost everyone that entered with him came out, and a surprising number of mages made it out as well.
Lady Lucy hadn't been accounted for yet, but she was stronger then anyone else here, if anyone would make it, it was her. He didn't worry, he knew she was fine. Mikar, Harlow, Sir Gabriel, and Wyatt all made it out fine, and he was glad for that. Lifting up a bandaged hand, he stared at the white and red stained cloth on it. He cut his hands badly when he was clearing rubble, even when he should of stopped he continued to move stone, wood, and glass. He was offered medicine for it, but he passed, seeing as those others needed it so much more then him.
"Y-you... blacksmith..." He heard a familiar voice. He picked up his head to see a badly torn up Lady Lucy, ripped robes and holding her side in pain. Blood was on her face, and she looked pained. "Everyone... did everyone make it?"
"Lady Lucy!"
"Please... tell me..." She breathed heavily.
"Richard! We got another in here!" The nurse shouted to the doctor.
The nurse rushed over to her and with her healing staff and began to work her magic. While she did that, Valcrist answered he question. "Almost everyone lived... But I'm afraid a soldier didn't make it. It was the one with short black hair and the goatee." He said quietly, looking away. That was the same soldier that saved him earlier in the building... he felt horrible not even knowing his name.
"Dammit... Sir Tihn... His family in Santuraz..." She said through a pained expression.
"Don't get worked up, your wounds will reopen." The nurse lectured her as she healed. The doctor came in the room.
"I just cleared a bed, bring her in and I'll take a closer look." He told her and the nurse nodded.
"No... Use it for someone else... I can help, I can heal. I know how to use a staff..."
"Like that you won't help anyone. All you'd do is get in the way. Come on, come with me." She was strict, but at the same time sympathetic to the mage knight. A reluctant Lucy nodded, she was right... In that condition she couldn't help anyone. The nurse lead and Lucy followed, staggering along.
Val didn't know what happened, and why she had been gone since now... He'd have to ask later. But he was happy to see that she was ok... "So... it was Sir Tihn was it?" He said, looking at the ceiling. "Thank you, and rest in peace..."

Kelvin saw Mikar from the corner of his eye and went to greet him, "Mikar! You're alive! That was a downright foolish thing you did back there, but I guess it really helped us. And Yaen! Great swordsmanship back there, that was truly amazing!"

Chelsea smiled as Kelvin walked over and greeted Mikar and Yaen. She looked around to see who else was there. Val! She hadn't even noticed him, then her stomach dropped. She had completely ignored him earlier as soon as Kelvin came in and she felt horrible. She made her way over to the novice, giving him a warm smile. "Hey, Val. I'm sorry about earlier... I got all caught up. Do you forgive me...?" She really hoped he did.

"Yeah. It's ok." He said, almost deadpan. "You kinda ignore everything once Kelvin is involved." A short, almost nervous, chuckle. And I'm definitely no exception. "I'm just happy so many people got out alive." He added with a smile. Valcrist palmed the hilt of the sword, the cloth covering it being lost a while ago. "And Lady Lucy even made it out." He closed his eyes and smiled. "We should all be happy that it wasn't as bad as it could of been. I think a lot of the mages made it out too. It's always a good thing when lives are saved." He couldn't even kill someone when it came down to it...

Chelsea sat down next to him. "You're right, we should be happy. There are so many things that we all could have been killed..." She shook her head, she didn't want to think about it. She looked over at Valcrist. "And you saved me." She gave him a big smile. "I'm sorry about the whole ignoring everyone when Kelvin's around thing. I'm gonna try to not get as distracted from now on." She paused a second. "I never really got to say thank you, you know." She leaned over and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you for saving my life, Val."

He sighed. He would of gotten excited over such a thing any other time. But he knew what it was, and what it was not. Yeah, abandon all hope over such a thing. All it does is bring me sadness. She has Kelvin locked up so tightly in her heart that even the strongest dragon couldn't break it. "I'm happy you're ok." He stood and stood a bit away from Chelsea. He did want to be right by her right now, lest he fall into a slump again. "I'm happy everyone's ok. How are you feeling?" He lifted a bandaged hand and slightly felt the spot she kissed before letting it fall again.

Yaen looked up at the old pirate. "Oh, most definitely." He agreed, trying to hold back a grin. "How's ummm...Uhhh....I'm sorry, I don't think I even know her name... The girl with light violet hair."

Chelsea gave a little nod. "I'm doing much better, thanks." She gave a little smile as he touched where she had kissed. He was pretty cute. Then, when she saw the bandage on his hand, she tilted her head. "When did you hurt your hand? I don't remember that being there earlier..." She looked up into his face, concerned.

"Oh, this?" He looked at his hand for a moment, tilted his head slightly then looked at Chelsea. "I cut my hands when I was sorting through the debris..." He gave a short chuckle. "It was pretty bad before, because of all the grime and filth getting into it. I kept digging even when they were raw and bloody. I actually helped find Mikar..." He said with a thoughtful look on his face, staring at his hand again. With a smile he returned his gaze back to her. "After it got cleaned out, they put some bandages on them after I turned down their medicine and magic. They said their'd be no loss on use in my hands, and that's good enough for me." He laughed. "I'm lucky my hands are already really rough from the forge and carpentry, otherwise it'd be even worse."

The archer laughed with him. "I guess that is a good thing. It would be a shame if you never got to wield that beautiful sword of yours again." She gave him another smile. Her gaze fell down for a second as she thought quietly. After a couple of seconds, she spoke again. "You know, I saw you out there." She looked up at him. "You were really something, digging through all that rubble, trying to help."

"Hrm." He looked down at the swords' hilt. Dark blue with a black spiral swirling down straight to the pommel, in that pommel laid a red gem that complimented it's all around appearance. The hand guard was darkened steel, almost black, and had an intricate engraving on it that looked a bit like wings that curled around the fist when held. "I'm sure you didn't see me earlier then. What I did with this sword was fail, I didn't wield it. No, it would be an insult to say I wielded it." He smiled slightly. "I'm going to try to fix that. One day I will be proud to fight with it."
He dropped that little subject and segwayed into another topic. "I'm glad I could help. Though I don't think my hands are." His hands were really mad at him right now actually. "Anyways, I wanted to do what ever I can. I don't like seeing other people hurt." Besides, it was all he could do. Especially after he ducked out of that fight earlier for being a bad fighter, it was almost a way to redeem his self. To say he did everything he could, even if he couldn't particularly fight. Mostly he just wanted to help, but there was a bit more selfish motivation in there than even he wanted to admit.

"Well, it was very noble of you to go back like that. You impressed me." She stood up and put a hand on his shoulder. "And don't worry about freezing up. I did too. It was our first fight." She gave him a reassuring smile. "You'll do better next time. I guarantee you that." She pulled him into a quick hug and let him go. "Just believe in yourself. I do." She gave him a little wink and giggled.

Atleast you beat someone, I couldn't even kill a man when it came down to it... and I don't think I ever could. She was trying to make him feel better, and he appreciated that. So he too smiled and allowed himself to be hugged. More with the teasing? Sometimes he thought she did it on purpose. But the last time he allowed his self to become embarrassed over her accidental flirting she instantly forgot about him and jumped right to Kelvin. Well not anymore.
He wouldn't lie, he still like her. It just... he had no chance, so he stopped pretending he did. She loved Kelvin, even if she never said it. He could see it in how she relaxed around him, her body language, how she would always be looking at him even when she thought no one else was looking at her. "Thank you." He nodded with a smile. "You'll do better too." It can't be easy to kill a man... but it must be something that got easier in time... just the thought of that was sad. "Let's promise each other. We'll both do better next time." And hopefully, I won't be a burden.

Yaen looked at Kelvin, and felt himelf flush slightly. "Well, thank you." he replied, scratching the back of his head. He wasn't used to his swordsmanship being complemented. Yaen tried to keep in conversation with Kelvin and Mikar, but every few moments or so, his eyes glanced over to Chelsea and Valcrist. Namely Valcrist. Finally, he couldn't pay attention. "I'm sorry, fellows, I have something I need to do." he said, tearing away from the two. Approaching the younger duo, he tapped Valcrist on the shoulder. "Valcrist, was it?" he asked. "I wish to talk to you. Please come with me." Without waiting for an answer, he descended the stairs. ((If there were no stairs, there are now.))

"Huh, what?" A bit confused by the sudden appearance of the Sacaen man, and even more confused by his sudden desire to want to talk to him. He started to walk down a flight of stairs, that he swore weren't there before, and expected him to follow. Which he did, like the confused kid he was. "I don't think I know your name." He racked his mind and nothing came up. "But you were that guy who I saw go into the building as I was leaving, and I helped you clear the rubble away earlier, right?" He walked a bit behind him, trying to catch up without running.
