Chelsea gave Val a light punch on the arm. "You were never slowing us down, Val. You were an important part of the group, whether you want to admit it or not. And I'm sure you weren't really slowing down Yaen's group either. You need to stop being so hard on yourself." She then wrapped her arms around the one she had hit. "And thanks." She smiled. "So where are you headed to? It's been a while since I've seen a friendly face and it would be nice to have someone to talk to for a little bit."

He gave a small laugh, "Oh well, I'm sure they're all fine without me." He smiled as she pulled on his arm. "There's tons of skinny blond kids out there, it won't be too hard to replace me. Maybe the next one can be a cook..." He turned his head to look at her. "Where am I going? You got me. I'm completely lost out here. The plains look like the other plains to me. I guess there's not really anywhere I'm particularly headed to." His eyes glazed over the oodles upon oodles of grass. He was just fine about finding his way without landmarks, but there didn't seem to be anything of interest around here. All of his maps said the same thing, there was really only on city in Sacae and he was avoiding it.
"So..." He added, looking back at her. "I guess that means I could tag along with you for a while if you want."

Chelsea smiled. "Of course I want you to tag along for a while." She squeezed his arm before letting go. She whistled and Spirit came trotting over. Giving her horse a pet on the nose, she turned to Val again. "I know you're not a big fan of riding, so I'll walk with you for a little bit." She knew she'd have to ask Val to leave when she got closer to home but that wasn't for a little bit. For now, she grabbed on of his hands as she started to walk, leading him along. Spirit trotted along next to her as they went, occasionally nibbling at some grass. Looking up at Val, a thought came to Chelsea. "Did you ever make that bow you wanted?"

"Well then Ms. Chelsea. You will have the biggest, strongest, manliest escort you could ever wish for." He flexed his imaginary muscles, posing dramatically like some hammy actor. Feeling a nudge on his side, he looked to see Spirit, Chelsea's horse. He gently patted the horse with a grin, "Hey there girl, I haven't seen you in a while." It was true, he liked horses well enough, but he was always a bit woozy while riding them. He was used to having his feet to the ground, relying on something else for his mobility made him feel awkward. He didn't really like wagons much either for the same reason. He's never rode on a boat, but it would probably make him sick if he did.
"Thanks Chelse, I... I'll be right back. I forgot something when you were making me think I was going to be killed and all that." He hurried back to his little hidey-rock, and retrieved his brown cloth bundle. He didn't want to lose this, afterall it cost quite a bit to make. In time, money, and even sanity. You can only go through so many designs before you start feeling like you're crazy and convince yourself you just plain suck and shouldn't even try. He looked at it, weighed it in his hand, and gave a half hearted smile at it. Was it good enough? Oh well.
"Ok, I'm back." Any other time he might be too embarrassed to even think straight, what with her holding his hand and whatnot, but he was absolutely sure she thought nothing of it. It was almost depressing how oblivious she was, but oh well. She pipped up about something, and he almost missed it all, being lost in his own little brooding world. "That bow?" How did she know he was making a bow? Did he tell her? Crap, there goes that surprise. He couldn't even remember, oh well. "Oh that, yeah, I finished it. I... I smithed the hell out of it, that I did."

Chelsea watched Val run back to get his stuff with a smile. "Sorry about that!" She laughed as he ran. How could she even think about killing Val? She really needed to be more careful about who she pointed her bow at, first that girl then Val. She shook her head. Both of those could have been bad; she was lucky.
The archer watched as Val came running back with some cloth bundle. Did his pack break? Did he even have a pack? She couldn't even remember right now, but that wasn't important. She kept her eyes on the cloth as he got closer before meeting his eyes in return. When he said he had finished it, her eyes widened. She hadn't actually expected that. "Really? You did? That's so cool!"

"It is, isn't it?" He laughed, feeling the small but very potent ego swelling in his chest. He made this bow. He transformed hunks of metal into this, it wasn't something just anyone could do. Usually he'd get down on his self for it 'not being perfect' or 'a work of novice' but it wouldn't hurt to let him just have this one. "Yeah, I just finished smithing it the other day actually... I finished it after leaving Yaen and his group." He wasn't sure where he was going, or even where he wanted to go. So he started with something he knew he wanted to do, make this weapon. After that he just kinda wandered and lo and behold he was held up by the archer girl he left in the first place.
"Don't worry about the whole 'tried to shoot me' thing. I don't blame you. I'm lucky you decided to just slap me instead." Skinny blond kids filled him with a seething loathing as well. He thought for a moment. But stomped out the thought with a sigh. "So... Where are we headed. I know your home, but where exactly is that?"

"Well, my house is a ways to the northwest, so that's where I'm heading. And I don't mean to be rude, but when we get closer, I'm gonna need to go on alone. I hope you understand." She gave him a sad little smile as they walked. This trip was already not what she was expecting at all, but in a good way. Way it? Oh well.
The pair of them walked for a few hours before Chelsea proposed a break. Spirit laid down and Chelsea rested against her. She had really bonded to her horse so much since that day Rayl introduced the two. She gave her a few nice pets before turning her attention back to Val. "So, do you have any idea where you're gonna go when we split up? I know Gabriel and Kelvin and them were heading back to Pherae, so you could probably catch up with them if you wanted."

"Oh no, it's alright. Totally understand. This is personal stuff, you didn't leave by yourself on some journey just to get bogged down on the way." It was understandable, he probably wouldn't want his self to tag along either if he was her. If that made any sense. He countered her sad smile with a goofy one. It was just him and Chelsea, no Kelvin in sight. Even if it was nothing, he'd be lying if he said he wasn't enjoying every step. He really shouldn't be getting so much enjoyment, considering the circumstances, but he was just happy to see her again.
They took a break, a trip made mostly in silence. But it didn't bother him none, he had nothing but silence the last few days as he traveled. At least now he was quiet with company. He sat on the grass, his sprawled out in front of him. His bow sitting next to him, along with his pack. Turning his head, he saw Chelsea and Spirit bonding. Hiding a small laugh, he couldn't help but bend back to try and work the kinks out of his back, after a slight groan he decided to answer her question. "Where am I going? Hrm... good question." He thought silently as he grabbed his chin to think. "I couldn't say." He sighed with a slight shrug of the shoulders. "I mean, I don't wanna go back to Pherae to meet up with them. And I can't return home. Not now atleast. I left in the first place to see the world... Only I found out that the world is a far more dangerous place then I even imagined. And I read a lot of adventure books." He added with a laugh. "Etruria is busing killing everyone, Lycia is in the middle of preparing an army, Bern is revolting against Ilia and Ilia is fighting back. It seems Sacae is the only safe place, but it's probably not going to be that way long." This time he groaned. "Maybe I should go home, no one bothers with Nabata..."

Chelsea listened as Val spoke, taking in his words. She waited until he finished before speaking. "I don't think you should go back to Nabata. Who would I annoy if you did?" She gave a little smirk and gave his boot a tap. "And personally, I think you should go back to Gabriel and everyone else. I'm gonna be going back myself once my duty is done. And I feel like you will play an important part in things to come. I don't know why, but I have a good feeling about it." She tilted her head back and looked up at the sky. She went quiet for a few minutes before going on. "Plus, you could probably meet a cute girl."

He arced his head and back to look at her, his head and ponytail hanging upside down. A snort of laughter escaped, in probably a very unflattering scene. Oh Chelsea. Sometimes he felt she did it on purpose. "Cute girls have caused me nothing but problems." He spoke with a cockeyed grin, which probably looked more like a frown because he had it turned upside down. Speaking of which, this was hurting his neck. He snapped his head back, but decided to simply just get up.
"I guess it's something I will have to think about." A simple shrug and sigh. 'S'not like I'm doing much else afterall." Dusting off the front of his pants, and the butt too, he grumbled. "This is a new shirt too... I'm ready whenever you are."

Chelsea got up with a little groan and dusted off her skirt. "I like the new shirt. It's very... fitting." She gave him a look over before giving him a sad smile. "And if you keep that attitude, you'll never get a nice girl. And I definitely think you will. You're a nice guy, Val, and girls like nice guys. You'll find you're perfect girl someday, I know it." She gave him a smile before starting to lead Spirit along. She sort of dragged her feet as she walked, turning an idea over in her head; trying to figure out if it would be worth bringing up. With a deep breath, she turned to Val and looked him in the eyes. "So, were you ever going to say something?"

"Yes, let them come in droves!" He dramatically threw his arms up. "They shall talk about their day, and I shall listen and then they will be mine. ALL mine." He slammed his head back and let out a bellow of forced and obviously fake evil laughter. After the sideshow had died down he gave a more genuine chuckle. "Well atleast until they get bored anyway. Nah, I'm good. I lived my whole life without looking for anyone, and I'm more then content to keep it that way. Afterall who needs romance when there's ADVENTURES to be had!" He snickered.
"The worlds at war, people are dieing for no reason, and I'm pretty sure we'll be randomly attacked by bandits or somesuch before this is all over. Seems a bit out of place, even jarring for romantic intermission." He folded his hands behind his head, a light sigh escaped but he did not explain what it was for. Besides... That little annoying voice piped up in his head, one that he would love to rip from his skull and throwdown with, because everytime it spoke up it made him feel just a little more depressed. He tried to drown it out, but by not thinking about it, he thought about it. I don't really want to find another girl... I could do with her finding another man however. His face felt warm, but he hoped it wasn't noticeable.
Then Chelsea asked him something... and he just kinda stopped. Kinda stopped and slightly cocked his head, "Urm... Say something about what?" He probably was, as he was a loudmouth, but it was kinda vague about what she wanted.

The orange-haired archer rolled her eyes and gave a little laugh. "Oh Val... I know you think you are, but you're not very subtle." She sighed and gave his arm a little poke. "I've known for a little bit, and had an idea about it before that. I tried to give you chances to speak up and say something, but you were just too shy..." She shook her head slightly, and when she looked back up she had a little grimace on her face at the sight of Val's continued confused. "I may be a little slow on some social cues, but after a while even someone like me can pick up on them. I know you like me, Val."

"Well, that obvious huh?" He laughed pathetically. He had thought she was completely oblivious, though that was more for his sanity then any actual clues to support it. "I guess now would be where I deny everything, start acting all flustered, feel my face lit aflame and all around act like some lovesick puppy who pooped in the corner of the room and pretended he did nothing." Did... did he just compare his feelings to poo? Well, it made him feel that way sometimes, sure.
He thought this would of been a lot harder, but it wasn't. He was calm, well compared to a normal Valcrist which was broody and full of self-pity. He let out a depressing sigh. "I never took you for a fool... I... I suppose I just pretended you didn't know because it made me feel better or something. Bit... Unfortunately for you I am a fool. I know... I know it's a stupid thing, I know you're in love with Kelvin, and I know nothing I could ever do would change that." He laughed quietly.
"Though, to be honest, how can I not?" He perked up a bit. "You're kind, passionate, caring, and stubborn as a horse. But strong like one too. You have mood swings, but I find it cute when you get frustrated, that little scowl on your face. You're my first friend I've ever really had." He smiled peacefully. "And, honestly, probably one of the best a person could ask for."
Then came that frown. His calm slowly oozing away, a hot steam from tempered iron in cool water. What remained was the polluted liquid that was there friendship and the cold iron that he had left. He slowly frowned. "But... I'm aware this is an entirely one sided affair. I... I can try harder to push it down if it bothers you."

Feeling excited to be meeting new people while on an adventure, Ilyadia picked up his courage. "Ho there!" he shouted. He didn't mind that his voice sounded in between male and female, making it rather hard to place. He never cared. But hat if these people cared? What if they would not let him travel with them?
All the good thoughts escape from his mind, leaving only terrible, negative thoughts behind. Perhaps he should just fall back to his friends and family... Back to what he knew... But it was to late to turn back now. He would not turn back, even if he was turned away by these people...
He was now walking towards them, bow, quiver, and sack on back. "Ho!" he repeated.
