Kelvin cocked his head as the large man approached. He certainly seemed like an... eccentric person. Marcus nudged Kashmir forward slightly and extended his hand to the giant man. "A pleasure to meet you, Sir Lyar. I am Sir Kelvin Calderon, knight of Caelin and cousin of Rayl."

Karina stood one guard as a large, muscular mane approached. She could not help but feeling a bit of attraction to him, though he looked like he could crush her with one hand. Perhaps it was his face. He looked handsome, but simple. She set a pleasant smile on her face, ready to listen to what he had to say.

Saturos ran a hand through his hair after Lyar had finished patting him on the head. He was probably the oldest one in sight, and yet he felt like a child next to Lyar. At 6'5", he wasn't particularly used to feeling short.
"The name's Saturos," he said, stepping forward and giving Sir Rayl, Sir Kelvin, and the other few his usual overdramatic bow in greeting. "It is a pleasure to meet all of you. What brings you all to the fair city of Bern?"

"Max. It's time." The guard outside came inside and called Max.
"Is it? Well, I am leaving, Aidan Lowell. The next time we meet you will feel fresh air again." Max gave Aidan a last glance before turning away and leaving the cold cell. The guard (rebel member) closed the door and locked it as he watched Max disappearing behind a corner.
On his way toward the guard room, a soldier who actually a rebel member, approached him, looking around to check if someone was nearby. But there was only him and Max, and probably sleeping prisoners. "Well?" He just said that, he didn't seem like a talkative person. Max shrugged as he began to talk, "He showed some promises. That man wanted to help our plan, he even thought about that before I told him about our entire plan." Max whispered.
"Good. But now something has happened," that man said. His plain expression didn't changed which annoyed Max a bit. "Our men spotted someone. Rayl, the Pherae hero." The name of the paladin made Max frowned, he knew who was Rayl. But why was he here? In Bern? Did he come to attend the execution? "Have we figured his purpose coming to Bern?" The question was answered with a shrug.
Max put his right hand on his chin and his left arm across his chest. "I think I have to go to see it myself."

Syana gave a little smirk as Saturos bowed as big as she did. She didn't make a big display like Lyar and Saturos; she didn't care much for them. She crossed her arms and gave her head a little nod. "Syana, nice to meet you." And what the heck was up with everyone being so tall around here? Lyar had always been huge, Saturos was tall too, and now all these new people seemed just as tall. What the heck!?

The ground shook violently, for what Ralph could only assume was a human from everyone's reactions.
Some introductions were made, so Ralph had to make his memorable, with a pose oddly well-timed with the wind, he said, "I'm Ralph Meglane, the Crimson-eyed Thief... slash Baker." The wind blew his coat around dramatically as he spoke.
"I hope I didn't misinterpret Sir Rayl, but I believe we're here for diplomatic reasons. There should be someway we can avoid another war here, right?"
The people who had joined them were an odd-smelling bunch. The one he assumed was the cause of the quake, Lyar, reeked of too much testosterone. The other two, Saturos and Syana as they had introduced themselves, smelled like there was something covering part of their natural scent. Masks, or something maybe? Odd, but nobody brought it up, so Ralph did not either.

Karina's mind drifted from the battlefield. She saw again the green-haired children playing together. It was snowing. A great black mass of clouds were approaching, and the children looked scared. Their parents came out of the house, reassuring them that everything would be fine. They took them inside as the black clouds approached.
Wind rocked the small house, and snow assaulted it's windows. the house groaned under the stress. The whole village was groaning. Finally, with a resonating crack, the support beams gave way. A tiny, green haired girl awoke, inches away from a deadly splinter of wood. She cried out, but no one answered.
Karina opened her eyes, now flooded with tears. "Ahh- I cannot stay," she choked to Rayl. "I'm sorry. There is someone I must find... I must find him. Ralph! I am leaving. If you do not wish to stay in Bern, come with me. I'm going to Ilia." she Pegasus knight reigned her steed and hopped on it's back. She reached her hand out to the thief, her cheeks still wet. Where to start... Where? Getting out of Bern, that will be it. Then I will be in Sacae... Sacae! I... I thought I heard whispers of Chelsea leaving on her own while I was sick. I'll find her and beg for help... I will find you... Rand.

"K-karina?" She spoke so suddenly. Ralph wasn't sure if her facial expressions had made it seem like she would do this or not. "Wait, let me come with you. You're right, I don't want to stay in Bern. My place is no longer here, I cannot hope to return to what I've abandoned."
Ralph also did not want to leave the girl all by herself. One thing Bill had taught him was to always help those in need, whether they wanted it or not. Obviously, she was giving him a chance to help. He grabbed her hand (kinda, he more or less groped the air until he grasped it), and pulled himself up onto the Pegasus.
"Sir Rayl, accept my apologies. I am not ready to return to Bern, please excuse me. I wish you luck in your pursuit to peace." The vision of his father was right. Ralph ran away from Bern before, and he would do it again. Perhaps there was something deep in his memory he had repressed, something keeping him from Bern. Whatever it was, Ralph felt that something bad would happen if he were to return to Bern.

"You all took your sweet time, now didn't you..." A man, one that looked quite small in comparison to the many towering behemoths, stepped forward. He wasn't shying away though, he honestly did not care how large these men were, carrying his self with a kind of sleezy confidence that let him slip past being intimidated. If anything it was almost intimidating itself, in it's own dirty way. Like walking down the street and being pulled into an alley, held to knife point, a kind of killer chill as just looking at him could tell you he wouldn't hesitate for a second.
"I believe you are the acquaintances of a particular man, one whom who has been incarcerated." He smiled his nasty smile. A smug one, that suggested he knew more then it seemed, and so much more. "Interesting company he keeps, to say the least." He muttered to his self in a semi-offhanded fashion. "Though it suits him." That was probably more of an insult then a compliment.
"I need you to come with me." He mentioned. "If you want any chance of rescuing him." He didn't name any names, but any person could guess he was obviously referring to Aidan. He beckoned the group to follow him. "Unless you all want to be stumped at the gate while he's busy being hung." He hadn't moved yet, as he was absolutely sure they'd waste atleast the next five minutes asking dumb questions that he'd have to be vague about. He would out and say he was with the rebellion here and there, but that would be kind of dumb. They weren't in the city yet, but they were by no means safe.

Another contact.
Judah considered this. The acolyte recognized the man in front of him, but he wasn't sure that the other man would have the same remembrance. Judah was involved more in the rebel's supply, and communications than key operations, but he could still have a way of identifying himself.
The blackrobed acolyte approached from the edge of the group, pushing his hood back just far enough to reveal his face, and the white shock of hair on his hair line.
"I trust this man." Judah said, loudly enough to be heard by the rescue party, but not anyone else. Of course, no one there had any reason to trust his judgment.
The acolyte addressed the man, locking eyes on him, with his attempt at making a... hopeful... face. Purely for the benefit of the others present, of course. "We have eyes, Sir. If you have seen a way through these difficulties, please share and help guide us down your path." It was more than the simple request that it sounded. It was a code phrase relating to the rebellion's main organizer, Iris. It also repulsed Judah. He couldn't abide how soft it sounded, but if the other man didn't recognize Judah, he would recognize the code phrase.

"I'm not even sure I trust you yet, Judah," replied the myrmidon, weighing his options. "Much less Mr. Shifty here." It was true that the castle Bern was quite the obstacle and that a handful of people would probably not be able to crack it, but he wasn't going to lead himself or anyone else for that matter into some sort of a trap. Syana could handle herself in a fight, that much was true, but there was no point in needlessly exposing them to danger.
Unfortunately, there was little choice as Saturos had little, wait... no leads on how to go about freeing Aidan, so this tiny ratlike man would half to do. "But I'll come with. Just know I'll have my eye on you..." The myrmidon turned his head to give Judah a suspicious eye. "Both of you."

"Ah! Reasonable, I so do enjoy the reasonable ones. You can never find them these days. I'd keep an eye on me too." He clasped his hands together with a cocky grin. He turned his gaze over to the other man and was a bit annoyed. Like if he seriously said what he just said. There was really no point in 'proving' he was with the resistance, as if X wouldn't know anyways. It was almost a little insulting, but sure, if that's the way he wanted to go with it then fine. "Yeah yeah, my sharp eyes can see through this problem right quick, you see?" He held two fingers up to his eyes, his brow cocked as if to say 'there I did it'.
Now all they needed was to get the young lady, and boisterous brute aboard and then this whole nightmare can be over. Luckily, he was being paid quite a bit of gold for all this, or he'd never bother dealing with people like this.

Kelvin slowly shook his head. "I'm sorry gentlemen. This isn't my fight. I suppose I'm needed elsewhere." Then he turned to Rayl, "I'm sorry, cousin. This is where I take my leave." He patted his cousin on the shoulder, and angled Kashmir in the direction of the road. He gave the group behind him one last wave, and he set his horse on a quick gallop. He didn't know where he was headed, but he knew that somebody out there needed his help and he wouldn't stop until he found them.

"I agree with Saturos," Syana said, speaking up. She wanted to rescue Aidan right now but all they could do was wait. Could some of these people be trusted? Maybe, maybe not. But was there really anything else they could do at this point? She sighed and shook her head. She didn't like this, she didn't like this at all. A fact she shared with Saturos by leaning over and whispering "I don't like this Saturos..."

When Saturos and Syana expressed their distrust, it only brought a smile to the acolyte's lips. It was not the friendly sort of smile either.
"As long as you're ready to get the job done, your trust is not required." Judah turned back to the greasy looking man who was gathering them.
"Shall we get started then? Get us to wherever it is you need us and let's begin."
