Valorian listened as he moved into the top parts of the fortress. His search for Jya and the others wasn't fruitful yet. He was nearing around where they should have entered the fortress now. He listened for any sounds from the rooms, but heard nothing. His mind started to wander for a brief moment as he considered something. It seemed that both parties were here...but they weren't doing the exchange yet. Were they waiting for something? Even so, the Bern Military might show up any time now...shouldn't they have been moving quickly? Something didn't add up.
Valorian forgot that he was supposed to be sneaking around when he turned around the nearby corner.

Isabel turned around after Calvin made his way into the room, only to find that Jya had snuck out already. Isabel raised an eyebrow, and then stuck her head out the door. A flash of green was all she saw of Jya before the assassin disappeared from view. Isabel looked behind her, motioned for Calvin to follow, and then stepped out of the room. She hurried as quickly as she could without making excessive noise after Jya, and quickly found her new friend standing before a corner, knife drawn. And then she heard the foot steps. She turned her head to Calvin, and made the world-known sign for 'sh'.

Calvin the slowest of the group wobbled meaninglessly behind the group. At that moment Calvin questioned, why exactly why they here again? Since he left home he had been beginning for excitement and adventure and now that he had it he wanted to know why, why exactly were they doing this? These thought were pushed out of his head as he heard some footsteps and was told to hush by Isabel. His heart pounded a little, what if it was a bandit? Would they end up like the people at the church? No, not a chance, Isabel and Jya would protect him.

Jya quickly turned the corner and pounced when the steps seemed to be fair enough. It was Val! When she realized her mistake she quickly changed the direction of her blade but it wasn't enough time for her to land on her feet so she ended up crashing on top of the young man. It wasn't all that loud in her opinion but they made a noise anyways.
The most striking of this incident is the awkward position of Jya on top of Val, her head next to her face. When she lifted herself off the spot she was inches away from his face. She sat down plopped on his stomach and turned around to give a thumbs up that they were still safe, completely oblivious to the awkwardness.

Valorian went to raise his staff as the shadow jumped at him. He and Jya realized at about the same time the identity of the other it would seem. She diverted her blade, and he tried to steady himself for the collision. It was in vain though. Jya was light, but he wasn't much bigger then her, and the result was him hitting the ground hard, with his staff slipping from his hand. He landed with a groan, trying to regain his bearings.
And then he came out of his daze to see Jya's smiling face...so close that he could feel her breath on his cheek. His face was flushed with color instantly, and he struggled to find some kind of a remark to make on this situation. When she sat up, now effectively straddling him, it did nothing to help his own discomfort. For some reason, all thoughts of the mission, the life ending peril, the war effort...all of that was out of his mind right now.
What was forefront in his mind was what he was going to do about the girl currently sitting on his chest without a care in the world. He remained silent, still lost for words.
He hadn't even noticed that Jya's pounce had pulled back his cloak which normally kept the stump of his left arm hidden from view.
And so, he just lay there as she happily waved to their companions.

Isabel turned the corner almost as fast as Jya had, but not fast enough that she couldn't stop herself from running into the pair. Jya turned around and gave her and Calvin a thumbs-up, but Isabel was too busy facepalming at the situation and Jya's obliviousness. This position, with her hand in front of her face, was also covering a slight blush from when she had first seen the pair, but it was quickly fading. Isabel removed her hand from her face, facing Calvin. "I'll explain later." she hissed at the bard, and then returned to looking at Jya and Valorian. She facepalmed again, and then moved closer to the pair. "Jya, please remove yourself from him so we can keep going."

Jya turned the corner to assuming to find an enemy, Calvin was at the back of the queue so couldn’t see beyond the corner and therefore did not see Valorian, however Jya was a different case. After seeing it was Val she removed her dagger but still didn’t have the correct timing and ended up crashing onto the young man. By the time Calvin turned the corner he saw Jya sitting on the collapsed Valorian, in a very awkward position. At first his face expanded in surprise but then returning to its original size his eyebrow perked in curiosity. He then noticed the stump that Valorian had and stared at it for a minute, Calvin had never seen such a thing before but Isabel whispered that she would explain it later, Calvin then felt more assured and eventually gave into his nature and laughed loudly. Instantly covering his mouth with his hand he still let out a muffled chuckle hopefully it wouldn’t attract attention.

Jya looked over at Isabel questionably like she didn't really understand. Well she didn't understand what the problem. She let out a shrug until finally getting up and helping Valorian up. Why he was so red, she had no idea... Maybe he was sick? With that thought she put her forehead against Valorian's head. He seemed to relatively average in temperature but that wasn't all that helpful... The only reason she didn't use her hand was the fact that she didn't want to remove her gloves.
"You seem fine...," she stated, putting her hand against her sides.
"So whats the plan?" she asked, completely ignoring the awkwardness that just happened.

Valorian wasn't sure if it was a good or a bad thing that Jya got off of him. But he took his mind back from the gutter and accepted her hand, rising to his feat. With a quick motion, he reset his cloak and picked up his staff in his right hand. He went to try and address Jya and...oh...she was quite close...and...and....
His brain seemed to shut down with her that close. She was so close he could hear her breathing...feeling it run across his face. And then, as quickly as it came, it was gone. She pulled away as if nothing had even happened, making some statement he wasn't coherent enough to understand.
The next thing she said...a question, that pierced his mind. "A-Ah! Y-Yes, of course. They seem to be waiting for someone around here. I'm not sure who, but this could be our chance. I'm going to go spy on the central area, see if I can hear anything. Jya..."
He paused, avoiding looking directly at her.
"Will you watch my back?"

Isabel just looked between Calvin and Jya, an expression of utter disbelief upon her face. "Look, I'll explain it to both of you later." the pupil once again hissed, and then took stock of the situation. Here we had a blushing priest with one arm, an assassin who had just leapt onto his chest and didn't understand why the priest was blushing furiously, a bard who also didn't understand what was going on, and then herself. And oh yeah, they were in a crumbling fortress filled with people who would probably not take too kindly to this little group running around. Isabel sighed with relief as Jya brought everyone back to reality.
The blue-haired, self-proclaimed prodigy stepped in between Valorian and Jya. "We've all got each other's backs." she whispered to Valorian. "I've got magic, Jya's got knives, you've got your staff... And one arm... And Calvin can... What can Calvin do? While we're on that subject, why didn't we leave the bard with Mr. Knight? Okay, you know what, nevermind. Too late to worry about that. You say this is our chance? Then let's do this."

Jya peered questionably towards Isabel, an expression not too different from Calvin’s. At this point Isabel must have the expression imprinted in her memory. When it came to the awkwardness of this situation, Jya was just as oblivious as Calvin. Valorian’s face was a thick red, knowing he was embarrassed, a sheepish smile broadened onto Calvin’s lips. After checking his health was still good enough to continue, the group was finally able to move on from the comical awkwardness. Valorian rose and Calvin’s eyes followed, nobody seemed to make a big deal about his stump which was probably for the best because right now the mission was what was important. After shrugging off a feeling of embarrassment Valorian was able to regain himself and move on with the plan. Isabel stepped between Valorian and Jya and stated everyone has eachothers backs. Calvin cut in after her statement to mention: “That’s what friends do!”Without much of a reaction he continued observing everyone else, not paying attention to Isabel’s whispers. Although it was a valid point, Calvin could not fight or heal, aswell as that his heavy bag made him slow and clumsy meaning he couldn’t even make good bait. Calvin prepared to move out with the group. ((OOC: Apologies a lot of my posts are just Calvin’s reactions, I’m not having him do much which gives you a little less to work with, not being able to fight makes a situation like this difficult ))

"Yep!" Jya piped up a response. She didn't think following right behind Valorian was a good idea but she'll keep watch from the shadows. With that idea she found plenty to work with. The walls were easy to scale and most of it was hidden in the shadows. With that thought she began to climb a ways up to where she was hidden from view.
"I'll keep an eye out from here, don't worry I'll be following along," she chimed in from the darkness. It wasn't as manuevarable as a chapel but it worked in its own extent.

Tara flicked a rock across the boulder she was sitting on. She sighed and leaned back, wishing she had been able to go inside the fortress with the others. She fancied herself a calm, collected person, but... She had wanted to go explore. Her better half knew it would be a good idea to stay with Rayl and guard the entrance, just in case any bandits would try to sneak in and attack the main group.
Tara looked over at the paladin and smiled uneasily. He was an imposing man. He wore his armor, such a size that would surely hamper Tara, like it was nothing. His face was like it had been carved from stone, still and stern, but Tara saw something in his eyes... As much as a non-magical woman could see, anyway. His eyes gave away his guilt, but also his courage. She guessed that in a situation of need, Rayl was a person to count on.
"So, Sir Rayl... Have you ever been here before? Or this area, at least? You seem like you have seen many a battle." Tara spoke up, finally bored with such silence.

((Ah yeah bitches be ready for a big post...well in my standards of laziness))
Usually Rayl wouldn't have joined this people considering he wasn't exactly in jurisdiction...but considering he knew Jya and SOMETHING in his mind told him to...Well when the group had ridden forward the past days to arrive at the fortress, and the moment it was in view...Rayl and Elibe let out sign of nostalgia as once again they seemed to have a flashback, but were pulled out of it while they left to guard the entrance along with that Blue haired woman...neither seemed to mind. The duo looked out through the ruined main area, eyes falling upon one spot in particular with interest when the woman at his side spoke up, wherein he turned down to her and smiled," Been here? You could say that..." He grabbed the old iron lance at his side, holding it out to her to take a grasp of...it was old, it's burgandy shaft repaired numerous times. Adorning the end were two banners, one of of the knights of Pherae, and above it the old banner of the cavalier academy which he graduated from. He pulled the weapon back lightly for a moment as his hand ran along both banners with a tender smile, before holding it back out again:
" I call her the Bandit Slayer. It was this very weapon that dealt the death blow to the Bandit King Hargus five years ago, effectively ending the Bandit War..." NOW both horse and rider recalled that incident: The Sacaen Bladesmen and Alan ran forward to stab the bandit king, who looked up just in time to be run through the heart by a rookie cavalier atop a horse he'd stolen from a bernese captain...Odd how one attack had led him to where he was now...Knight Commander of Pherae, in the holy armor of Barigan...
He shook his head around the same time as Elibe did, and patted the colossal steed on the side,"He was there with me...atop this old nag-" The warhorse decided not to let that comment fly, and reared up, sending the armored commander onto his hindquarters besides the woman,"-I traveled from coast to coast...with that said mind helping a hero to his feet? Heh."

OOC: Glad you joined us in the RP and not just the Cbox Rayl . Ok then, I'll get thing interesting quick so as to involve you all. IC: Valorian watched Jya scale into the shadows. Hah, she was like a wraith, neither seen or heard. The perfect person to watch your back, because then it looked like you were alone. He walked along the paths, edging closes and closer to the main hall. When he got close, he held out his hand to signal the other two to stop. He could hear voices from here... [blue]"Where is what you promised us? This has the making of a trap if you can't surrender what was offered!"[/blue] [red]"I told you, the priest who had the item was silenced. Someone probably got to him first."[/red] [blue]"So they have the item? Then track down and kill the assassin!"[/blue] [red]"No. The priest didn't keep it on him, he said it was hidden here. If he had it on him, anyone could kill him to get it. Apparently whomever put out the hit on him didn't know that."[/red] [blue]"So...the item you promised us is somewhere in this fort...this fort on Bern Soil..."[/blue] The silence was all present at this impasse in the conversation. Finally, the Bern General spoke again. [blue]"Then what need do we have for you? Kill them!"[/blue] [red]"Heretics! Purge them in the name of the Prophet!"[/red] And the sounds of battle quickly filled the halls. Valorian dared to peek over the railing, seeing the blood bath below them. Magic and arrows flying, swords and spears ripping through flesh...it was madness down there. A sound caught Val's ear, and he turned to the side to see a Sniper knocking an arrow. The aim wasn't at him, though it was in his general direction. "Move!" He shouted, shoving Isabel back with the head of his staff as the arrow flew. Luckily, his reaction averted serious harm, as the arrow only grazed his outstretched arm. He winced slightly, but turned the staff on the Sniper. You can do this...focus...remain in control...the power is yours...you control it, not the other way around."Fires of the inferno, scorch the soul! Hellfire!" He called. The book hidden under his cloak glowed briefly, before the Staff head shimmered with a red fire. The ball of infernal fire flew, and crashed into the Sniper, engulfing him with a strangled yell. Valorian looked back to Isabel and Calvin, shaking his head to knock his vision back to normal. "It's...dangerous up here, you need to hide!" He felt exhausted. Could not having used magic for that long really made it that tiring for him to cast it?
