Clair listened carefully as she waited outside the cave for a few minutes. She knew she'd done enough to get them all riled up inside, but now she was growing impatient with the delay. The dwellers in this cave needed justice given to them, and she could almost feel herself relishing the anticipation leading up to the coming battle.... That wasn't right. Judgement came to all at some point or other, but she couldn't remember ever enjoying the thought of delivering it. Not since coming into her own, at least. Lusting after destruction was a dangerous and dark path to follow.
She looked to the weapon in her hand and felt its power pulsing idly as she gripped it. Magic weapons bestowed great power on their bearers, but nothing came without a cost.... She looked on it for a moment more, suspicion growing in her heart. She would use this lance for her purposes, and she would be wary of it as she did so.
Her eyes snapped up as she saw a man step out of the cave. His first move was to look around at dead companion's bodies strewn about, but a large pegasus with an armored knight on its back is hardly an inconspicuous sight.
"There she is!" A couple more quickly strode out, and headed towards her, fanning out as they went. Clair wasn't concerned. She knew something that they didn't.
Lifting the tip of the Thunderlance high into the sky over her head, Clair started calling up the weapon's power once more. Sparks radiated off of it with wild abandon for a few seconds before she lowered it down and unleashed a thunderous bolt of lightning at the men trying to outflank her. There was a scream or two before the group beat a hasty retreat back inside the entrance of the cave for shelter. She cut off once they were inside, letting them take cover. Another peal of thunder and another bolt of lightning assaulted the cave a moment later. After the second, she nudged Corona back into the sky without another word, and flew up and away for the secondary entrance. As powerful as that weapon was, she didn't think it wise to fire off any more shots. She'd noticed that using its power did wear her out some after a time. It wasn't like she could stand on a cliff and shoot down doom bolts indefinitely....
That ought to keep them occupied for a bit.
They touched down on arriving at the secondary entrance, and Clair saw that her acquaintances had already cleared the area. She hopped off her pegasus' back and checked him over quickly before reequipping herself for the fight indoors. Now to take care of Corona.... She didn't know exactly how intelligent pegasi were, but she knew she had Corona well trained to certain key words. Enough to get a message through to him about what he needed to do while she was busy elsewhere.
"Corona, once I'm inside, head skyward and keep watch." She heard him nicker back at her as she checked her sword in her scabbard, and slung the Delphi Shield over her back. She started to put the Thunderlance back for another weapon, but stopped mid reach.... She just couldnt put it back. Something was telling her that she absolutely had to bring it with her. It was a powerful weapon, but she couldn't help but think that it would be a little unwieldy inside the cave. She weighed her thoughts back and forth, but the need for haste was going to cut the mental debate short. She took it with her, and headed into the secondary entrance carefully. She didn't know how far the others had made it, but she'd just follow carefully until she caught up to them.

Shugo took a deep breath. Eren had told him his plan and Shugo agreed. However he was more focus on simply eliminating the bandits. Shugo did not want to wait on Clair or even take chances with the messenger at that. The boy build up his strength and like a alligator attacking from a lake Shugo exploded off from his hiding location and rushed toward the runner. The sudden sounds of clanking and rush of foot steps caused the man to pause and turn for a moment. He looked back to see a young boy clad in armor running at him at full speed. The sight was so bizarre that he paused for a moment to see if it was true. It was a mistake, and one that would cost him his life.
Shugo quickly rushed in and stabbed the man through his lower abdomen. The weight of Shugo's armor and the speed he was running toppled the man over as Shugo removed his spear. The bandit screamed in agony, but Shugo did not put him out of his misery. The bandit was as good as dead since Shugo's lance had pierced through his digestive track and sent his bowls into his blood. Even if he was healed by a healer he would die from the infection latter. Instead Shugo left him to a painful death as he thought the man deserved and rushed down the hallway toward the inner compound. In Shugo's mind they stood a better chance if they caught the bandits by surprise rather than simply let them mass and rush toward the front gate.

Shugo shot off, attacking the messenger in a brave but utterly idiotic moment of hormone-fueled frenzy. The Dragon Knight, for his part, simply stayed hidden. He would emerge if need be to rescue the young Wyvern Knight, but for now, better to wait and watch.
There! Movement!
Eren's axe was in his hand before he could process the source of the movement, but when he did, he sighed in relief quietly. It was Clair. Standing up and moving over to the Falcoknight, Eren spoke quickly.
"Good to see that you're alive. Here's the scoop. Shugo just took down a messenger going to inform their Boss of our infiltration. All I know is that he's down that tunnel," Eren said, pointing to the tunnel leading down farther into the cave.
"As of now, they don't know we're inside. However, if we don't clear out of here soon, that will probably change. I think we should get moving down fast. If we can keep the element of surprise, we should hopefully be able to get to the leader before he can flee or secret himself away."
The sound of clanking arms from the upper tunnel caused Eren to swivel quickly, his hand resting on his spear.
"We need to move."
The Dragon Knight moved off without another word, sidling quietly over to the tunnel and looking down. There were torches illuminating the sides, but no guards in sight, despite the racket that they'd caused at the entrances. Surely this was too good to be true. Nevertheless, he moved into the tunnel, motioning towards Shugo and Clair. Come. They had to move quickly. No time to waste.

Clair took a quiet breath as she got to Eren, and nodded her head as he shared the events of the last few minutes. Shugo's catch of the messenger didn't come as too much of a surprise to her. She still wasn't over how young he was, in all honesty, but once she passed that up, he was one of the most violent and angry people she'd ever worked with. Even so, she was glad he'd stopped the message from getting through to the main bulk of the bandits here. The ones upstairs would already know, but those guys would be out of their hair for a little while. Now it was a matter of how much discord could they sow inside the fortress before the real storm was released onto them.
Clair nodded as Eren spoke about getting the move on. She'd caused a pretty good spike of excitement up top. They'd spend a few minutes investigating the battle up there, maybe look around for what had caused it, and then turn back to return to their cave with the news. The quicker they moved, the better off the three raiders would be.
"I agree. Take the lead, Eren. I'll follow." She followed a few paces behind as Eren took off down the hall. Careful Clair. Don't want to make too much noise. The last thing they needed would be for one of them to bang a wall with one of their weapons and give away their stealthed position. The Ilian hadn't been a part of many missions that required on quiet in her time, but she'd expected to need to learn to move carefully at some point.

Shugo was surprised. He was sure they were going to reprimand him about rushing out and killing the messenger, but it seemed that they agreed with his actions, or they simply did not think they had the time to do it right now. For all he knew after this thing was over he could get a long lecture about team work and patience. Still he was not happy that Clair was there. Sure he knew she was coming, but he had hoped he could find his target before she arrived. Now he was going to have to deal with her.
"Understood", spoke Shugo as he followed behind Eren. The young rider kept his spear leveled. He wanted to be able to use it at any given moment if the enemy ever presented themselves. Still however Shugo had to be weary. He could tell by the way the others moved they were trying keep the noise they maid to a minimum. Shugo however did not really have much experiences in steal missions. Mainly with Luna around stealth was impossible. The boy matched his pace with Eren's and made sure he picked his feet up for ever step. Nothing made more noise than a steel boot scuffling across the ground.
As the group moved forward Shugo started to hear noises. It seemed that they were drawing closer to the inner hall. Shugo wondered if that girl's brother was here. Now that Shugo was thinking about him he could not understand why Clair cared so much. Even if they spared the two of them here they were going to die anyway. The punishment for Banditry was death, and that was clear. They both, no matter how crippled they were, were both murders. They killed for their own greed and care nothing for the law. They might as well execute them right here and save the court the time.

"Stay on guard... We're going into the mouth of the beast now. Prepare yourself!"
Taking a deep breath and steeling himself, Eren whirled around a corner, raising his axe as he anticipated a violent clash. But there was nobody there... The sounds of talking, laughing, and boisterous brags came floating toward him. So far, they had managed to go undetected. But that would be nearly impossible now.
The sounds they had heard were emanating from a great hall, where men were laughing and feasting, weapons laying haphazardly around. Suddenly, Eren stopped dead, bringing his hand up abruptly in the halt signal. The path ended; there was a sizeable drop down to the floor of the hall, or a ladder that had been lashed onto a nearby natural rock formation. Going down would be fine; they could easily make the jump. But then they were deep in the enemy's territory, with no fast escape route. And, to complicate matters, they would be heard. Climbing down the ladder was quieter, but gave the risk of being detected from sight.
As far as he could tell, there wasn't much of an option. They had to charge in and get to the boss to stop this bandit group. The only problem was that three, including one young fighter, against... Thirty, at the very least, was not Eren's idea of good odds. There was no way he could think of to distract or thin the numbers. It looked like a grim and vicious battle was ahead.
Slowly and quietly moving back from the edge, into the shadows, Eren turned to his companions.
"This doesn't look too pleasant for us. Any ideas on how we can get through this rabble to their leader, ideally all alive and without loss of any limbs?"

Clair readied herself as Eren spoke to them and prepped himself to charge into the fray. He whirled, and she waited only a fraction of a second, giving him space to clear out of the way as she was about to follow, then she started to charge- only to very nearly run her face right into his palm as he suddenly held up a hand to stop them. She just managed to stop herself short, though if she hadn't spent years in the saddle practicing balance and control of her body she might very well have fallen right over as she suddenly had to halt her forward motion so unexpectedly. He looked, before slinking back into the shadows with the rest of them, and speaking quietly. He looked a little concerned, so he must have seen something there that caused him to stop short.
"Guessing there's alot of them." There was a hum of power through her Thunderlance as she said the words, and a few small crackles of electricity escaped its tip before settling back down again. For these bandits, it would be judgement day today. As long as her lightning had anything to say about it, it would be over soon.
"I could give them all a charge of this. It's enough to get anyone questioning whether they really want a piece of the fight their in, and can knock even a full grown man on his can pretty easily."
Forgotten was the promise made outside. The blond haired falcoknight felt the wrath of her weapon, and its purpose.

"I have a suggestion", spoke Shugo as he looked at his two comrades. He still was not crazy about clair at the moment, but she was still his comrade in arms. They were on the same side fighting against the bandits and as such she was a valuable ally. "I could create a distraction. I am well aware that most people don't consider me much a threat because of my age and my small appearance. Using that to our advantage I could come into the hall without my armor crying and creating a distraction. I could then run off deeper into the base. Naturally some of the people will assume that I was brought back by one of their men rather than fighting my way through. they will probably send a few guys to either recapture me or simply shut me up. The men who follow will turn the corner and you two can ambush them. All I have to do is continue to cry and eventually they will send more men. This process probably can be repeated three times at the most, but once that happens I am sure the leader will get fed up with it."
Shugo was not one for stratagems and tactics, but he did know how people thought of him. During his travels he had received great disrespect because of his size and age. He knows how people consider his crying to be annoying and how he could use this to their advantage. During the many fights and people he meet Shugo was slowly starting to understand war, and more and more it was dawning on him that War in itself is deception. The one who can deceive their enemy was the one who had the advantage.

"No, Shugo. I'm not sending you defenseless into a horde of bandits. No, here's what we'll do. Clair has a bit of a shock in for them, but I highly doubt that that will be enough on its own. So... What if we draw them to us? Shugo, you can pull your crying act, but you do it from up here. Yell that there's a bad man or something who killed the guards. They'll undoubtedly send some guys, and then we'll dispatch of them. Then we can throw the corpses down, you can scream as if someone's attacking you, and as they funnel towards us, we can bottleneck them and cut them down.
I'm aware that this plan might include more violence than we initially planned on. However, in light of the current situation, I feel that there is no other way. If we're all in agreement, then we need to get to work. I highly doubt that nobody upstairs will notice the three winged hell-raisers or the dead guards."
Taking a spear in each hand, Eren stood ready. He had a job to do. Gone was his distaste for the Ilian or his doubts in their group's cohesiveness. Now all that mattered was the job at hand. He had bandits to defeat and a homeland to defend. He was Bern-born, and he would fight to the death for the land he loved. It didn't matter who was sitting in the high seat. All that mattered to him was the here and now. Now... It was time to fight.

"Very well", spoke Shugo. The Trio had decided to fall back on a improvised version of Shugo's plan. The young boy was suppose to cry and cause a distraction. The bandits were suppose to follow and get cut down as soon as they turned the corner. It sounded good on paper, but there were a lot of hole in the plan. Still it was worth a shot. Shugo however had to cry which was much harder than it sounded. Shugo was no actor. If he was going to make a noise that sounded like the crying of a young child he would have to truly cry. The young boy did not think of it at the time, but this would be a good moment for Shugo. He could finally let go for a moment, let out all the pain and emotions that he buried under his ideals of being a Knight.
For a moment Shugo sat there quite. He let his mind drift to the past and all the things that have happened to him on his adventures. He remembered his home village and how he was suddenly kidnapped and token away from home. His eyes began to tear up as he remembered the torture he felt at the hands of the slavers who took to Lyica. He remembered the pain of losing Valin and the loss of his mother and fighter. The young wyvern rider's face was now puffed up and snot began to run down his nose. A pitiful expression crossed his face as he struggled against crying. The pain was coming back too quickly for Shugo to control. The emotions boiled and twisted like a tornado as it all broke loss in a single wail of pain. Shugo's voice bounced around the cave walls radiating through the entire hideout. Every pitch held a portion of his pain and simply hearing it alone gave a true glimpse in the pain the young warrior faced through his life.
"What the #$%%", shouted a bandit as he and a few of his buddies rushed out the room. They were more than eager to shut the young Shugo up and by shut up they meant permanently. The sound not only hurt there ears, but also touched there souls. The evil they did pierced there own hearts as they heard the pure sound of agony and tears. Unable to take the assult of emotion the bandits acted the only way they knew how, with violence.
The moment one of the bandits turned the corner Shugo struck forward with his spear. His eyes however were red and snot still covered his face. However Shugo was still able to fight and with quick work the original group of bandits were taken care of.

”Okay. Now… Clair. Stay here; we need someone to guard the rear. Shugo, let’s go!” Eren looked at the ladder, then at the young Wyvern Rider who fought with him. This would be a difficult fight, one that would test their mettle… But it had to be done. What if the two of them simply cut a path through to the tunnel on the far side? ”Shugo, here’s the plan. We’re going to drop down. There are a hell of a lot of bandits down there. We’re going to run straight through them. They’ve built a blast door into a passageway on the far side, perhaps to hole up in in case of an assault by an army. I guess three mounted warriors aren’t an army… Their mistake. So we run straight to the other doorway and I’ll close it behind us. From there, we just have to get to their leader and slay him. Hopefully there’s a back exit, but if not, we might be able to use their chief’s severed head to convince those brigands to disband. Either way, objective number one is to kill the leader. Let’s go!” Eren leaped down to the floor, his armor making a brisk and sharp clang as he landed. As the heads began to swivel his way, Eren let out a fearsome war yell and charged straight forward, his spears held near his body, ready to extend out like a scorpion’s tail if necessary. ”Follow me, Shugo! For Bern!”

The plan was simple, but Shugo did not like it. He wanted to put all the bandits to the sword. However they did not have the numbers nor the time to take care of it. There were far too many of them. Maybe Shugo could come back here a few weeks later or pick them off while they are on raids. Either way the young boy wanted these men dead, but today it would be there leader's time to die. Following Eren's plan Shugo prepared himself to move forward. Around now he was starting to feel the loss of not having Luna with him. His beast of a companion gave him comfort when he was on these kind of missions. Without her it was all up to his own courage. When Shugo hit the ground his armor gave off a usual clank. The young warrior was not taking care of it proper. Some of the joins were a bit rusted, Shugo was going to have to fix that later. It was nothing serious, Shugo could still move, but if he left it unattended it could backlash him later down the road.
Quickly and swiftly Shugo charged forward. While Eren relied on fury and a battle cry to push through the hall Shugo used clarity and courage. As the young boy ran by he kept his eyes open. There was one bandit that he was sure he wanted to kill. He had made a promise to the young archer and he planned on keeping it. As the duo passed the unexpected lot of bandits a few of them moved to block there path. One man even jumped in Shugo's way, but the boy wonder had a counter already planed. Instead of taking the man on or trying to stab him with his spear Shugo instead slid underneath his legs and moved past the man. The move was as smooth and fluid. As Shugo got off the ground he turned around and stabbed forward catching the large man as he attempted to pull off a backhanded strike. The spear stabbed into the man's gut, it was a good blow, but not good enough to kill the man outright. However it did cause him to take a step back in which Shugo used to run forward to the door inside of the cave.
Shugo reached the door first. Rather than wait fore Eren to make it Shugo already began the process of closing it. It took all the strength that he had to move the thing, but by the time Eren arrived it was almost closed. As soon as he pushed through Shugo finished pulling it shut, and without a moment to spear. The young lad slid his irons spear in between the handle bars and slid the locking mechanism in place. The sound of cursing and screams could be heard on the other side as the brigands attempted to break down the door.
"Stupid", spoke Shugo. He lamented that he did not get to find his target, but getting out of there was far more important.

The hall erupted into chaos as the two warriors blazed a trail through. The bandits arose, tripping over each other, and began to grasp for weapons, the drunken stupor that captivated their minds making their actions clumsy and slow. ”Go, go, go!” As Shugo shot by, Eren saw a bandit raise his axe and stand in Shugo’s path, but the smaller Rider slid underneath and incapacitated him in a smooth, well-timed flurry of action. This guy was getting good. As Eren charged, other bandits sprang into the path, but the Dragon Knight turned, vaulting over a table and slipping through the gap still left between the door and the cave wall. Grabbing onto the handles, he helped Shugo close it, lock it, and bar it, and then tossed the boy his Iron lance. There were a few torches on the walls, but it was much darker now, and Eren felt his neck prickling. This was a dangerous situation, but nobody could come from behind. That made it much easier to manage. ”Right, Shugo. Let’s go. Stay near the wall, and take point… In this dull light, they’ll try to jump us. Since you’re smaller, they’ll be more likely to miss, and you have an easier time dodging. I’ll follow you. Hand signs as always. Let’s get that bandit leader and end this mess once and for all!” Eren held his arms at the ready, a Spear in each. He couldn’t rely on any advance warning, so he would need to be on his guard and ready to strike at a moment’s notice.

"Understood", spoke Shugo as he began to move down the hall way. It was dark, damp, and murder was in the air. The young rider had no idea what was waiting for them in the darkness. Part of him wanted to try and carry a torch, but wisdom from battles before told him otherwise. In the dark, the one carrying the light is at a disadvantage. If you stare into a flame then you blind yourself to the things around you. It could take up to thirty minutes before your eyes readjust to the light. Having a enemy able to see you and you not being able to see them was a quick way to a painful death.
Rather than engage in his foolish instincts to find a light source Shugo instead began to run the tip of his spear against the ground. The young rider pulled it up periodically in order to make a tapping sound. The sound served as a marker. It masked the sound of there footsteps and gave the bandits in the hall a false sense of where Shugo was.
As Shugo let off the next ping a bandit jumped from the darkness and swung his axe. Shugo ducked his head, but the blow was far above his head. The trick was successful. However up close Shugo was still more vulnerable than the bandit was. The young boy pulled back his lance, but the brigand caught him with a swift punch to the jaw. The blow knocked Shugo back and caused the young man to press against the wall. The bandit then swung his axe in a overhand manner hopping to end the young lad. shugo however was quick on his feet and as the axe came down he moved his body over to the right.
The iron axe bit into the wall causing the outlining bricks to rack. Shugo, still needing to gain some space to effectively use his lance, pulled his arm back and grabbed onto a torch. With a fearsome roar Shugo slammed the flame into the man's eyes causing the brigand to take a step back in agony. Without missing a beat Shugo pulled back on his iron lance and stabbed the weapon through the man's mouth. Just like the wolf in the bitter winter cold, two years ago.

"Shu..."
As the young Rider dispatched of the bandit, coolly and composedly, Eren shook his head. Part of it was amazement at Shugo's skill, and part of it was amazement at his demeanor.
"Right... Let's push on."
Without a thought for his own well-being, Eren pushed forward, his two hands each holding their Spears. He wanted to find the head bandit and get this over with... But he had no idea what lay ahead.
As it turned out, he didn't have long to wait. As they continued, mercifully without interruption, the ground began to grow reddish, as if there was a furnace blasting away, streaking the ground with swaths of molten stone. The glow grew and grew, until there could be no doubt - they were approaching a well-lit chamber. Eren crept and crept, and then, turning a corner, peered down a flight of rough-hewn steps on a strange sight.
There was a man, large and imposing, wearing nothing but a long, flowing skirt-like garment. His muscles were well-sculpted, and he wore a crown of glimmering iron.
"Welcome, foe."
The words came from a much smaller man, who was seated at the rear of the large stone room. The torches lining the chamber seemed to bend and bow at his command, and Ryu did not fail to see that he carried a large brown book with him. What could that book be?
As Eren grimaced at being discovered, the small man stood up, bowing graciously.
"I am Lukas. I am the master of this bandit company. This is my best warrior, my prime defender... Nés, please... Show this man your skill. Bring me his head."
The shirtless man reached to his side and lifted his huge axe. Eren marveled at the Berserker's brute strength, raising his own Tomahawk in answer.
"I will challenge you, Nés."
