*Zero yawned lightly as he stretched out his arms and his back adjusted the sheath around his waist and brushed aside a few strands of his hair and gave a small grin of content to everyone,as he readied himself to continue traveling the world. Hoping the large man and the female theif would join alongside him.*
"Well if you guys wish to come along with me feel free,I honestly have no idea on where my journey will be taking me in the next few days but we Sacaen's believe that traveling is better when done with companions. Besides, if I get ambushed by brigands again I may not survive if I am on my own. Sure the swordsmanship I've learned from my father has helped before, but if I'm greatly outnumbered it won't be much of a help."
*Zero quickly pivoted around for a moment, almost ready to head out of the small town and seek out more adventures and continue on his journey before stopping briefly for a moment and turning his neck to face the others.*
"However, there's just one thing I've got on my mind right now. I...really have no clue where I'll be heading whatsoever, I'm not entirely familiar with the world outside of Sacae and small parts of Bern and...I'm not carrying a map on me either."

Mel sighed softly and turned on her heel with a flourish to stare at the men behind her sizing them both up. Joel on one hand was the size of a mountain, tall with large muscles to boot. She whistled softly at the thought of it coming into use. Though...the man was a damn pacifist! How was he to be of any use? Well at least he was intimidating to a large degree, that would be rather nice to have around.
"I am not some thief like that, I know I can't steal everything you do know. Other than that I am not so little..."
Her harsh gaze turned to Zero "I have nowhere I am headed and yet it is everywhere all the same..." Mel turned to the giant "what have you say Joel? After your pants are fixed of course"

Joel listened to the two talk with a smile. "Well, Zero, why would one need a map when they have a man who has wandered the country for... Ha, I've lost count of how many years it's been." Joel chuckled. "Of course, I'm no living map either; I go where my legs take me. So, while I may not be able to provide directions, we can buy a map with some money. But thats not real adventuring! Real adventuring is when you have no damn idea where you're going, but you go there anyway."
Joel reached up with his right arm, attempting to relieve an itch in the middle of his back. Failing at that, he squirmed a little bit, and then dropped his arm. "Aye, let's go get my pants fixed. And then Zero can buy a map and I can buy what I need and we can be off!"

(OoC: Special permission to join from Izzy)
A small girl walked through the quiet town holding a large number of books. If one were to look at these books, they would see classics such as "Life After Death," "Unkicking the Bucket," and "Alchemy for Dummies."
With most of the books tucked under an arm, Dee walked around while reading one of them with her other arm. This book was titled "The Magnificent Adventures of Crowley." Not exactly an interesting read for sure, there wasn't nearly enough information about Crowley's battle with Roland in it. Was the ancient hero's body decayed? Did he have memory of his life?
"Feh." she said, throwing the book on the ground. A waste of time.
Dee tried to pull another book out from under her arm, but her foot tripped over something. A small groove in the dirt probably. Books and papers went flying all over the street. "Ow..." she moaned, as she tried to pick herself up off of the ground. Dee's knee prickled with blood as she sat on the ground, about to cry. Standing was futile, it seemed, so she picked up what she could from around her, occasionally seeing people walk by not giving her a second thought.
Oh Uncle Jones... where did you go?

As Zero was getting ready to make the group's final preparations for their journey, an unusual sight cause his eye as he strolled through the town. It was a young girl quite possibly in her early teens at most. From the clothing she was wearing and the books she was carrying, Zero assumed she was some sort of magic user quite possibly a new student at that.
Zero briefly looked around the area and made a small gesture to the others in his group that he needed a moment to do something,as he calmly approached the young girl, and offered to help her onto her feet,he smiled warmly as he outstretched his left hand towards her, gently brushing aside his hair from his face with his other hand.
"Excuse me young lady, is something the matter with you? You seem quite troubled and upset, is there anything I could do to help? Well...if you don't mind getting some assistance that is. I honestly have no clue why those townsfolk would just ignore you like this, they were fairly hospitable to me, and I'm a Sacaen traveler at that!"

Vashnar wasn't surprised that the people ignored him and then left him standing there after how he greeted himself. Oh well, you can't have everything he thought as he walked back into the mainstream of people. He noticed that the Myrmidon (Zero was his name?) helped up a young girl who had tripped and scattered her books all over the pavement. Noticing one at his feet, Vashnar picked it up, wiped of the dirt and grime and went over to return the book to the girl. "Excuse me miss, but I believe you dropped this?"

Mel stretched up lightly scratching Joel's back as she turned her head slightly to the side watching the young girl fall from the corner of her eye. Quickly she caught the titles of the books as they fell to the ground checking to see if any one was of immediate interest. In other words worth some nice pocket change for her. The titles were common, and of no worth though...
Jumping up she gripped onto Joel's shoulders quickly lifting herself up onto her back and peering over his shoulder to see of anything else on her but...she was only a child, and it was not in her tastes to steal from one so young. Well...in most cases. But this seemed to be just a simple mundane child crying out in the street trying to gather up her things. Though she was surprised how the people just walked by not even noticing.
Then of course the oh so noble Sacean stepped forward to take charge softly brushing her hair and helping her to her feet. Some people would even take it the wrong way from affar, but she supposed that he was so idiotically fine that he did not even realize anything wrong with it in the slightest.
Grumbling softly to herself she slipped down off of Joel knife flashing in the sunlight as she sliced off his shirt stealthily moving towards the previously fallen child ripping it into strips and wrapping her knee stuffing the leftovers into her pouch. "Why is a mere child traveling alone?" he asked harshly brow raised high.

Joel smiled as Mel relieved the itch in the middle if his back, and so thus ignored her when she lifted herself onto his back. He frowned when she sliced open his shirt, however; no matter how much he disliked it, it was a formality best observed. She would have to pay for it's repair as well. Joel scowled as he took it off, baring his torso to the world, and placed the remnants if the shirt in his one good pocket. It seemed as if the little group had moved over to help a little girl who had dropped some of her books. Joel shook his head at them, and then moved forward.
"While I am sure the girl appreciates your concern, I do not think it's a good idea to crowd her." Joel growled, folding his arms so that his hands grasped the metal wristbands that were the last remaining testimony to his service for bandits. His gaze softened considerably upon moving to the girl. Still maintaining his distance, he dropped down to one knee so he was closer to her level. "Pray tell, lass, what is the matter, aside from the dropped books? Have you been injured in any way? My name is Joel... What is yours?"

A small group of people who Dee hadn't even noticed came to help her out. How kind... she thought, It's rare to see mercenaries so kind to strangers.
"Um, thank you, miss." she said to the girl who bandaged her leg. "I got seperated from my uncle, you see. Oh, I'm such a klutz without him..."
Dee didn't look the Sacean man in the eye. "Oh, thanks..." she said to him. Her uncle had told her to always be wary of the Saceans. An odd lot of people who worshipped dirt and air or something silly like that. She didn't think she had even seen one coming into Bern, not that she was actively looking for them.
Another man brought her the book she had thrown away. That book about Crowley the Magnificent. "Oh, I don't need that book anymore. You can have it." she said.
Finally, a huge man appeared. He spoke to Dee, but she was speachless in response. Mainly out of disgust. What kind of man went around towns half-naked?!
Still, it would be rude to not give her name, these people had helped her after all. "I'm... Dee..." she said meekly, kind of scared by the large man.
"Well, thank you..." she said again, trying to stand up once more. Her knee gave out from under her though, still injured.

Zero nodded in compliance and glanced over towards Mel's direction, nodding at her initiative to bandage the young girl's wounded leg as he crouched down slightly as his face took a friendly but somewhat stern expression as he called over to Joel.
"Joel! It's nothing serious, but I don't think she should be walking at the moment with her condition. It's nothing a vulnerary can't fix but we need to save them for emergencies, you wouldn't mind carrying her on your back now would you?"
Zero calmly sighed as he glanced towards the young girl, glancing at her somewhat sternly but trying to ease her at the same time,as he stood up and stretched his arms out he pondered for a moment and let out a sigh.
"I can understand if your uncomfortable around Sacaens, people always assume we're strange people, and savages who roam the land cause they have no true home. But I can assure you this, what I always learned from my tribe was to help young ones in need and always be honest...it's a code of honor for us I guess."

She nodded at Joel's observation taking a large step back unsure as of what to do with a child having never had to deal with one...that she remembered. Sighing softly she observed how the other's treated her like a fragile object not understanding it very much, she wouldn't shatter would she?
"Do you know where your uncle was headed?" she asked lightly unsure how to approach the topic. "He wouldn't leave the city without you I assume, do you know where you can meet up with him or easily find him? I think it is better for you to find him sooner than later."
Watching her discomfort around the two men she grumbled to herself patting the kid's head like a dog or some other creature's. "They are both harmless" she assured her "the big one is like a large stuffed child's toy and the other is stupidly honest, nothing to be afraid of little one."
Mel brushed her hair back for a moment and looked to Joel and then to Zero "why cant you carry her?" she asked the Sacaen "I have to go take care of Joel's lack of clothing and you can take her to find her uncle yes?"

"If you don't mind, I could help as well" Vashnar said to the group that helped the girl and felt REALLY left out. "I have nowhere to be and thought maybe I could maybe then assist the girl and her uncle when they travel" he told Zero as Vashnar helped the girl onto his back and Mel went off with the giant. "Thank you for the book miss. now let's see about finding your uncle" Vashnar said as he slipped the book into his traveling bag.

Joel stood back up after realizing he had frightened the girl, and then turned away from her to face Mel. "This is your fault." he growled, and then turned back to the group. "Zero, armor, watch the girl until her uncle shows up. Wait here for me and Mel to return." The giant cracked his knuckles, and then turned back to Mel. "Come on, let's be quick about this." He began to follow Mel, but then turned around once more to Dee. "She sliced my shirt off." he explained, and then lumbered after the thief.

Zero grumbled as he let out a deep sigh of dissapointment glancing towards the female theif,as he glanced in her direction and his cheerful demeanor soon become a cold and serious stare, squinting his eyes to clearly convey that he was upset with her comment.
"Honest? Yes,but I'm definitely not stupid at all and I'm sure I can prove that to you soon enough Mel. But fine, I'll watch after the girl while you and Joel go and find some clothing I really don't want to look at that you know." The Sacaen unsheathed his sword as he sat down underneath a shady tree as he pulls out a white cloth from inside his pack, calmly polishing the shining metal blade as he eye'd the Knight holding the young mage.
"My apologies for treating you so gently miss,I figured you were injured but now I can tell your a student of magic, yes? Magic always seemed amazing to me, cause there aren't really any Sacaen mages in the world and as a result I've never really seen it but only heard of it from stories that the tribe elders told. Tell me miss what field of magic do you study?"
(OOC:A short post, but I figured Dee would have a little more to work with if I posted again.)

" Wait, wait, WAIT!!!!" Dee screamed. She knew that she hadn't exactly explained much, but these people were just assuming things up and down the place. "I mean uh.... please stop with your assuming, if you wouldn't mind..."
"Yes, I got separated from my uncle, as I said, but that doesn't mean he's around here." she explained quietly, "You see, we escaped from Ostia together, but I lost sight of him by the time I got to Santaruz. I waited for him for some time, but, he never showed up..."
"I didn't know what to do," she continued, "So I continued my studies without him, moving from place to place looking for different sources of knowledge."
"I'm sorry to bore you with my story, but you were getting a lot of it wrong... I don't know where my uncle is, and I don't know when he'll find me, but I know he'll find me regardless of where I am." She smiled knowing that what she said was true, even if these people didn't.
As half of the group left, Zero had started talking to her. Why was he talking to her? He was just a Sacean, a savage. She gave a short reply while still not giving eye contact, "Light."
