As Spirit slowly walked forward, Chelsea took a deep breathe. She was home. Well, not fully home yet, but she was back on her home plains. And it felt good. She smiled as the sun poured over both her and Spirit as they moved into the openness. The archer slid off the horses back and landed on the ground with a small thud.
She ran her hand over Spirit's mane softly a few times. "Hey girl, why don't you rest and snack on some of the grass? That'll be a nice treat for you." She smiled as the horse nuzzled her chest for a second before focusing her attention on the grass and starting to eat. Chelsea plopped down to the ground.
As the Sacaen sat down, she thought about what she was doing. She had wanted to try to go get her father's body back, but the chance it was still there was slim to none, plus people could still be somewhat resentful to Sacaens there and she didn't want to push her luck. So she had resolved to dig a hole, fill it with something of his and mark it next to the rest of her family's. It would be tough, but she'd have to do it. She wasn't sure how long it would actually take t get home, but it didn't matter at this point. Sure, she wanted to get back to Kelvin and everyone else. But family came first. That's when she heard a soft thud behind her to see Spirit had laid down behind her, chewing some grass as she did. Leaning on her horse light, Chelsea allowed her eyes to close for a short nap.

She was feeling like a darling little angel as she pranced around the grasslands, dancing in blooming flowers and colorful butterflies. It had been quite a while since she had last seen someone. The young shaman had long abandoned the traveling group of soldiers for a more free life of exploring the world. Right now she was in the middle of investigating grass and edible mushrooms-provided she could actually find one.
It was then when she saw it. A horse. A living, grass eating, waste making totally alive horse! The girl was so excited at that point she lost all control of her natural willpower and ran towards the horse, ignoring the thought that she was probably going to scare the cow patties out of it. She also didn't consider that there was, yes, there was an actual person standing there (in the back of her mind something was registering about the extra legs sticking out of the horse), so she found herself shocked and surprised when she smacked into the horse and received a most nasty bump. Plus the girl also fell backwards and landed on her rear end, feeling dizzy and out of breath.
For Love, animals had always behaved reasonably well in her presence. Cats usually purred, dogs sat and panted. Even chickens flocked to her and her small bag of chicken feed. But oh no. Not this horse. It had smacked her across the forehead with it's body and had left her dizzy and confused, not to mention some extreme rear pains. And was it just her or was the stars coming out early tonight? Oh dear.

Chelsea's eyes snapped open at the sound of a very close thud. Unsure how long she had been asleep, she jumped to her feet and looked around. Spirit was still laying behind her, but she looked agitated. Why? That's when the archer spotted the girl on the ground nearby. She had weird robes on. Was she a mage of some kind? And what was she doing here? Moving quickly, Chelsea pulled out her bow and readied an arrow, aiming at the girl. "Who are you?" She demanded.

Oh dear. She must have hit herself really hard. Talking horses? Talking horses with bows and arrows? Goodness she needed a cleric fast! Shaman down! Someone call the local healer fast!
Oh wait. It took a few moments of blinking and head shaking before she figured out what was going on. She had been so overcome with emotion, didn't think clearly, knocked into someone's horse and was now getting a killing threat from the horse's owner.
Did everyone respond to everyone else with violence? It was a strange way to welcome people. Nonetheless, Love clambered up to her legs and sheepishly said a quick "Sorry" before turning and fleeing in the direction of some blue butterflies she had seen earlier. She wanted to avoid another encounter with a person. No need to make more enemies right?

Chelsea watched at the person, a young girl, scampered off. She certainly seemed carefree, if not a little ditsy. Setting her bow down, she called out to her as she ran off. "Hey! Er... Little girl! Come back, I didn't mean to scare you!" It didn't seem safe for a girl so small to be traveling alone. Maybe the archer could help her get to her destination safely. That'd be a nice way to honor father, helping even more people. Plus, it's not like her house is going anywhere.

Chelsea sighed and jumped back up on Spirit. The girl had been too far away to call back, so the archer decided to go back to her journey. With one last look around for the girl, the Sacaen set off. As Spirit trotted along, she let her thoughts drift back to her family. It would probably be tough returning home to know she's the only one who still calls it that anymore. But she would steel herself to it. Bury her father, maybe train for a little bit, then head back to the group.
The red-head gave a yawn. Her nap had been cut short and she was still tired. Laying on Spirit's neck and wrapping around her arms around her neck, she let herself drift into sleep, trusting her horse to find the way.

Sacae it was all... Plains. It was really really confusing. He admired it before, but now it was more so kinda irritating. Especially since he hadn't the slightest idea where the heck he was traveling to.
There on the endless plains and hills was a small blue dot. A small blue dot topped with yellow. In his hand was a... a bundle of brown clothe. He didn't even know why he bothered... but he felt like it would be a betrayal if he hadn't. He didn't want to bother with anything, but... this was special. Even if there was no rhyme or reason to it, even though it was impossible, and even though it was only for him... He felt as if that as long as he had it, as he had made it, that she... might... one day forgive him... It's foolish to think that. Especially since he will never see her again, but...
Plopping down on the blandness that is the plains, back to a well placed rock, Val decided that if there was any time for a rest, it might as well be now. His legs screamed in mercy, as every step was another in the journey of a thousand miles. Also because he'd been walking all day without stopping.
Atleast the breeze felt nice. "I wonder... what everyone's doing now?" He mused aloud, letting out a soft sigh of air. It was pointless to wonder these things, he'd left them. Everyone. He didn't want to be a part of this war, he never did. He needed to go home, back to his mother, to his blacksmithing, and back the sandy little hole where everything made sense. Where everything was safe, anonymous, just words of mouth and letters on a page. Not living, breathing, standing in front of him.
...That fight between Yaen and Kenshin... how did it end? I'll never know... Sir Waltz is probably... doing something big and important. Those two I helped save, they're probably off doing their own thing. Wein... I wonder what happened to him? And Arturia too... Chelsea and Kelvin... they're probably with each other, as usual. Who was I kidding? A soft, downtrodden glance, his eyes fixated on the bundle of brown cloth.
I'm not meant for this. ANY of this. Meeting Chelsea back on that ranch was a mistake. No, the mistake was leaving my home in the first place. I'm not a warrior... I'm barely a man. Another, much harsher sigh. "Raaggh!" He growled at the heavens. "This sucks." He brought his knee up, resting his arm and head on it. "And I don't even know where I am..." The pity party continues.
Sorry everyone. I guess I just wasn't up to this.

As Chelsea rode on silently, she tilted her head back and stared up at the sky. It had been so long since she had time to do nothing like it. It was freeing. She had woken up a while ago now, and was feeling refreshed. She still felt a little bad about just letting that girl go, but she was a fast little one. Her thoughts lingered on the girl for a little bit before they started to drift.
She wondered where Rayl was. It had been so long she he departed. Was he still alive and well? Was he off fighting or even dead? Gabriel and the rest of the group should have reached Pherae by now. Surely they all got there safe, but what would happen after that? Would they be ok during whatever they did next? Kelvin had to be ok... What would she do if something happened to him?
And what had happened to Val and Yaen? She hadn't expected to hear from them or anything, but it was unnerving to have no idea what was happening to them. That's when she heard a shout. She snapped to attention and grabbed her bow. She looked around before spotting a figure a little ways ahead of her. Sliding off Spirit, she aimed her bow at the figure. "Who are you?!"

What was that?! Damn, he should of known better then to have relaxed and taken a break. It's probably a bandit, here to kill him. She'll kill him, take his sword and new creation, and sell it to some smith who doesn't understand what he's got, and he'll melt it down and totally use the materials to make other weaponry. No! Not that! That would... suck. Val slowly rose, his hands in the air.
"I'm... just a simple traveler." He stated in a voice that desperately wanted to believe it was confident.

The voice. That voice just seemed too familiar. Way to familiar. "V-Val...? Is that you?" Keeping her bow up, she started to slowly move forward, Spirit following her. When she was able to see him clearly, she put away her bow. A smile grew on her face. "Val! It is you!" She hurried forward and threw herself at him, giving him a big hug.

Val just kind of stood there. His mind malfunctioning at the sheer amount of 'what' and 'how' and 'oh my god she's hugging me'. Slowly he moved his arms, after he remembered he had them, and returned it. "Chelsea? Why... how? Huh?" His bundle of brown cloth layed at the ground by him, but he made no move to grab it. Why on earth was Chelsea here? Wasn't she supposed to be in Lycia with Sir Waltz? And where's Kelvin, she'd never leave Kelvin, the two were inseparable as much as they were insufferable.

Chelsea was beaming as she let go of Val. It was such a relief to know he was ok! "I left the group too, for a little while at least." The smile faded from her face. "I'm going home. My father was never buried after he was killed and I need to do something about it." She gave him a sad little smile and looked down at her hand. After a few seconds, and without warning, she smacked Val across the face HARD. In a perfectly calm voice, she said "And that was for leaving the group without saying a real goodbye to me."

"I... deserved that." He had an uneasy smile as he slightly rubbed his red, and surprisingly sore cheek. Archers are a lot stronger then I thought. At the very least it knocked him out of his daze. Her words began to sink in, her father... "I'm sorry to hear that Chelsea." Did she tell him about her father? He couldn't rightly remember, she was always so cheerful that it was hard to think she had something like that weighing down on her this whole time.

Chelsea gave a little smile. "Thanks, Val. I mean, it happened a little while ago so I'm really over it mostly now. Kelvin helped a lot, but there's still the burying part. I don't have his body cause I don't know where it would be now, so I'm not sure what I'm actually gonna do yet, but I'll figure something out. Then I'll finally have closure." She gave a little shrug and looked down. She really was used to it at this point, she wasn't even crying thinking about it anymore. She sighed softly and looked back up at Val. "So where are you going? Weren't you with Yaen?"

He stood there silently, thinking. This wasn't something he wanted to run into blindly, he's never had experience dealing with... people in this situation. He wasn't good at this, so he just kinda said nothing. "It's good to have closure." He said in a kinda dorky way, arms crossed and looking serious. "Trying to ignore your heart's pain only makes it cry worse, until it hurts to a point you can just no longer feel it... And that's something you should never wish for... that... was something my mother told a long time ago when my grandma died." He tried to smile, but felt like he looked foolish. "I... I guess, um... I'm trying to say that, well." This was incredible awkward. "I don't know what you should do either, but I think the important part is just doing it."
He reached over and grabbed his arm without even realizing it, a slight guilty smile on the corner of his face. "I-I kinda left them. He was fighting, with Kenshin no less! I didn't want to stick around, I was slowing them down. Kinda like I was slowing you guys down." He laughed.
