The nearly seven foot giant, Joel, meandered through the small Bern town, a little unhappy with his shirt and the way it was just... Scratchy all over. He itched his shoulder, as much to remove the nuisance as to check that his axe was still strapped to his back. He so rarely wore it like this, and it was much like his shirt: strange, irritating, and something he would remove upon leaving this town. He was just getting away from his last job (repairing the roof and southernmost wall of a shed), the jingle of a few honestly-earned coins in his pocket. Joel stopped for a few minutes, looking around (and getting more than just a few odd looks from the townsfolk), until he found what he was looking for: the local church.
It was a small building, and Joel didn't really believe in most of what was preached at those places, but still, churches had been good to him in his time of need. He always felt compelled to count a few of his blessings whenever he had a chance. So, relieving an itch on his chest, Joel walked towards the holy building. It really wasn't much to look at, but then again, this was a small town and looks were often deceiving. He opened the door (grateful that they had been built taller than normal doors, as he did not need to lean forward or even tilt his head to through the doorway), and looked around the small church. A rather young-looking priest had his head on the wooden altar and his back to the door, although whether he was sleeping or praying was not obvious. Joel silently slipped into on the pews towards the back, attempting to fit himself in so that he could kneel. It took him a few minutes to realize this was impossible, so Joel just closed his eyes, moved his head so it faced the floor, and prayed. He maintained this pose for roughly three minutes before a snore snapped him back into reality, and he suppressed a laugh as he realized the priest was asleep. Joel exited the little church directly after.
He flexed his arms and cracked his neck as he pondered what to do next. He could probably look around this town for more work, or he could head on out and continue wandering. Either way, Joel thought with a smile, I'm going to take this shirt off soon. It's driving me nuts.

Mel sat up with a slight sigh from a small table in the inn she had stayed at the previous night and gathered up her belongings to leave. Snatching up a loaf of hard black bread from a nearby table filled with travelers mesmerized by the bard singing ballads in the corner and too stupid to notice their empty purses. Slipping the coins into her purse with a satisfying clink of money against money the girl slipped out the door into the bright sunlight.
For a few moments she stood blinded, large round blue eyes blinking in the light of the warm noonday sun. The streets where full of people hailing from all corners of the continent. Markets were full of fresh produce and a little man well rounded round the belly called out for challengers to join into the arena's ultimate gamble. Though Mel was in the midst of a wave of sounds, smells, and colors what drew her attention the most was the soft almost inaudible sounds of coins clanging together. Surrounding her were many full purses of many people from many backgrounds. The idea of it made chills ripple up her spine and make her hair stand on end, there were so many people to yet accomplish testing their wits that it made her hear beat quickly and steady her hand to discipline herself. "A greedy thief is always one to be caught..." she spoke to herself in a soft voice, forcing herself to realize now was not the time for such petty things.
Out of the corner of her eye she spied the ornate church seeming so neat and tidy compared to its surrounding mayhem of the city. She was not one for religion, well not that she actually knew much about it anyways but she assumed it would not be anything of interest to her anyways, too many rules and restrictions. Lost in mindless muses she spied a giant just leaving the church. Never before had sheen seen one of his size and strength and from the axe on his back he seemed to use it as well. A slight smirk forming on her lips the girl began to whistle a merry tune a knife slipping out of its sheath as she brushed by him the knife cutting cleanly and without any tug through his pocket coins falling into her outstretched hand as she continued along heading into an alley positive the buffoon had not realized a thing.

Zero calmly walked out of the arena finally, as he looked to the sky he judged by the sun's position that it was in the afternoon now, after all he had woken up just before dawn to make it to the arena before the lines got long. He calmly brushed aside a few strands of his blue hair away from his eyes, made sure his sword was fastened tightly onto his hip and checked his packs to make sure his winnings were secure.
Having taken those precautionary measures,he leisutely walked off around the town taking in the sights before going off to continue his journey. A smirk sat upon his face, a smirk of satisfaction from his recent victory at the arena but it was only the beginning, he wished to find more opponents to fight. However,he felt he should take it easy for the day and instead strolled lazily about the town looking for something to do and was nearly awe-struck when he came across a large man and rushed off towards him as his size was quite familiar. As he approached him, he gave a cheerful greeting to the tall and muscled man.
"Vince? Hey Vince is that you? I'm glad to see you survived that fight with bandits we had a couple days ago but where is your armor? Is it so damaged you were unable to wear it anymore?"
He quickly noticed a tear in the man's pockets of his pants, and quickly tapped him on the arm to alert him of what had happened.
"Um Excuse me sir, but it seems as though your pants pocket has been cut open, quite possibly by a local theif or a trouble-making child."

Joel noticed the sly smirk on the whistling girl's face as she walked past, but ignored her for the moment. It was when he realized that his recently earned gold pieces were missing that he realized just why she had been smirking. But before he could barrel after her and retrieve his money, he heard the call for a man named Vince. He ignored it, but realized the person was coming closer, so he turned around. A blue-haired man was walking towards him, asking why he wasn't in his armor and saying he was glad he was alive. And then he reached a hand out, telling him his pants had been cut. "Blast..." Joel grumbled. They would have to be repaired...
"Sorry to disappoint ya, lad, but my name is Joel, not Vince. I hope your friend is all right though. Perhaps we can talk in a moment? I need to retrieve my money." And with that, Joel began barreling after the thief, people jumping out of his way.
"Hey there, lass! Stop right there!" he roared upon seeing the girl. He covered the distance between them in but two strides. "I believe you have some of my money." Joel put one huge hand on her shoulder, spinning her around to look at his face.

Mel heard the man roar out like a bear, rather suitable for one with features such as those and a height like that. She walked leisurely along pretending that she did not know who the man was after whistling her merry tune a plan already forming in her mind as for what to do in the current situation.
When she was spun around roughly she stared at the man a with straight face "can I help you?" she asked raising a brow. "I have no money but what I rightfully earned and that is not your money, go try to frighten people out of their money but I wont fall for it!" she exclaimed rather loudly the surrounding people giving Joel dirty looks.
Sighing she pulled out her purse and opened it onto her palm "can you show me what gold is yours? If you are so certain show me which are yours?" A slight smile graced her lips at that wondering if he could even figure out how to pass the test of knowledge and logic. Most people could not but maybe...

Zero stood there for a few moments slightly puzzled and embarassed with himself for the big scene he had suddenly made as people begins flocking towards the surrounding area nearby. He calmly scratched his head, adjusted his belt and scanned the area carefully with his keen eyes trying to see what the commotion was all about. Taking notice of multiple townsfolk heading off for a side-street into a narrow alleyway he wondering wether he wanted to follow after them or not.
"Hmm I guess that gigantic man clearly isn't Vince,I guess he appears just as tall as Vince but to be honest I guess I've never quite seen Vince without his armor anyways. That was quite an embarassing episodes I put on over there, but never mind that, that strange man ran off into that alley and now several people followed after him. I can even hear yelling going off in the distance, I better take a look myself."
Zero gripped tightly onto the hilt of his sword, but didn't draw it from it's sheath just yet, rather keeping himself at the ready in case of an unpredicted skirmish. As he ran down the streets he turned the corner and ran into the narrow alleyway where he saw the large man and the townsfolk, surrouding them was gray haired female.
"What is going on here everyone? Your not the woman who cut this innocent Man's pocket is it? I didn't get to see who it was, but there is clearly a small tear in his pocket and it seems where he keeps his gold coins with him. Although knowing I haven't seen who was responsible I can't assume you guilty quite yet.
Zero coldly glacned at the gray haired woman, keeping his hand steady onto the hilt of his blade as he briefly glanced the sheath of a knife on her hip. Worst case scenario he would need to subdue and neutralize this woman if she resorted to attacking someone in this situation.

Joel looked at the girl, fighting down an old desire to just snatch her up and rattle her a few times. He raised an eyebrow to her, and then down at the money. He fingered the hole in his pants absentmindedly as he looked around at the small crowd that had gathered, sending them scurrying off under the strength of his gaze. Joel considered removing his axe to send a message out, but that might be a sign of unwanted violence. The faint sound of someone resting their hand on the hilt of their sword in it's sheath could be heard behind him; a quick glance back revealed the bright blue-haired man who had mistaken Joel for a man named Vince from earlier. And then his attention went back to the thief.
"Swordsman, keep your hand off your sword. Thief, show me your knife. I am a little disappointed that someone would go around stealing an honest man's money, but I used to work for bandits, so I understand that it happens... Keep your ill-gotten gains. You will, however, have to pay for the repairs to my pants." Joel rumbled, and cracked his knuckles, displaying his callused hands.

She sighed watching the people disperse out of the corner of her eyes and that was much to her relief. Less attention to her and especially the ears the better. Though....she had to say this man's reaction was rather surprising and rather humorous in some strange sense. He was like...a child's stuffed toy...
Chucking to herself the girl picked out the exact coins belonging to the man and placed them in his hand. "For a reaction like that I'll just give it all back, you are the odd one aren't you, using your brain more than the brawn aye?" Her eyes traveled back down to the pocket of the breeches tapping her cheek in thought for a moment before continuing "I suppose I will do that too, your reaction was rather surprising, I think you earned it fairly yah?"
Blatantly ignoring the request for her knife she raised her arms above her head to stretch staring at the swordsman with little interest "you though are...rather dull in the head yes? Resorting to fighting b'fore talkin." Spinning on her heel Mel stared up at the bear man "less you give your name you are fluffy aye?"

Zero grumbled a little under his breath upon hearing the female theif's words, and sighed out of boredom knowing that resorting to violence won't solve anything much, and that this woman wasn't much of a threat anyways.
"I apologize to the both of you two,but if were going to be setting things straight I guess I'll introduce myself as well. My name is Zero of the Kutolah Tribe, I am merely just a Sacaen Myrmidon and traveler, who wandered into this small town cause I am traveling the world to perfect my swordsmanship and one day aspire to become a SwordMaster. I pretty much just came back from winning a fighting match at the local arena, and I guess I happened to stroll into this situation."
Zero brushed aside a few strands of his hair as he glanced at the large man and nodded in apology and glanced towards the female theif with a friendly smirk appearing on his face. My deepest apologies for the both of you but I was looking out for this man,and I also can understand that making money is hard in these times.

As Vashnar made his way down the street he happen to notice a group of people: a giant with a axe about the same classification, a pointy eared girl, and that myrmidon from the arena. "Hey You!" He shouted as he made way over to the group "you're that myrmidon from earlier. nice match, really nice to watch though you didn't have to kill your opponent like I did" he told the myrmidon as he then decided to greet the other two strangers. "I'm Vashnar and I come from Bern, and been wandering to train and hone my skills to become a great warrior. I like to have the company of others after traveling for a while alone, and what my luck to run into another thief again, not trying to make that seem to be bad or anything".
When he turns from the girl to the giant, he looks at the axe and says "you seem like you know how to use that. maybe you should enter the arena, a man like you could become a crowd favorite after a series of wins. That is, if you don't end up fight this man right here" as Vashnar motions to the myrmidon "he's deadly with a blade. the only hit his opponent got on him was a punch". Then facing all of them, he decided to make a bow as well, to not make himself appear to be weird.

Joel raised an eyebrow at the new arrival. He glanced at his armor and lance, but then turne his attention to the man's erratic behavior and assumption that he was a fighter. "Nah, Vashnar. I am what some people call a pacifist; the thought of combat revolts me. An arena... No." Joel shrugged, and then looked at the three people. Altogether, the four made an interesting bunch... "And what makes you think that you're travelling with any of us? We just met ourselves, and I only to retrieve stolen mone from this thief. I'm a wanderer by profession... And I have always wandered alone. But perhaps company would be good for me. You can all call me Joel." The last bit was directed towards the little girl. "Perhaps you shall grace us with your name as well, lass?"

"Mmm...." she sighed softly a hand running back through her hair as she thought for a moment eyes distant. "Ah I suppose I can forgive you Zero yes? Seems like a clean mistake enough." She smiled it forming into more of a smirk after a moment "seems you have a whole life set out already for yourself...how wonderful..." she said in an almost wistful voice before turning her cynical gaze to the new coming knight.
"It seems another sheep approaches..." she mused her head tilting to the side "fighting is the only thing on your brain...you seem rather touched in the head...and what says that I am a thief? Rather I am an artist." Mel slipped the knife out of her pocket and began to twirl it around her fingers watching the light fall onto blade absentmindedly.
"Perhaps I can grace you with my name...and then perhaps I will like to stay unknown, lets see...you can call me..." she tossed the blade up into the air and caught it with her other hand continuing to twirl it in the same manor "Mel..I suppose that's a good enough name for now..."
"Alright...so Joel is it? I suppose we should go get those pants repaired...and do something about that shirt it looks awfully uncomfortable to be wearing, for a pacifist you seem rather fixated on battling that..." Turning on her heel and sheathing her knife she began to walk towards the market not waiting for the giant to follow. "Oh! And" she began to say snapping out of her brooding trance and looking back for a moment holding up a freshly cut purse before continuing on her way chuckling softly.

Zero let out a sigh of relief as he glanced around at the group of people with him, first turning to the large man he had run into before and apologized to him for his actions before.
"I'm sorry for the little misunderstanding earlier Joel,a couple days ago I was traveling with an Ostian knight known as Vince, he was a giant in size just you are and I have never seen him without his armor on so I'm sure you can understand why I was acting strangely a few moments ago back out in the square.
"Zero glanced in the direction of the young woman, possibly a year or two younger than himself and smiled, taking out the small red gemstone he had won at his previous arena fight and smirked as he tossed it in her direction,it gleamed brightly in the sunlight as he smiled cheerfully."
"As for you miss, if it is money your looking for then you can have this gemstone I had won earlier at the fighting arena, that is if you wouldn't mind traveling with me. You could certainly put those skills of yours to good use as a spy for a noble house or for a mercenary group as well. Consider me generous but I find your talents quite exceptional but for a quick test of your skill let's see you appraise the gem I won at the arena."

Her eyes instantly turned to the gem its bright red color attracting her eyes as she watched it and expertly stretched out a hand to catch it sticking it into her pouch without the slightest second thought. "Its selling price on average in known markets is around 2500 gold" she replied stretching her arms up high above her head as Mel continued to walk "I have no interest in such mundane occupations."

Joel raised his eyebrow at the this turn of events. Nothing quite this weird had happened to him since... Since... When he had been captured by bandits and found out that their leader had eight toes one one foot and two on the other. Actually, that still took the cake, but still... This was odd. The man said nothing, however, and just watched as Zero, in his mind, made a fool of himself and this Mel girl shot him down. That was probably for the best... Although something the thief had said earlier bothered him.
"Battling what? My shirt? Or little thieves who think they can get away with anything?" Joel rumbled, and then smiled. "Aye, I'm not very fond of wearing my shirt, but I always wear it while in town. I have to keep up appearances, see. Now then, allow us to go and fix my shorts. Ya comin', Zero, Vash?"
