There was some commotion over there, but that wasn't what was important. Aidan wasn't bothering enough to pay it any attention. Instead he just sat in his cell, head up and looking at the ceiling. He scratched his rough beard, they were paranoid to even allow the man a shave. Maybe they thought he'd headbutt the barber, steal his razor and try to escape. A thoroughly stupid plan that ends with lotsa spears piercing his body, in fact he was a bit insulted that they thought he would even do such a thing.
If he did escape, it would be a lot more low key. That's assuming if he escaped though, chances pointed to him being hung soon as the carefully laid plans of Ilia dictated. Unlike the last prison, this guard was disciplined enough to bark at Aidan to shut up everytime he opened his mouth. That didn't stop him though, he continued as he was shouted at for silence. It was actually kinda fun to see the guard get so mad over being ignored. They weren't gonna kill him before it was time, the worst they could do is refuse him food. Which they did. Oh.... Why did he have to think that? His stomach shuddered in an empty pain.
He gazed at his cuffs with a sigh. They were uncomfortable and dug into his flesh, probably because they were designed for smaller arms then his. He kept one knee propped up while the over was stretched across the cold stony floor. He wiggled his toes, not for any real reason but to have something to look at.
"Well... atleast I'm home. Hi Bern." He chuckled.
"Silence in there!"

"Aidan Lowell." The man looked at his drink with a blank look on his face. He was unsure of how to feel about this, all of this. On the one hand, it all made sense. The son of a disgraced noble house rising against the Ilian government that occupied his country and removed his family from power. It was a tale of revenge... only Aidan was not like that. Not unless he had changed in the last six years.
The drink in his hand was a nice amber color, and with a sigh Orion gulped it down at once.
"Commander Orion." She appeared as if on cue. "You shouldn't be drinking like that." She scolded, and he more or less just rolled his eyes.
"Kali, they have had me here for far longer then I wanted, and they're gonna keep me around even longer. There's talk of promotions because of capturing Aidan, sending me to Ilia and oversee the Bandit routing operation there because that new Lance-Captain, Marle I think her name was, is busy off in Sacae for some reason or another." He grumbled. This was an honor, or atleast it was supposed to be. All Orion saw it was of a burden.
"That or having me over see the Bernese Rebels and crushing them. That's even worse." He thought the rebels were misguided, and he could easily see his self in their shoes. It made everything more... more human then just casually slaying bandits like it was nothing. The rebels, misguided as they may be, were fighting fiercely for what they believe in. It was hard for a Bern native like him to actively want to kill them.
"Commander." She sounded almost mad, it was a scold perhaps.
"Ilia is no place for a wyvern knight." He sighed as he put the glass down, grabbing the bottle sitting near him and filling it up again. "You wouldn't understand, you're Ilian."
She gave him a dirty look that surpassed what mere words had to say about what she felt. "Alright. I see how it is." She scoffed.
"I didn't mean it like that." He groaned, dragging his hand across his face. "Don't get mad."
"It's alright commander..." She sighed. Straightening herself out she looked at him again. "The hanging will be soon. You should get ready so you can show up." And with a slight bow, she left the room.
Orion just stared into his glass. "Not sober I will."
-----
"I said silence!"
"Or what? You'll stab me?" Aidan cocked a single eyebrow.
"Y-Yes!" The young man screeched.
"Go ahead, beats being hanged and it will get you discharged." Aidan laughed. He was only going to be alive for a little longer, no point in being stoic.
"I... I said silence!" He sounded defeated for a second there.

The guard eyed Aidan suspiciously as he sat there silently. He looked over to the left, it was a blank stony wall. The bars in front of the door were filled with the visage of a young man who looked severely irritated. All these soldiers were so young, he remembered back when he served in the military. Before he was discharged, of course. Dishonorably too, by Ilia. It was one of the first things Ilia did when they took sovereignty.
"What is it?" Aidan asked the man staring at him.
"Silence." The man replied, as if it was just a natural reaction. "I was just taking a good look at the infamous Aidan Lowell before he is killed for all to see." The man smiled like a demon, a cruel sound to every word he said.
"Ah, I see then." Aidan made a slight humming noise as he thought. "You're Bernese, aren't you?"
"Silence." The man said with a scowl, one that basically told him what he needed to know.
"I thought so, you stand like a Bernese soldier. Ilians are different." Aidan muttered as he spoke, ignoring the man's demands for him to be quiet. He said silence again, but Aidan continued. "You have a sort of confidence in your step. Unity might be the word I'm looking for. Ilians have been uniting more tightly lately, but that underlying layer of every man for his self always remains." Aidan mused, not even sure his self of what he was getting at. "Tell me then, my family. Before all of this happened, did you like us?"
"Silence!" He barked.
"I'll take that as a yes, otherwise you would of called me a worm or something or another." Aidan knew, that if he could, the man would walk in and gag him. But he couldn't, he couldn't open this door no matter how angry Aidan made him. Otherwise he could... bonk him or something. No, the only thing that entered or left this room was food. And that stopped a while ago when Aidan got the guard mad.
"Now. My family, the Lowells, are considered traitors of Bern. Why is that? Is it because we followed the King? Or is it because Ilia said so? Never have we betrayed Bern, in the thousand years of time we were nobility." Aidan spoke as the man grew slightly more frantic with each utterance of the words silence. It was slowly losing all meaning as a word to the knight.
"I have no doubts you hate me, especially now as your throat is burning from all this yelling. I'm just curious. Do you hate me because of me? Or... because you are told to?" The man sounded ready to snap.
"I SAID SILENCE!" He shouted as loud as he could. Aidan just smirked.
"Alright, alright. I'll pipe down."

Aidan sat silently in his cell. His guard red in the face and watching every single movement he made. He could open his mouth to yawn and he'd be shouted at to be silently, looks like someone was mad. Aidan just sighed though, and after being yelled at he continued his little staring at the ceiling. He was busy thinking of what everyone was doing. Saturos, Lyar, Syana... His sister and father... Clair, she's probably back in Ilia by now, assuming they won that battle. Richter was a competent man, they probably did.
Saturos, Lyar, and Syana... Even Aevian. They traveled with him to this place. Saturos said he was honored to fight with him, something that made the weary soldier smile. Lyar was the closest thing he had to a friend for the longest time. Syana was the one he didn't know, the girl seemed to treat him with a certain level of aloofness. It was his impression she cared about Saturos, rather then the knight his self, which he didn't mind. He wondered what they must be doing now. He would love to imagine they scurried out of Bern, and took refuge in a place that will hopefully be less chaotic. But he knew better then to think such foolish thoughts. No, they had to go and be noble human beings who he trusted are scratching their head in some way to try to save him.
That brought his thoughts to his sister. Was this part of her plan? Did she want him to be captured, or did her careful and meticulous planning all ended up for nothing? Was she too planning on trying to help him escape? It was pointless to think such thoughts, it was far more likely his body will be strung up for all to see. The Ilian's wanted to believe they've captured a leader of the Bernese Rebellion, and they would defy truth and logic to make Aidan into one. Never have he fought one battle with them, and according to Ilia he helped lead them.
His death would be a blow to the way they looked. A band of people who relied so heavily on recruiting common folk could not take such a blow. It would make them look weak, powerless to change a thing even if it was a load of lies. There was no way to prove he wasn't connected, but a million ways to create evidence that he did. Witnesses, paperwork, lies, they were all easy enough to craft... and the people would believe it. All they needed was Aidan's body, and he was disgusted be giving such a thing to them. It was more then his life now, the rebellion needed him to live... Even if he meant nothing to them.

Max walked towards Aidan's cell, carrying a tray with bread and soup on it. He was wearing a different armor, not his black armor but just a simple white armor. The wyvern rider disguised himself as one of the prison guards.
Yesterday, he and his squad of wyvern riders arrived in the capital. The rebel had been infiltrating the prison and the castle since they started the rebellion. They supposed to give important informations about Ilia's move but they could help the prisoners escape as well. Now, he was heading to the cell of the man who would be executed soon, they called him the leader of rebellion, or rather they gave him that role. But Max wasn't here to free him, he just wanted to confirm with his own eyes. Who was this man? Could he be useful for Bern? The decision to help him or not help him would be made after he saw him.
Max arrived in front of his cell. He stared at the soldier who standing here to guard the cell. He was not the same soldier who always yelled "Silence!" This soldier was a rebel member, Max could only visit Aidan at his shift. He then unlocked the door and entered the cold cell.
Inside, he saw a man. He didn't look well, but who would look well in a prison? He put the tray on the floor and walked towards Aidan. He didn't bother to take off his helm as he stopped in front of him, looking at him.
"So...You are the leader of the rebellion? Why did you declare yourself as the leader?" His eyes glaring at him from behind his helm, demanding a good answer.

"Ah, so now I'm the leader I see." Aidan laughed, his back pressed to the wall, weakly he looked up to the man who entered his room. "I've been called many things, but this is the first time I've ever been the 'leader of the rebellion' it makes sense though. A leader is a much more appeasing fish to catch in your net then just some old soldier." He shook his head slightly as he talked, an almost smug grin stretched across his face. "I've never declared myself as such, that is only what Ilia has made of me."
"I'll take it you aren't a soldier though. Or perhaps you are, and just a very dumb one." He made a slight groaning as he stood up, his legs feeling a bit weak from lack of use. With a short second of thinking he looked at the soldier once again. "No, I suppose you're not. Still it's a welcome change from the one who speaks only in silences." His hands remained bound, but that wasn't any reason to underestimate him.
"So, who are you? Here to kill me? As you can see, I'm in little place to fight back, so go on ahead."

Max glared at the man. "Don't play dumb, Aidan Lowell." Max move forward and punched his shoulder. "You should have known that I am pretty damn serious now, huh?" Great, this man had guts, he didn't look intimidated, instead he looked calm. Whoever he was, he wasn't a normal prisoner.
Max tried to be calm, he couldn't let this man get him, he might be trying to provoke him. "Okay. I think I will change my question." Max suddenly pushed Aidan, pinning him against the wall. He wouldn't play soft, it wasn't his style.
"WHAT are you Aidan Lowell? Don't tell me you are thinking I don't know anything about Lowells!" Max said. "Which side are you?"

He stood there, hands cuffed and unable to fight back. He was not scared, he stopped being scared a long time ago. The man punched him in the shoulder, should of went for the face. It didn't hurt, not really, his body was hardened from years of fighting with that heavy armor. Even without it on, Aidan was a hardy man. "Serious? Why I never doubted that you weren't. If you hadn't been serious, you would of never gotten this far. It takes determination to a facade to infiltrate a headquarters, especially one as robust as this. If you hadn't been serious, you'd be dead."
Anger seemed to flood the man, clouded his thoughts. He felt his self being shoved against the wall, but the knight's disposition remained ever the same. "What am I? I'm a soldier who just wanted to come home and visit his family." There was not a trace of deceit in his words, because they were absolutely true. Never did he ask for all of the things that happened to him. "I'm a shirtless man with a beard stuck in jail, if you want to be more specific."
"I am Aidan Lowell, you say you know about us. I wonder... how much do you know? You must know of my sister, it would explain all this anger. She's not the most pleasant person." He laughed, despite being pinned against the wall. "I'm not on a side, any side." He almost felt like laughing, he was about to indulge his self on self-pity. But he didn't, it did no good. "Atleast I wasn't, when this all began. I was a coward who ran."
He stared at the man with his dark eyes. A helmet was in the way, but that didn't stop him any. He wanted to make sure the man could see his eyes, so he could see just how serious he was. "But... I"m also a man who can't just stand there when people are in need. That was how I was captured, and I don't regret a thing except not being able to help everyone. I say if Ilia wishes to make me into some big bad wolf... so be it. And if that makes you want to kill me... so be it. Though if you wish to, you should hurry. I hear the demand for dead Aidans is quite high these days."

Max heard his answer, he tried to understand his every words. This man was really something, Max smiled a bit. Somehow, he felt like watching a mirror. Max released him and took few steps backwards, he waited him to gather his breath, though that seemed not necessary. "I don't have any intention to kill you. I came here because I heard the rumor about you." Max watched him with his silver eyes. "You are pretty calm for someone who will be executed in few days." He turned and headed towards the door after saying that.
"Hey, how long until the next shift?" Max asked the guard who was actually the member of rebellion. The guard thought for a second then answered his question with a shrug. "Around half a hour." Max nodded and patted his shoulder, leaving him outside to speak with Aidan again.
"You might have figured out. The purpose of making you a leader of rebellion is to lower the morale of Bern citizens." Max leaned against the wall. "But it is a double edged blade for them. What do you think would happen if this 'Leader' escape?" Max walked towards him, smirking.

The man let Aidan down, or well stopped pushing him against the wall at least. Back on his feet he stood there, a small smile on his face. "I figured as much, an assassin wouldn't go through so much trouble. They would of poisoned that soup and left." The man had the look of a soldier, but not of the kind Aidan was used to. He was brash, bold, if not a bit stupid for doing all of this. It was his guess that he was a member of the rebellion, here to access the truth behind the situation... if there was any. "Calm? I suppose I am." You can whine, scream and struggle all you want, it won't change a thing. All that time you waste worrying about the life of your that is ticking down, is time wasted. "No point in getting upset, all that time worry can be used for better, more important things. Like driving your guard to the point of tears from frustration." He laughed a small and slightly dirty laugh. "I suppose he was more then happy to switch off guard duty."
He called out to some man he didn't recognize, probably another rebellion member as he wasn't freaking out and murdering the soldier in front of him for leaving the door open for so long. "The possibility did cross my mind, yes." He almost felt like laughing, that was something he figured out the second he knew he was wanted. He also knew why this happened. But that was neither here nor there, nor was it the time to worry about it. "I think... That Ilia will look like a royal fool."

"Royal fool...Hah! It will be better that just that." Max took the bread which he carried for Aidan and ate it himself, he wouldn't touch the soup though. Munching the bread, he looked up at the ceiling. "I bet you had known who I am. No use to hide it anymore." Max swallowed the last piece of the bread as he said.
"I am Maximillian, an ex-Bern soldier. Now, I am a member of rebellion." Max told him his identity without hesitation which made the rebel member outside the cell flinched. "I am going to get you out of here, but it needs time. I have underestimated them, I just have twenty wyvern riders with me, I doubt it would be enough." Max sighed, the prison had been guarded heavily after Aidan came here.
"But...I want to ask you. What would you do after you get out of here?" He stared at him.

"Well Maximillian, I'm Aidan Lowell... though I'm sure that's pretty obvious." He grinned a somewhat lopsided smile, playful and more then a little bit relieved. "A member of the rebellion, yes I figured as much."
"What will I do? First, I will find a shirt and maybe get a shave." He laughed. "Afterwards I'll try to find my sister and figure out what she wanted so badly, and her hand in all this. Then... well I suppose if you will have me... I'd extend my hand and my help to the rebellion. I'm just one man, but maybe all of this hype that Ilia built up... will work beautifully against them."
"Personally, I wouldn't worry so much. I have a feeling this has already been planned out in advance. Not to say we won't run into walls..." He added with a small mutter. "But I don't think they will be anything we can't ram through if we beat at it with out heads. And trust me, I'm very hard headed."

"Yeah, you are right. You do need to shave." Max laughed, he didn't expect his answer, very funny. "Glad to hear that. We need all help we can get to kick the Ilian out of our country. Actually, I was given an order to invite you to join us if possible. A man like you would be a great help for us."
"And with your family status, it would be a great boost to have you with us. We actually have some internal problems within our ranks but you don't need to know about it now. We will tell you later." Max thought about the chance of more people joining them if this plan was success. It was risky though, they had to show Aidan to public to make everyone know about his successful escape. It would damage Ilia's plan and weaken their position.
"I have ideas how to save you in my mind. But I am open to suggestion. Well?"

"First off... You should really uncuff me. I'm not use to anyone if I can't even hold a lance." The knight held up his steel cuffs that tightly clung onto his arms, digging into his flesh. He'd gotten used to the discomfort long ago, a few days perhaps. Time was funny if all you did was sit in a cell, meal time and guard shifts were the only things that broke it apart. And he'd stop getting meal a while ago. "What day is it..." He muttered, trying to think. The answer wasn't coming, he didn't even know how long he had been asleep after being knocked out. Hours? Days?
He turned his head to Max, "Speaking of which, it might be good to give me a lance if you're serious about all of this. I don't enjoy being a liability." He looked at the soldier Max, up and down... He could tell, just by the way he carried his self that he wasn't a novice. "As for a plan... I can't say that I have one. I was blindfolded on my way down, I couldn't see the layout at all. I've been in here before, but that was six or so years ago, so I don't remember it well. The violent way out is also the suicidal way out. I could disguise myself as a soldier... but I have a funny feeling that might now work all that well."

"Don't worry about that. We have saved your weapon and armor from the storage room. When the time come, you will grip your lance again, and probably kill some Ilians." Max chuckled. Although he hadn't ever been prisoned, he could understand if Aidan felt bored or frustrated, this place was dirty, no sunlight, just torches. His brows flinched as he noticed a skeleton in the corner of the room. "Well, at least you have a friend here." Max approached the skeleton, he took out a small dagger from his leather boot and hid it under the bones. "There is no place to hide a lance in this cell until the day we get you out of here, but this must be enough for you to protect yourself if you were in danger."
"Well, with so many guards around, our best chance is to escape with wyverns or through the sewer." Max shrugged, he didn't lose hope but he knew this wouldn't be easy. "I should have known that they would increase the number of the guards. Now, it's harder than we planned."
"I hope there will be a miracle, like three strong fighters suddenly come and help us. Well, that seems unlikely though." Max tried to make a joke but he realized that it was not funny at all.
