Valcrist smiled and simply nodded to the plainsgirl, happy that she was feeling better. He turned to the incredibly tall boy they were faced with. He gave an awkward wave when she said his name, introducing the tan skinned boy herself. He scratched the back of his head with a slightly sheepish grin, but still looked cheerful. After Chelsea finished talking, he decided to add to it. "I don't mind if you tag along either, as long as you don't decide to shoot us in the middle of the night or something." It might be foolish to randomly trust someone he didn't even know, in fact there wasn't any 'might' about it, it was foolish. It might of been the fact the boy looked around his age, or the fact that despite his height he didn't seem very intimidating, or it might of been Val's general lack of social skills. Regardless, he didn't see any harm.
"As she said, I'm Valcrist. I'm from Nabata, the desert-y place that no one likes to go to." He laughed at his own stupid comment. Truth be told he was kinda hoping he'd tag along, that was... erm... a lot of drama a minute ago. First with him then her, maybe someone else being around will help calm things down. Also stop Chelsea from talking about 'us' and her inevitable stomping on his heart.

Ilyadia smiled. This was almost like the stories he had heard... Except he was one of the characters. "It would be an honor to travel with the two of you. And no worries on the killing you in the middle of the night. I wouldn't dare think about it." the plainsboy said, beaming at this point. "Sure, I'm not very good with it, but you have my bow if we get into combat!"
Oh, this was far better than Ilyadia had expected. Nevermind the fact that they had attempted to kill him at first! The rest of this was amazing... He, or course, took note that the girl was going through some stress. Perhaps her Nabataean boyfriend over there would be able to help her out...

Ooc: Hope you don't mind me joining, however brief.
Bic: Selibas was all alone. It was like a few months ago before he met those people at Santaruz. Samen and Terrence had gone to meet the messenger, and recruit along the way. And Chlane had gone ahead to the tribe to talk Selibas up to people. And try to intimidate Selibas' cousin.
As he walked around the plains he remembered another thing he didn't like about some parts of Sacae. No trees, at all. He wanted to take a nap but he wouldn't be able to until he had a tree or was tired. Without sleep he had no idea how to fill the twenty to thirty days Chlane had told him to wait.
When he saw a group of people standing around, he realized it would be more suspicous to NOT talk to them than Do do it. So he walked over slowly not knowing what to say, probably just, crazy weather huh? But then he saw that one of the people was a women, who looked sad, and he didn't say his line. Well he said it but it came out, " W-weath uhh bluh."

Chelsea gave a small smile towards the boy when another one walked up and stuttered... something. What was it with these boys? It was like they had never seen a girl before her. She shook her head; this is not what she had in mind. She had expected a quiet trip back to her house, then a little journey with Val. Now she was the de facto leader of a group? How did all this happen. For a solo journey there certainly were a lot of people here...
She turned to the new, green-haired boy. "If you wanna travel with us too, you may. But I'm worn out right now, so ask my number two Val for introductions. That's the tanned guy." It was fitting Val was her 'number two,' as he was her friend and she knew he could fight. Why she used number two, she didn't know. Maybe she was taking this like a real group forming. But not for long, and she wanted Val to be the leader when she left. Moving swiftly, she swung up onto Spirit. "Follow it you want," she said to no one in general and she slowly set off. Sure, she was probably being anti-social right now, but she had just been through a lot. She needed even a little time alone, and maybe a quick nap... She rested her head against Spirit's neck and closed her eyes. She knew Spirit would know where to go; Sacaen horses were fantastic as finding where they needed to go. Chelsea was asleep before she knew it.

Ilyadia looke at the other two boys, and then over at Chelsea. He shrugged, and then turned to follow her. He stayed a little ways behind her horse, looking at the scenery. Sure, some may believe that Sacae was only plains, but to the well trained eye... Well, it was still a plain, but there was stuff to look at nonetheless. Ilyadia kept his head looking over to the left as he walked, not actually looking where he was going. Sure, he wanted to meet these people and get to know them, but... Right now probably wasn't the best time.

Selibas didn't know why but he decided to follow. Maybe because she seemed to actually have a destination. Maybe because he felt uncomfortable travelling alone now. Probably because he just had time to kill. So as long as they were in Sacae he'd follow for a time. He turned to one of the blonde boys. Cool another swordsman. When the girl was out of earshot he said, " Hello I'm Selibas, Sacaen novice extrordinare." He said with a weak grin.

He absentmindedly palmed the hilt of his blade, in his other hand was a bundle of cloth. He had been carrying it, thinking about every moment it was in his hand. The longer he waited the more awkward everything got. First she was mad at him, then he was pouring his heart out, then she was upset, and now she was... Ugh. It was enough to give him a headache. He turned to the swordsman with a half-hearted smile.
"I'm Valcrist, Val for short, a novice swordfighter as well." He heard his self saying. "Er..." He didn't know why he was appointed her 'Number 2' but it made him feel awkward. He had a bit of a bad feeling, but that shouldn't matter. It was nice to see other people, other people not related to the war. "I'm a blacksmith mostly though." Not a particularly good one either, but really that didn't need to be said. His self esteem was already horrible enough.

Selibas nodded. He looked at his sword and thought of something Chlane had told him. A good swordsman should be able to size up an enemy in the way he unseathes his sword. Using a different style such as strength could fool the opponent from the fact that the swordsman mainly relies on speed. This was called the sworsman bluff.
Selibas had decided to hide his strength with speed. Plus he had found a way to just look cool doing it. His sword hung at his side on the left because he's right handed. He brought his right foot back to meet the point of his sword in it's wooden sheath. It bounced out and Selibas grabbed at the hilt with his right hand.
He looked up at Val smiling. He probably looked stupid doing this method and not even catching the sword to pull it out. He said, "I should probably tell you my story. I am from the clan (he paused thinking the other swordsman wouldn't understand the Sacaen name.) the Under Wolves. I am in fact the cousin of the cheif of the clan and of course his brother. It is our custom that any member of the family of dead chief can fight his eldest son for the spot. But after a year no one can challenge the chief again. My sword instructor told me to wait some twenty to thirty days before returning. So I'm killing time."
Selibas looked to Chelsea then back to Val, "So where we headed?"

Val looked at him, a bemused look filling his face as he neck craned back ever so slightly. He watched as the swordsman did some thing where he kicked his sword to pull it out but didn't pull it out and something. He didn't mind, but it caught him off guard. For a second there he thought that he was about to pull his blade for battle or somesort. These fears subsided quickly, and Val just laughed it off with nervous laughter. Maybe Val should come up with some sort of fancy unsheathing...
"Oh, you're a Sacaen too?" Hurr durr, you're in Sacae, duh. Val laughed at his self for a moment. He was he the only foreigner here, and while he was a foreigner in most places, it felt especially apparent here. "Um... I'm afraid my story is dreadfully dull in comparison. I'm a blacksmith from Nabata, but I got bored and wanted to see the world, so here I am." Oh, I fought some wolves and abandoned my swordteacher because I'm a coward. But that's not compelling storytelling.
"Nice to meet you Selibas." He said with a wide grin and a nod of the head. He thought for a second about the question, a good question indeed... as Val didn't really know the answer. "Hrm, as far as I know I'm accompanying Chelsea to her home. Mostly just for the ride, I'm leaving after we get there." Not that he wouldn't mind being there with Chelsea, he just got the feeling she didn't really want him to accompany her. This was something she wanted to do alone. "But after that... I'm not sure. I was just wandering before."

Ilyadia caught the last bit of what Valcrist had said. He slowed down so that he was walking closer to the two swordmen, and then began to talk.
"Wandering? Would you mind a companion?" the Hunter asked the Myrmidon. Ilyadia thought for a moment as to where the other boy might go after Sacae... And the thought made him grin. He did love the plains of his childhood, and he knew he would probably miss his family. But this was what he wanted to do. He would travel the world. And he would find out what happened to his parents.... Eventually.

Val chuckled nervously again, he felt so out of place. He would probably laugh nervously all afternoon, oh well, such is life. He subconsciously touched a spot on the back of his neck as he spoke, though he dropped his arm as soon as he was doing so. "Erm, well... Uh. I suppose we should, er, wait for that time to come before deciding everything." He didn't mean no insult, it's just... he was someone he didn't even know. The last time he traveled with someone he didn't even know, he ended up joining the army.
"I guess we can talk more about it later." He added, with a shrug that didn't really even mean anything. He just needed something to fill the silence his body language had. "Erm, Chelsea." He hurried over to the Archer girl who had been quiet this whole time. Feeling a bit more at ease with someone he actually knew, he felt a bit of the tension in his shoulders slide away. "About how far are we now?"

Selibas continued to walk with the other blonde guy. It was awkward to travel with someone and not talk to them. Well unless they're a woman, and you can't talk to women. So he decided to introduce himself.
He said, "I am Selibas from the tribe named the Under Wolves. Or Segundo Lobos. I am on my way their but I had time to kill so here I am. I am a swordsman a counterpart to your bow." He palmed his hilt as he couldn't practice kicking his sheath.

"I suppose I can wait to get an answer." Ilyadia said towards the one swordsman. A maybe was as good as a yes for the Sacaean.
Ilyadia smiled at Selibas. "A pleasure to meet you. I'm Ilyadia, from a tribe that is currently not too far from here. As you have noticed, I do use a bow. However, I've never really gotten a taste of combat, which I hope to experience sometime on my journey." Ilyadia now took in Selibas's appearance, which he did by staring at Selibas with his head slightly tilted to the left. He didn't seem to be breaking his staring at any point in the near future.

Chelsea slowly lifted her head off of Spirit and sleepily looked around for the source of the voice before spotting Val. "Oh, hey Val..." She gave a yawn and stretched before answering. "How long? Let's see." She looked around for a few seconds. "Probably a little over a day away. Why do you ask?" She had a feeling she knew why he was asking, probably trying to figure out when they'd need to part ways. Which reminded her, she had another question. "And what's in those wrappings you carry around? Is it another sword?" She had completely forgotten he had said he finished the bow for her.

Val looked away, not even trying to hide his disappointment. He wasn't blushing or wringing his hand over her or anything, but it filled him with a sadness to know that probably his only real friend in the world was going to be gone. It was fate, he supposed, or rather just some really bad irony. Atleast she had the decency to alert him she was leaving, unlike some jerk who only left a crudely done picture.
It was... much easier last time. He had thought he'd never see her again, he steeled his heart and left... but now he met her again. His tempered heart turned out to be shoddy workmanship after it all. Instead it was more bare then it ever was... damn she even knew exactly how he felt and he was still in the dark about how much she pitied him. She had to pity him, it was the only explanation she would stay with Val, especially after... all that.
His mind ranted and raved for a few more seconds before Chelsea's voice caught his attention. He turned his head with a slight 'huh' noise, and looked at her in a slightly lopsided manner. She was talking about his... erm... craft. "Oh, this? It's, erm... It's nothing. I mean..." He stuttered as he spoke, feeling embarrassed and pretty sure his face felt a full ten degrees warmer then it should of. But... there was really no reason to stop hiding it. He had wanted to wait for the perfect moment, which he half hoped never came so he'd never give her his shoddy excuse for a weapon. However, it was becoming all too obvious such a 'perfect moment' would either never happen... or happen right after he gave it to her since the world hates him like that.
He brought over his other hand and tore the leather it was bundled in, getting rid of the strings that also held it. Inside were two items, a bow and a quiver. It was an elegant design, in a teal blue-green color not at all unlike the color Chelsea commonly wore. So many nights and days worked up over this design, and as Val looked at it as he was presenting, he couldn't stop the nagging voice in his head screaming it was all wrong. It wasn't really, when he first made it he loved it. It was easily his best work, surpassing his sword in functionality and also skill needed to use. The design looked like the bow itself could be used to cut through foes, intimidating but still enchanting... kinda like what Val felt. The quiver was part of a matching set, inlaid with all manner of etchings and engravings that added to it's design rather then draw away from ostentatious. It was a bow that looked like a powerful weapon of years long past, despite being brand new and only mediocre in terms of ability... But if Val couldn't be proud of this, he couldn't be proud of anything.
"It-it was a gift..." He continued to stutter like a child. "F-for y-you. If... If I ever saw you again I wanted to give you this... I promised I'd make you a weapon. This is it, I hope... I hope you enjoy it. I made it... because even when I left I... I couldn't stop thinking about you. If you hated me for what I did, if I'd never see you again, if you would be alright, if if I left you would be hurt. I promised to watch your back, but if I wasn't there..." He trailed off quietly, his body going cold as he remember those nightmarish thoughts he had that seeped out of his dreams and into his waking hours.
"I... I guess this is my way of saying 'sorry' and... to say 'thank you for everything'."
