Having caught the pirate's wave in the direction of the pub earlier, Saru said, "I thought we were waitin' on the pirate ta guide us, but, in lieu of that, I will be your guide." He grinned and bowed towards the group. "And since our buddy Abin here is the new guy, he gets to pay!" the mercenary cheered as he signalled the others to follow him.

"I've had enough to drink. I'll go around town and gather information." Dirk started to walk away from the rest of the group towing Kabold with him.

"Suit yourself" Raen said as he hurried along with the group. "Enough to drink, ha! right Saru?" Raen figured Dirk would be back in the pub before the night was over, but, of course, he couldn't be entirely sure of that.

Since Saru appeared to know the way, Alexia had little problem following him. While she may not be as eager to get drunk as the rest of her merry band of companions, a hot meal, a soft bed, and a warm bath all sounded extremely appealing. Besides, she knew her horse probably wanted rest and a good bed of hay.
"Try and come back when you're done, Dirk!" she called to the quiet man as he peeled off from the group. The last thing she wanted was for one of them to get separated, though Dirk always seemed more comfortable alone than with their group.
At any rate, she was more focused on getting to the tavern then anything else, even her companion's odd behavior.

The place looked almost rundown, but it was probably due to being near the sea. The salty air surely didn't do any good to the walls of buildings.
The inside was almost like a totally different place, though. The inn's reception had a chandelier hanging from the ceiling, nice furniture and...
"What's that smell?" Matis asked the clerk while trying to sniff around.
"Oh, that's smoked salmon. This place's specialty" the man replied happily.
Almost immediately, Saru and Raen were no longer there. They had run off to where the smell came from. Probably the same place the inn's tavern was at.
"Could you get us some rooms? We are 8, if I'm not mistaken"

Katara felt tired, so she silently followed Matis to the inn. She was surprised that inside the shabby walls was a beautifully decorated inn. "They must get a lot of business, I hope we can get enough rooms," she muttered to Matis.
She walked over to one of the cushy chairs in the lobby and sat down. She closed her eyes and let herself drift off for a few moments, thinking of her brother and sister.
Then a frightening thought struck her. Something that had always been a constant in her life, since the day her older sister told her what it was, hadn't happened yet. It always happened around the same week... She shot up out of the chair and stood next to Matis, her face paler than it had ever been before... "I think I need to go lie down..." she whispered.

"You okay?" Matis asked, startled by Katara's sudden movement.
She looked sick. Quite sick.
"Hey, can you get her a room right now?" he asked the clerk, hoping that they'd be lucky to at least find a room for Katara to rest.
"Sure, sir. Follow me, lady"
The man went upstairs, turning to the right once he got to the top of the staircase. "Give us a shout if you need something" Matis said to Katara before she went upstairs too.

Alexia had entered the tavern along with the rest of her group, and the smell of smoked salmon hit her hard. For a few moments, she remembered that she hadn't eaten anything solid for days. Then she remembered why she hadn't eaten anything...
When Katara suddenly shot up, however, Alexia was concerned. She exchanged a worried glance with Matis, then moved to Katara's side.
"Why don't I go with you?" she offered, smiling at the other girl, "I need to know where our room is anyway."
This way Alexia could lend a hand, should Katara need it, and offer advice, should it be wanted. Though, she was going to miss the salmon...

Katara smiled weakly at Alexia and said, "That'd be nice... thank you." Then she followed the man upstairs to a small, but cozy room. It had two beds and a door leading to a small bathroom. It was compatible to the lobby in terms of grandeur. Not too much, but enough to know that it was no backwater hostel.
Katara threw her bag on the floor near the beds and ran into the bathroom. She stared at herself in the body-length looking glass. How could she not have noticed earlier? The early signs were there... mostly the enlargement of her chest regions...
She walked back to the bedroom. She steaded her breathing and said to Alexia, "Thanks for offering your help but... I don't think many people as young as you or I have much experience with this... I think I might be... pregnant."

Dirk walked through the streets of the port town, some people looked at the Sacean weirdly, because they were rare this far from Sacae, but he was mostly ignored. "Hey, did you here about the guy that's speaking for St. Elimine?" "Yeah, they say his words are those of the saint." "Well, I heard that he was once a random drunk off of the street, and he got his power from gnomes." "I'm not sure if that story's correct. Although, some people don't think he's for the good of the people." Dirk walked away so he wouldn't look anymore suspicious. This might not be the best time for the group to move through Etruria, even if they have no choice.
(OoC: Speaking of which, shouldn't our topic be in Etruria?)

Making good on her offer, Alexia had followed Katara up the stairs. She carefully watched the other girl walk, looking for any signs of a wound or anything that could explain her discomfort. They had fought off pirates and been at sea for a while, there could be any number of things wrong with her.
As they entered, the paladin tossed her gear into a corner, not really caring what happened to what little remained anyway. She was yanking off her gauntlets and getting ready to get the heavier parts of her armor when Katara reentered. Alexia smiled reassuring at the girl and waited for her remark.
Of all the things Alexia had expected, pregnancy had not been on the list. Her brow furrowed as she tried to figure out just who the father could possibly be... doubtless someone else in their traveling party. Which only narrowed it to a couple dozen males of dubious morality.
Well, you could rule out Alan, would sooner eat a child than have one.
"You're having a baby?" Alexia repeated, astounded by the news. Still, she couldn't help but feel a bit of joy rising in her chest at the news. Even if it was with one of the surly men who made up their group, it was still wonderful to be bringing new life into the world!
She sprang to her feet, stepping closer to Katara.
"Any idea who's it is?" she finally asked, her voice gentle, "and don't worry too much, I grew up on a farm. I know a bit more about pregnancy than you'd expect."

Completely oblivious to all the drama going on up in the girls' room, Saru and Raen were chowing down in the tavern. When they had caught the smell of the smoked salmon, they immediately left the others and grabbed a table. Oh, there were chairs for the others if they decided to get something to eat, but the table was covered with dishes and bottles. "This salmon is great!" Saru exclaimed as he forked down another mouthful, almost crying from the sheer deliciousness of the fish.
OoC: Yeah, I suppose we should move soon. I think when we leave the town might be a good place for a change if we haven't changed by then.

(OoC: Then I'll let Abin get the boats and supplies some time soon, we just need to assure we don't run into to much villages, and we'll at least reach Bern soon, if we can keep up the pace a little... Man I'm acting like co-captain of Matis Inc.)
While Rean and Saru where having their meals a man walked up to them. Anyone who actually had a least bit of observational skills could see he was not the youngest person in the inn, as both his behavior and looks told that.
Yet, he was traveling alone, and he had enough of the sailors who kept him company, that was why he was searching for another group to travel with. Preferable a group that would actually help him get land inwards again. And he saw such a group in the two who had landlubber written all over them.
Without giving it second thought he sat down next to the two, and immediately replied on the first ones thoughts. "Yes, this salmon is know throughout the area to be the best, I'd love to get the recipe to these, let me introduce myself, I am Lewin, a wandering priest searching for enlightenment."

Offering his slightly messy hand Raen proudly announced," I'm Raen! Nice to meet you! This over here is my friend Saru" Raen poked Saru squarely on the back, causing him to choke. Then with a casual, sly glance Raen added, "I think all the enlightment you need is in this here salmon, and maybe a mug of rum eh?" Raen nudged Lewin to make him feel included and looked expectantly for a response.

At the comment of the Raen the priest laughed. "At least it comes closer to enlightenment then that of our new 'leader'" He let out a sigh, that easily showed that the man was carrying quite the burden with him. "Times sure change fast lately, I guess that just is a part that belongs to wars..."
