"I like to think of it being more like the axe was the stopper in a bottle of champagne, and when it was removed it SPLOOSHED all over." His previous grumpiness had evaporated so quickly it might as well have never been there. Instead he was smiling happily, happy to discuss magic with other like minded individuals. The other two mages were of the onion variety, but the basic fundamentals of magic were the same no matter where you went. Acolytes to shamans to mages, they all shared the same basic fundamentals, which made it easier to relate to one another then, say, a generic more muscle then mind mercenary.
"If you can manipulate anima spirits, you can use them to fight back natural effects of nature. At least that's my assumption, I can't say I've ever tried it personally. However to hold back what is essentially a volcano with a simple enchanted weapon... That's quite a feat. It may have to do with where the item was placed, a bottleneck of sorts, that disrupted the natural effects in the area. Or perhaps it drew upon some other force, that had been separated from it once the item was removed. Or maybe it was just a perfect coincidence and it's a wonder Ostia lasted as it did. The fact Ostia had been destroyed so many times, and the cause of the creatures appearing to emanate from here, I anticipate that Ostia itself is on the grounds of something... unnatural and magical in nature." He touched his chin as he explained his hypothesis to the other scholars. "At the very least this place is friggen cool, and I'd love to poke around." He added as a happy finish.
It seemed tallguy found something, neato. He held his hand over his eyes and tried to make it out in the distance, he saw a figure but... This isn't getting anywhere. He dug into his pack again, pulling out a small spyglass. It helped him when he needed to make snipey shots with his magic, so it was useful to carry around. It seemed the person was blue, and significantly not undead or a zombie. They also weren't an eyeball, a centaur, a doggy, a dragon (well they might be a dragon), or any other manner of monster or beastie. So Elias looked and waved his arm at the them in the distance to say hi. "It looks like some blue-greenish person, I don't think they're a monster. If they're a bandit they must absolutely embarrassed at leaving the house without wearing the typical fifty minions." He told everyone, as tallguy wandered forward.
Well now, Elias wasn't gonna let someone else have all the fun. "Stay here and hold my spot demon." he told the horse who did not make any signs or response. "Good boy." He added as he scooted forward with a grin, catching up with Tallguy.

Oya took offense to that. Some of his family were bandits. Sure they were not the greatest dressed people, but they were not filthy. Well at least he thought they weren't. Still he did not show it on his face nor did he give any hints whatsoever about it. Announcing that you have family that loot and plunder people is not a good thing for group activity, even more so after he insulted the man's friend. So Oya was already not on a good note with their chief guide. Still there was a problem ahead of them.
Somebody was looking at them. Oya had no idea what this figure was, but he knew it was not a monster. Everyone's reaction told him that much. Still it was a matter of what to do about it. Edrick had stepped forward and took the center stage. He seemed to be taking a peaceful route to this, but Oya was not sure if that was the right choice of actions. He knew far to well of ambushes and bandits. There was a slight chance that this person was in fact not a bandit, but Oya truly could not care less. If they were a threat he wanted to have them removed, but he was sure the others would not agree with him. So instead of reconciling violence Oya simply sat back and watched how this all would play out.
"Be wary this may be a trap", spoke Oya. The pirate placed his axes back onto his side, but still kept his hand on them in case he needed to bring them out again. He needed to be ready at all times. Battle would be tricky for him as Oya would need to keep his girly act on at the same time as fighting his opponent. If he let to much of his masculine side out he might break his cover.

"Well they see me." She spoke to herself. As the group she was observing seemed to be moving towards her. One gentleman made a waving motion. Or at least she thought it was a gentleman, they were still a bit too far for her to notice any real gender distinctions. She instinctively waved back, in a friendly manner. She mentally smacked herself. Yes. Lets be polite to the potential bandits. She kept staring at them through her makeshift binoculars.
She sighed softly. They aren't acting like bandits. Maybe they are lost? No, it doesn't seem like it. They seemed to have been going in a fixed direction. Perhaps scholars? She smiled softly at the thought of meeting fellow seekers of knowledge.
"Better go introduce myself." She put her things away in her bag, and carefully made her way towards them. She approached slowly, she didn't want to trip and fall. Her cloak made her look like a walking ball of dark green. The poor cloak had gotten covered in soot and ash from her time here. It kind of made her blend in a little. Her bandit like bandana also had a faint tint of dust and ash over it. The cloth had done it's job filtering out the soot from the air. Better the soot and ash get on her clothes rather then inside her lungs.
As she got closer to the group she could finally make out some details of the people. A pirate of sorts, a mounted mage, a red haired man with spectacles, and a shaman. Plenty of magic users. They have to be scholars or a guild of some kind. I assume, the pirate is probably hired muscle.
She managed to reach the group and spoke face to face with them. She must have looked like a walking hooded cloak with eyes. The garb did wonders in hiding her frame and stature.
"Hello." She greeted in a bit of a cheery tune. The bandana muffled her cute feminine voice a bit, but she was still audible.
"Wasn't expecting to find any other people out here."

As he walked forward to the figure waiving, he noticed that Elias had also followed him leaving his horse like a watch dog, and The girl told him to be careful of a trap, just like he had literally just told the group, Poor people that had bad hearing. He then turned back to Elias with a chuckle. "Your horse does that? I've seen a watch dog, but never a watch horse." That was a funny thought, a watch horse. But if dogs can so it then why shouldn't a horse be able to do it? Maybe it could.
They slowly got closer to the girl, it felt like they were moving faster than her, but they got there. When they finally met she was the first to speak. Her voice was muffled but he could still hear her introduce herself and her statement of surprise at their location. His mind kept trailing back to him much green she had on though. Her hair was green, her cloak was green and even her eyes were green. Green was a nice color, it was a common color in nature that helped plants to grow. Hopefully no one in the group disliked green that much, that might get awkward then. Haha, it would be quite hard to hate just a color that bad.
After she said her greetings and her statement Edrick replied to her,"Well we could say the same, except it is much more dangerous for you since you are alone. What would you be doing out here?" After a little bit he decided to introduce himself. "Oh, and I am Edrick, it's a pleasure to meet you." He said as he gave her a bow. Those noble customs, he should really keep them up. Getting out of practice wasn't ever really good. And hopefully they could do this quick so they could get back on their path of finding out what was causing these monsters.

"Oh he watches. He watches. And waits. Biding his time." Demon was a crafty beast. Elias was fairly sure he wasn't evil. Well mostly sure. Kind of. Actually it's like 50/50. Elias cast a wary glance at hellspawn, his faithful steed. Elias wasn't a horse person, actually he was fairly sure anyone who a horse person were actually cruel awful human beings, but that's not the point. The point was that he didn't know what kind of horse Demon was, he was fast and smart. Smarter than a horse should probably be, stubborn and kind of aloof, but he felt a small tinge of magic in there. Somewhere. It was probably one of those fancy Etrurian breeds, what with their crazy magic stuff they do. As much as he teased about the horse, it was prooooobably the closest friend he had. Oh gosh. What did that say about Elias?
Elias waved with a grin. "Hey!" The mage knight was cheerful to a fault, the girl he was talking to was a bit more green than his tastes preferred but he was too excited about this whole thing to get all caught up in little details like that. Ahahaha, no really though, if they wanted to garb themselves in such a foul color it was their own decision. A wrong horrible one, but he wasn't gonna rob people of the ability to make horrible fashion mistakes. Just made him look better in comparison after all. "I'm Elias and these are the magettes. Or Shamettes. Hrm..." Why did he draw so many shamans? "Featuring girl over there on the axe." He hiked a thumb over his shoulder in the general direction of girl. She reminded Elias of a turtle.
"We're here studying monsters in the area." Elias revealed without a second thought. There was a long detailed reason for this, but it appeared to just be Elias being Elias to the casual observer. He could smell magic on her, smelled peachy. Of course she might just have peaches. Either way it was peachy-keen. Dohohoho. "Speaking of monsters, there's a ton of them around here. Well not here specifically. Actually in terms of monsters this is kind of a eye of the storm type thing in which case there's actually not a whole lot. Yet anyways. I'm sure once they smell succulent human flesh, or whatever monsters do, they'll come running. So it might noooot be safe here." Elias gestured with his hands as he spoke. "So I would suggest you run away from here as fast as you can. Or stick with us. Y'know, assuming you aren't wanting to kill us or anything silly like that." Elias laughed.
Then he had a thought. "Oh! Have you seen anything that looked like a cavern or anything around here? Perhaps covered over by stone and junk." Elias looked around, before shrugging at the turtle. "Or something that looks like a giant... y'know CRACK in the ground. That works too." They were searching for the ruins Wyatt fell into, assuming they found it. There was a very real chance this whole situation just went a whole lot of nowhere. Which happens. Like all the time. Luckily Elias was very persistent, and stubborn, and hopeful, and a myriad of other words that meant he didn't give up easily.

Everyone else seem to be taking this new person lightly. Oya for one did not trust her. She had the look of a thief and thieves in places like this tend to be deadly. If they did not slit your throat they would steal your supplies and without supplies you were good as dead. Still this was not the Western Isles, nor was it the high seas. Maybe people here in Ostia were not like pirates. Maybe they were simpler folk. Either way Oya had a act to keep up. Acting like a girl was very annoying at times like this.
"Hello I am Mimi", spoke Oya in his feminine tone. He gave off a light smile and then began to look at the figure. From what he could tell the figure did not have a blade or axe on them, or at least a blade he could see. Still this meant they were holding a knife or possibly a magical tome. This made things a lot easier if the figure suddenly tried to attack them.
"As my crimson clad friend said", spoke Oya keeping his disguise. "I have a pair of axes", spoke Oya as he drew them. "Believe it or not I know how to handle them. Please do not give me a reason to use them against you. I can understand if you feel a bit offended, but you have to understand we are in a dangerous place. Their are monsters all around both beastly and human."
Oya kept a keen eye on the woman, but he had to do so with a slightly passive glare. If he went full scowl his masculine tone might be reviled"

"Tis a pleasure to meet you all."She gave a light bow.
"My name is Mila. An academy mage researching monsters as well." She introduced herself casually. She pulled down her hood, and bandanna.
"Phew.. It was getting hot underneath all that. It's nice to meet fellow researchers out in the field. And I will probably be taking you up on that offer to tag along Red one." Red one? Elias. Sheesh Mila can we at least try to remember new names. There was a tint of red to her cheeks. She thought for a moment on something Elias said. A cavern? Crack? Hmm... Aha! She tucked an arm into her sleeve for a moment then pulled out a well worn journal.
"Hmm.." She flipped over a few pages until she reached the right one. "Here we go. Something like this I assume?"
She turned the book around and held it up so it faced the group. There was a rather well detailed sketch of a cavern like entrance that led underground. From another angle the hole did look like a rather large crack into the ground.
"I saw something like it a bit ago. Didn't go in since I value self preservation. Noticed seemed well, odd. If I were to guess it might be a spot where lava flowed out of during the eruption. Or it might have been caused by a build up of pressure that blasted out the hole in the ground. I am not sure. I have yet to see a live volcanic eruption to make any conclusive comparisons."She closed the journal and slipped it back into her sleeve.
"But the best way I can describe it looking like some giant swung at the earth with large molten axe, and that was the wound left behind. Cut but charred at the same time. If that's the specific hole your looking for it's past the hill I was at. This place is pretty huge. And with Geo-seismic events like a volcanoes and earthquakes who know's how many other caverns and hole in the grounds have turned up." She shrugged.

The others had started to rattle off their own theories about what had happened to Ostia, Reid had soaked those up like a sponge. Elias had said the cavern may still be there, the mystery of pulling a stone axe from the ground causing an explosion of this caliber had began to fill his head. As his mind began to race, his feet began to move, he silently had walked in a different direction as the group when they went off to investigate something else.
One theory Elias had was the axe was a 'cork' and when it pulled from it's resting place the built up pressure had released. He didn't know much about the land before this had happened, but if it was well known with the locals for hot springs that could be a very possible theory. Since weapons wasn't something Reid had cared about he never thought about researching magical weapons, as other call them. It was pretty obvious that the source of Elder and Light magic weren't present on Elibe but Anima drew it's power from the spirits of the land itself, it could be possible that the 'Anima magic weapons' were the home of powerful spirits. If that was true then maybe, just maybe whatever spirit that lives in the 'Magma Axe' was very content on staying in the cave and when Wyatt pulled it from it's resting spot it called out the the lesser spirits in anger causing explosions. That's all assuming that's how Anima magic works, he knew almost nothing about spirits and the like.
Reid's body was on auto-polite, he shuffled his feet as his arms drooped down. If somebody had saw him, they would very likely confuse him for a zombie. His mind was racing at what could have caused the destruction of the land when he heard something call out to him? That had snapped him out of his mindless walk and mental trance. He looked around to see nobody, there was nothing but he could swear he heard something call him. It wasn't by his name but he could feel it was calling him. He was now scared, there wasn't a possible reason for hearing something call for him since he was alone and there wasn't anywhere to really hide. His heart was racing, thud thud thud, he could hear it beating now. This wasn't good, he started to take a couple of deep breaths to calm himself.
It didn't take too long before he could feel his heartbeat return to normal, good. Now that he was calm he knew he would be able to focus, he brought his hands chest level as he muttered the Flux incarnation he always used as he began to form a ball of black mass. "Reid." There it was again! This time it was louder, and he could... feel? where it was coming from. There was definitely something out here, and it was calling out to him. "More. Feed us more..." now it was telling him to feed them? That made no sense at all, was something calling out to him because he practiced Elder magic? He knew Edrick did as well but he couldn't simply ask him if something was calling to him, simply due to the fact Reid had wondered off and separated himself from the group.

Academy mage? Which academy he wondered, the only ones he knew was the one in Laus, the one in etruria and the destitute one in Bern. Ilia might have one tucked away somewhere though, there were undoubtedly more he just wasn't particularly familiar with them. He learned magic under an apprenticeship, instead of at a school. His father... actually he didn't know where his father learned. He didn't know much about his parents at all really, all things considered. Just their research, which was varied and plentiful but unfocused. They studied legends of Elibe, the heroes, ancient forgotten magics, artifacts, history lost to time. Why they studied that, who they were outside of it? It wasn't important, especially now of all times, but she made him think about it.
Elias snapped his fingers with a happy grin on his face. "Perfect, that's exactly the type of thing I was looking for." She was rather good at drawing, his sketches looked like children's scribbles, so usually he had to take detailed notes instead. Can't be perfect at EVERYTHING, goodness knows he's tried. He studied the drawing for a moment, squinting. "It looks rocky." He said as if it was a big deal. "I'd have to see it myself, but if it's the way your sketch shows... I should be able to open it up without causing it to collapse on itself. Assuming I don't mess up, or my senses of structural integrity are off. Both unlikely, mind you, but I'm not infallible." He dragged his foot on the ground, his shoe pointed as if he was try to draw on the blackened stony earth, there was a small spark of magic coming from him the other mages might recognize as he got a feel for the earth. The spirits of Elibe, he hummed lightly, shifting his stance a bit, then stomped a foot down, before nodding with a confident grin. "Yeah, I should be able to do it. The ground is tough and stony, I should be able to sculpt an entrance."
"Anyways, yeah it was caused by an eruption. I saw it happen first hand." He told her. "Funny you should say molten axe actually." He mentioned with a small chuckle. "Yeah though, spot on. Spires of fire erupted from the earth and flowed out like slow goopy sticky water. Kinda like bright red glowing molasses, blinding to look at and intense heat to just be around. As to why it happened? Eh, we don't know." He finished with a shrug and looked around. "Where exactly did you see this? Can you tell us?" He asked, while looking off into the distance. Something felt... off, but he couldn't put his finger on it. Maybe one of the others will notice. Or maybe not.

Oya felt on edge. He did not like the sudden appearance of the woman nor did he like the casual conversation. They had spent some time getting here and traveling across dangerous land, and now instead of actively searching they were stopping and talking. "Bah humbug", spoke Oya to himself. He was letting the atmosphere get to him. Everything they were doing was necessary, but Ostia just seemed to put him on edge. He did not like the feeling of this place. There was something... wrong, Oya could not put his finger on it, but there was something not right about their surroundings. The pirate however kept his feelings to himself as the sense of danger could be clearly felt all around the table. Him telling them that something felt out of place did not help nor would it change the situation.
"So we have a destination then", spoke Oya maintaining his female tone and posture. The disguise was starting to get annoying, especially with the dangers around them. It was then that Oya had taken notice of it. The reason he felt off and why his sense of danger had sparked up. "Hey where is glass", spoke Oya in a blunt tone. It was Oya's first slip up, but at the time the pirate was more worried about the disappearance of their party member than keeping his own disguise. If he was picked off by a enemy then their situation does not bold well. If someone or something could take one of them without the recognizing it then they all would disappear very quickly. Without another word Oya drew his axes from his side and began to look around for any kind of clue. Unfortunately Oya was a sea man and as a result he spent very little time actually tracking. He could not tell if Raid had walked off or if he was dragged off. Oya could not even really tell where he was standing, most of the earth had been moved around with their walking and talking.
"Hey Reid", shouted Oya making sure to use his female voice. Oya did not like to shout, especially in territory like this, but he needed to know where the other member of their group was.

"Sure I can guide you guys to it. I saw it on my way into this wonderfully charred landscape." She gave a slight tilt to the head when Elias explained that he could open the hole in the ground.
How does one open a crack? Her thought spoke in a manner similar to that of a foriegn monk. Like, the ones who traveled the land spreading their own variant of spiritual and morality. She recalled meeting one, with her brother, during a brief job, near the Nabatan borders. She remembered the man specifically for his manner of speech and funny dialect. But the thought abruptly stopped when she had fully processed everything Elias had said.
The thought of going head first into a cavern, that would have just been recently remodeled by magic did unnerve her. It awoke unpleasant memories of the cave in back in Nabata. A slight chill crept up into her body, as her mind replayed the shaky memory of that night.
In her mind she could almost hear the sound of crumbling rock, human screaming, and then dead silence. For a moment she thought she felt the floor beneath her rumble in response. To those around her she appeared to kind of stare off in the distance for a brief moment, tuning out the sounds of conversation around her. She seemed to snap back to the reality around her, once the other female of the group spoke up about their destination.
"Yes!" She then cleared her throat and regained her composure.
"Yep you do. I'll take you to the mouth of the cavern..crack.. hole, thing." Her speech was a bit fast. She cracked her knuckles and let out a sigh.Strange, normally a good sigh and crack of the knuckles pretty much puts me back in the right. There was something nagging her in the back of her mind, but she couldn't quite place it. She rubbed the back of her neck, something she was accustomed to doing whenever she felt nervous. The bare parts of her arm had tiny little goosebumps. She covered herself up a bit more with her cloak. Probably just more reaction to the thoughts of the cave in. She gave a quick glance at everyone, as she started walking towards the direction of the crack. She turned around and started to walk backwards to say something trivial when she noticed, someone was missing. She stopped her casual backwards walking to ask.
"Hey where's the guy with the spectacles?" She used her hands to make an imitation of glasses on a face. To give a poor impression of the man she barely knew.

Edrick had just zoned out. Something began to feel off, he couldn't quite put his finger on it though. He had only been halfheartedly b listening to the others at that point so he didn't really know what was going on. But sadly he didn't really care, he just wanted to clear out that off feeling, if only he knew what was causing it. Did the others feel it too? If they did they certainly weren't showing it. Was he going crazy? Like he was after the arena? Oh no. Not that again, the darkness was definitely a dangerous force to be had, the way that it could consume a person whole and use their body. That power made him want to study it, but he was actually scared to delve to deep into it currently. Afraid that it might consume him and all that he was. Why was he going on about this stuff to himself again? Oh yeah, that weird feeling.
He was snapped back to reality thanks to a certain someone's yelling. Why would they be yelling out here? Did they want to get caught by monsters? After looking around and listening to the others it became painfully obvious what was wrong. Reid was gone. Where did he go? He couldn't have gotten too far, could he? If he was out of view in this place then there was a good chance that he was out of ear shot as well.
He walked up to the 'girl' "Keep your voice down, we can't afford to attract monsters." He then turned back to everybody "I don't know about you guys but I can't leave Reid out here, it's too dangerous. I believe we could follow his footprints if we find out where they split off from ours, that way we can get it done silently." Okay, now he was getting his focus back. He began to look around until he saw one set of footprints actually going off and began to follow them. Dang, Reid could move pretty fast. Or he zoned out that hard, he hoped it was the former.

Ah that was it, coolguy was missing. It was good these other people were around or he'd have missed it completely and that spectacle wearing red haired man would be as good as abandoned. Nothing personal mind you, it was just when Elias got focused on something sometimes he had a hard time paying attention to other things. He was a bit single minded in that way, but he prefered the term 'awesome'. While the others shouted and looked and Edboy 'scolded' them for shouting or whatever, Elias cross his arms and thought. Now where could he have gone? Likely not far, as they've only been apart for maybe literally two minutes. However the plains were quite that, with little landmarks of obstructions of sight, if they couldn't see him he must have gotten off farther than they thought.
However, true to his nature, he was so focused on the Reid situation he completely missed the whole 'turtle knocked on her back and flailing around' thing, figuratively of course since doing that literally was quite silly. She didn't even have a shell, that wouldn't make any sense. Oh turtle, stop being so weird. Coolguy was missing though, that much was certain, so that meant it was time to mount and expedition to find him! "I dunno, probably wandered off somewhere." Elias said frankly to the girl. "Maybe he got bored, or maybe he's looking for a private place to take care of business." He shrugged. "Either way, we should probably find him and drag him back. Not very safe to be wandering around out here alone, I guess that fissure in the earth will have to wait." He sighed, a grumble to his self, hanging his head to the side and slumping his shoulders. He picked them right back up in a moment, it was more of a distraction then a bother really, either way it was a bit of a bad time. Maybe they'll get lucky and find him having stumbled over a magical glowy make monsters rock or something.
Elias closed his eyes and took in a deep breath. Focus Elias. Focus on... Uh... Focus on... He opened his eyes, looking stumped. "How do you track dark magic users?" He muttered to his self, touching his chin and furrowing his brow. It wasn't like anima, where he could follow spirits, he barely understood Nether outside of 'it's weird' which isn't really understanding and more of his blanket statement for the subject matter. He could smell them, but that wasn't a reliable method of tracking, he wasn't a blood hound, that was more of a proximity thing. By the way Edrick smelled like onions right now, he must be doing dark magicy things. What? Iunno. "Hey Edboy." Elias said, picking his head up. "You know any tricks to finding elder magic in the area?" He asked. "If he's using any, whether he realizes he's doing it or not, we might be able to follow that like a trail. Sometimes magic users find themselves subtly affecting the area around them by simple virtue of being there, like I can tell she over there uses anima magic because of the way the spirits linger about her." He pointed his thumb in turtle's direction. "You know the most about elder magic, well of the people who are here right now, so I was wondering if you had any tricks that might put us on the right path?"

Great just what we need, thought Oya to himself. The pirate was a bit upset about being told to Shut up, putting it into his own words, but the command was logical. Oya refrained from yelling and screaming about and then began to wonder how they were going to find the other person. Once again he bounced around ideas about how to find the wayward shaman, but at the moment he had no idea. If they were on the pirate ship they probably just simply leave him behind and keep moving, but they were on land and they needed each other. If glasses vanish that meant that Oya would have to take his own notes, which was not a hard task but having somebody else do it was a thousand times easier.
"I guess we will have to fall back to your earlier idea", spoke Oya to Edrick in his girly voice. "I don't know about you, but I am not skilled at tracking. I can't really tell where foot prints are going or how old they are. I am not even sure if I can recognize the foot prints if I looked down and saw them. Everything here looks about the same burned out and destroyed."
The act was starting to get on Oya's nerves a bit. Sure it was useful earlier, but now it was starting to become a pain. The situation they were in was delicate and instead of acting as himself and trying to take charge he has to act meek and lady like. If he was in his normal uniform Oya would has simply ordered everyone to turn around and Edrick to watch the ground from the front. That way they could retract their steps and find the fool before they ran into any real trouble. Seriously who just simply walks away from the group in a land filled with dangerous monsters and destruction. This is what Oya gets for teaming up with a glasses wearing nerd.

Well Red is right. Mila thought as the man went on his speech on how spirits can react to certain people. She knew that. And like Edrick she could tell who could do what kind of magic, by the way the spirits seem to "feel". She wondered how spirits looked like. Do they float around the caster? Do they walk along side? or do they just manifest as needed.. hmm... Do they have will's of their own. Ah.. pity I cannot see them with the naked eye. They sound like fascinating subjects of observation. She heard tales of those who could communicate directly with spirits as if they were still tied to the mortal world. As if they were people. Are they people?
She didn't mind the stop. While everyone talked among themselves as to how to find specks she entertained herself with her thoughts. Which was good. She did not want to step into the deep dark earth and very real death trap that would be the cavern... crack.. thing she was guiding these fine people to. Her heart started to race. Oh no.. memories of the cave in coming back again.. ignore them Mila.. we are outside.. the sun is.. well it's hiding behind clouds. But it's there.. yes.. that's it. She looked up at the sky for a moment as a cool breeze touched her face. It seemed to bring her back to reality.
She could see the other shaman wander off following a pair of footprints that seemed to wander out into the distance. Mila was at least grateful she knew how to track things, though in terrain like this even, the deepest of footprints seem to just blend into the cold black earth. It made tracking difficult, but not impossible. Men are easier to track then rabbits. She recalled the words of a nomad during one of her travels.
She thought she identified the problem by pointing out the missing member of the trope, and yet she couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. What is it? Never mind that, the group was getting nowhere simply standing there. Time to be useful.
"I can track prints." She pointed to the ground and slowly began back tracking. She noticed the other shaman doing the same although a little ahead of her. Mila was stepping on the places where she stepped before. So as not to confuse the tracks. It might have looked off to those training behind her.
"He couldn't have traveled too far. Polite guy has got the right.. of it too." Though difficult to make out she could tell how far and how fast specs had to have been going.
"..Steady.. even pacing.. no..wait he was shuffling. There's some light dragging on the tips of his feet. He wasn't running." Mila spoke. Rules out running away to or from something. She managed to catch herself up to the polite shaman. Edrick. But she still kept her vision to the floor just following the tracks. The group would catch up to Reid shortly.
