"Yes, listen to the smart one." He gave a sort of semi-amused chuckle, almost as if it was a sort of game. It kind of was, but it was a very lopsided game when one side had leverage. Of course, that leverage in this case was a certain man. Usually it was money, but that surprised no one, people were greedy. Him included. "Trust is nice, but not necessary. What is important is what we can do for each other. As long as we both have something the other wants, trust need not apply." He gave a dismissive wave of the hand, turning his eyes to Saturos. Oh yes, he knew his name. He knew all of their names, but that wasn't particularly amazing.
"Come with me." He motioned to their makeshift 'leader' as he beckoned them to follow. They weren't heading to the gate, that would be dumb even if he could easily get them through. Instead they were heading to a small open area a bit aways from the wall itself. There there would be a door hidden in the earth itself and nearly impossible to find unless you knew where it was to begin with. Far enough to not be seen by guards, but it would lead into the city just the same. It was just one of many many secret entrances and escapes from the 'grand' city of Bern.

"Your trust?" muttered Saturos. "If any requires anyone's trust here, it's me requiring yours." Saturos's usually jovial gaze seemed hardened. "Once Aidan is out of prison, my involvement with you is over." Saturos could care less about Judah's rebellion. He had made a promise to Aidan, and that was the promise that would be fulfilled. He wasn't about to dirty his hands for people as shady as this.
After walking a ways in a direction that seemed counter-productive to their goal, Saturos saw the shady man lead them to a rock face. The man hit and turned a few stones revealing a dark path into the earth. Saturos eyed the man as he ducked into the new opening, but remained silent, simply wanting to get into the city at this point. This entrance was cleverly hidden, and doubted they'd run into any guards expecting two swordsman and a light mage to break the great Aiden Lowell out of prison.
"So, Syana," began the myrmidon. "this your first time busting a man out of prison?"

Syana gave a little smile. "First time? Nah, I've been to this rodeo before. Granted..." She looked over the city again, "never on this scale. But, hey, it should be fun, right? Not like there's any real threat." She added sarcastically. She grabbed her sword and started to polish it before what was sure to be a heck of a fight. Half way through, she looked up at Saturos. "By the way, if we make it out of this alive, you're buying me dinner."

Judah carfully noted the location of the hidden entrance. Having this as an option in the future would be good in case he ever had to come back to Bern's capital. The mistrust of virtually everyone there passed over the dark robed acolyte, leaving him unbothered. To people in his line of work, it was natural.
"Where does this lead?" He asked as he entered the darkened space, ignoring the inane prattle and chatter coming from the two sword users.

"Into the city obviously." The smirked as he lead the way. It wasn't very spacious, about the size of a slight spacious hallway. Not too many people could walk side to side without crashing into the wall, as such they walked in more of a line with X at the point. It was small for a reason, if it was too large it would easily collapse into itself, and also would be far more easy to discover. The passage was safe however, it had been here for over a hundred years, they were far from the first to make use of it. It would be murder on anyone with claustrophobia though, the somewhat musty air didn't help.
"More specifically to an inn called The Fellow's Frown. It's a bit into the city, we'll probably be walking for about ten minutes or so. Beats the hours it would take to deal with the paperwork and bribes to get in the normal way." He added, turning his head over. There wasn't much light or any really, but X brought a lantern along. The flame's light flickered and danced across the walls before being swallowed by the darkness completely. It was just a straight line, so even blind someone could get through. They kept a lantern by the door anyways, just in case. "Not long now." He spouted after a few moments of silence and tense air.
------
"Not long now." Kali straightened her robes, looking at her reflection in the mirror. Her hair in a bun so tight that any more, the strands would start popping off her head. Her robes in perfect condition, dark blue like her eyes, and a small smirk on her face. She confidently left her office and hurried over to that of Commander Orion, opening the door and getting slugged in the face by the sheer stench. Taken aback, but not showing it, she turned her gaze to her distinctly drunk commanding officer. Letting out that kind of judgmental sigh that only she can give, she gently touched her forehead and shook it gently. "Orion. Have you been drinking this entire time?"
"No." He lied. Very badly. Like when a child is caught with their hand in the cookie jar, then claims they were only getting it for you. His dark brown hair was messy and looked like it was deciding the most random way to just jut out of his head, then choosing something else. Not even wearing his dress uniform, shame on him.
"Of course." The sarcasm was layered on so thick, it was hard to make out the word hiding underneath. The smell in the room became clear, it was whiskey. Why was the Captain taking this so hard? It didn't make sense to the tactician Kali, he knew the two had a history but she didn't know what it was. When she asked, he deflected all questions. From what she's gathered, they were either friends or rivals... maybe both. "The execution is tomorrow at noon. Captain you need to prepare yourself, as the man who caught him you need to give a speech. She would have to send someone to watch after him. A grown man, and her commander. It was embarrassing.
------
"Here we are." And with a grunt he pushed the heavy trapdoor above them open, flooding light into the small chamber at the end of the hallway. It was a dark room, but any light at all was more then what they were used to. Dusty boxes littered the area, and as the rat like man scurried into the room, he blew out the lantern. There was a few other men waiting in the room, a few decked out in heavy armor. It was the basement of the inn, where only certain people were allowed. Those certain people being the Rebellion.
"My sharp eyes see through this problem, yadda yadda." He was really growing tired of having to say this all the time. He didn't really even need to, since he asked them to wait here in the first place, but if he didn't there would be hissy fits and he really didn't feel like dealing with them. "These men are the ones who will get you into the prison."

Saturos's vision went dark as the mousy man blew out the, but his vision slowly adjusted to the umbra, revealing a rugged looking group of men sitting and standing in various places of the relatively small basement. In normal circumstances, these looked like the type of men that Saturos would choose to avoid, being conflict-aversive as he was, but this was no normal situation and thus abnormal measures would have to be taken. Oh well.
The myrmidon gave a slight bow, introducing himself. "How are you, gentlemen?" he began with a rhetorical question. "My name is Saturos Prox, wandering swordsman and all around everyman. Shifty the squirrel-man here tells me you're helping us break a good friend out of prison? If so, then I'm glad to be aboard."

Judah pulled himself up and out of the trap door. He couldn't help but snickering under his breath at how their guide seemed to be getting fed up with his code phrase.
"Judah." The acolyte simply gave his name. He didn't intend to get himself entangled here for long. That was the plan, anyway. Hopefully, it would work out that way.
The dark robed man grunted, and the shadow of a smile appeared on his face. Shifty. I should remember that one.
"We should get started, hmm?"

"Squirrel? Funny, it's usually rat." The man threw out a short bark of laughter. "I'll have to remember that one." He took a glance over the men, his eyes instantly picked out who was who. No, he'd never met any of them before but he knew regardless.
He reached into his cloak and flung a dagger straight into the skull of a particularly shifty one. "Spies." He said nonchalantly, as if there totally wasn't a dead guy right there. Every other of the people stared in disbelief. "That was Horatio Elgor, a fugitive caught by Ilia two weeks ago. He agreed to spy on the rebels in return for his release." He knew this as fact, there was no room for error in the information market. The other men just stared at him for a moment. He didn't pay them any notice. "Come on, we have some armor for you to try on." And sure enough there was several suits of armor, the same kind worn by the guards of the prison. "If you don't look the part, then this isn't going to go anywhere."

Judah stopped, startled as the body of the dead thug fell across his path. That had been unexpected. He was a bit disgusted that it had nearly fallen right on him, but he'd managed to avoid the corpse at the last second.
Sweeping his cape over what had been a man a moment before as he stepped over the corpse, the acolyte moved to the armor, and stripped down to his trowsers, before sorting out and throwing on the padding and guard uniform. It was uncomfortable compared to the light robes he usually wore, but it would certainly fit in better.
He considered asking if this operation could have been compromised by the spy, but it didn't really matter. It would go forward regardless. The Lowell didn't have any more time to lose.
Nearly finished assembling the gear, he slipped his lightning tome under the chest armor of the guard suit, before grabbing a small pike from the corner. There, it could be quickly reached, should the need arise. Next, he gathered up his belongings which he'd dropped and rolled them up into a ball inside his cloak. Perhaps he'd be able to get it out after a time. He turned back to look at the squirrel-rat, waiting for the start of the next chapter of the rescue.

Saturos eyed the body of the fallen man warily, tip-toeing over it as the corpse's dead eyes stared up at him blankly like a ghoul demanding the Etrurian's soul in return for his untimely but inevitable death. Yes, this was definitely a group he didn't want to set any roots in. Sure, the man had been a spy, and probably a filthy back-stabbing one at that, but the myrmidon didn't really think that was something worth instantly and mercilessly killing the man for. Or did it? Still, it was a bit macabre.
Perhaps Saturos just wasn't cut out for this rebel stuff. The myrmidon shook his head. No, there was no perhaps, he just wasn't. There was a reason he'd been living out in the woods until recently. Things were just easier that way. While he still had no qualms pledging himself to Aidan, he hoped that the nobleman wouldn't require him to work with these shady fellows again.
Following ratty McSquirrel pants into the makeshift armory, Saturos began trying on various pieces of armor, but to little avail. The armor was either tall enough but too wide, or fit snugly but didn't cover nearly enough of his body to not look like a grown man wearing a much smaller grown man's armor, which was...essentially what he was doing. "Uhh..." groaned the Etrurian swordsman as he turned to the man-squirrel, "Do you have anything that would fit me or does the Illian military consist only of meat heads and midgets?"

He rolled his eyes. "If you would look you'd see there's a perfectly good pair against the wall right there. I didn't just grab mismatched armor pieces from whatever I could find. You insult me. Well, technically I didn't grab them at all, but the point remains. That one over there should be relatively close to your measurements." He had known Saturos was coming, the whole group actually, this was planned ahead of time as soon as the wanted posters depicting the entire group were spotted. It wasn't as if he'd never seen the swordsman either, as back in Lacuna where the tournament was held was where Aidan and Saturos met. That also happened to be where he was staying at that moment in time.
Still, he really wished they could all just get on with it. All this waiting and planning for such a mediocre payoff is getting on his nerves. Aidan should of been captured and saved eons ago, and it was just a million little bumps in the road that delayed it for so long. "Hrm..." He hummed to his self, sitting at the edge of the table and tapping in his foot in the air. He looked up at the ceiling, the sounds coming from above them all and the inn they were in. It was getting louder, more crowded. It was nearing noon now. "It's almost time."
He hopped off the edge of the table and looked at the group. "You all dressed? Come on, we need to make haste." He turned his group to the other men that would be accompanying them. They still looked a bit shellshocked from the sudden death in front of them. Ugh, lightweights. Still it was necessary, X needed to show everyone just how he dealt with traitors. If there was one thing he would not stand, it was someone turning on him.

Saturos clapped his hands together with a small gasp of affirmation, proceeding to put on his armor as Sir Squirrelregard continued speaking. The man was right, the armor fit like a glove. Quite convenient really, almost suspiciously so. The Etrurian couldn't fathom how the man had gotten his measurements, scenes of the smaller man crouching over a sleeping Saturos with a tape-measure jumping into his head, but he assumed that, judging by this recent series of events, he had probably been watched for as long as he had been accompanying Aidan.
It made sense, though. Aidan was important to the rebellion. The rebels wouldn't just let him out of their sights as easily as either of them may have thought. It was comforting, but at the same time, a little creepy. Pushing the thoughts out of his mind, Saturos turned back to the much smaller group leader. "I'm as ready as I'll ever be," he said assuredly, and it was true. At this point, the myrmidon was just itching to get things going. It almost reminded him of the old days, what with all this gearing up and preparing for a mission. Saturos did not expect this plan to be executed smoothly. Most likely, part of it would fail, and there was a good chance they would all die. It didn't matter. Better to go down like a man then die a lonely life in a tranquil forest. Wasn't it?

Judah scowled at the delay and the secrecy involved. He scowled at everyone else too, but that could potentially be chalked up to the situation they were in.
"What a relief."
The light user turned to their... whatever he was.... Their contact. "Well, let's hear it. You didn't go through all of this to have us stand here in a darrkened room. Give us the plan, and turn us loose..." The dark robed man seemed agitated. It had occurred to him, just how blind he was going into this job. "You wouldn't be planning on joining us, now would you? I'm sure there will be plenty of excitement for all of us." He held back from laughing as he said this, though his mouth did quirk into a short grin. He didn't expect the man to join in on their little escapade.

Syana stood next to Saturos. She had been silent for a little while now, thinking over everything that they were about to do. Aka die. Cause, honestly, they were probably going to die. Granted, they could live. People have survived dumber things than invading a castle to save a single guy, so there was that. And if she did die, she'd go out proudly and fighting. She'd make her family proud. But. She'd really rather not die, cause dying sucks. Besides, Saturos has yet to take her out on a date, and go help her, that was going to happen. Hopefully.
She looked up at the sword fighter next to her and whispered, "We're all going to die, aren't we?"

Saturos looked down at his red haired friend. Were they all going to die? Not necessarily. Well, most likely, yes, the plan would go south, they would be caught by Ilians, strung up, and executed as rebels disrupting the peace of the nation of Bern. But no, not necessarily.
But was that the honest answer? Was Saturos just fooling himself? Most men survive at least one near death situation in their lifetime, but two? It wasn't likely for a man to escape two. The first one was supposed to keep you from running into a second one, so most people didn't run headlong into their death. Saturos, though, wasn't most people.
But this wasn't about him. This was about Aidan, a man to whom Saturos had pledged his life already. This, however, was also about Syana. As tough as she may be, could Saturos die knowing he had led the girl to certain doom and told her otherwise? No, probably not.
Well then, the only solution now was to, well, not die, or at least keep everyone else from dying.
"No, not all of us," responded the myrmidon, his attempted and usual peppy mood shadowed by a figurative dark cloud over his head. "Not all of us."
