Calvin removed the flute from his mouth and packed t away before wiping the sweat off his brow. He couldn’t fight but he still felt a lot of pressure because his friends were in danger, he could only hope he didn’t mess up and that Rayl had heard the whistle. He turned back to Valorian and Isabel who seemed to be arguing. Valorian yanked away from Isabel commanding she release him. Calvin’s mouth slumped as he listened to Valorian yelling. His voice was disguised with anger, but Calvin could feel sorrow in his words. He wanted to sympathize for him, but his face held a frightening monstrous expression. He stormed off towards the battle. Calvin hoped off the window sill and was about to chase after him but was stopped by Isabel. He took his notepad back and put it in his backpack, remaining silent.
Isabel headed down the wall again but Calvin remained inside for a few minutes, staring at the area Valorian had exited. Worried, Calvin was just waiting for him to come back through that door just as he left. He didn’t want any of his friends to turn out like the people of the church. His eyes watered and a few tears escaped, dropping onto the cold stone floor. He wiped his eyes and sniffled, he knew Isabel would scold him for acting the way he was, but he couldn’t help but feel worried. He had a slight regret for coming with everyone… Just then he heard a familiar voice from down below! Rayl heard the signal and was here to help. Overcome with joy and hope he wiped his eyes and fixed himself up. Now was not a time to regret, he had to help his friends! If he was able to signal Rayl, then maybe there was more he could do to help. With a childish smile comfortably sitting where it belonged he leapt back onto the window sill and yelled down at the others.
“Rayl! Tara! Valorian is in trouble, there’s a big battle inside and he got angry and left!”
Just then he remembered that someone was missing! It was Jya! Jya had parted ages ago and still hasn’t come back!
“And Jya’s there too!”
He looked along the outer walls where they had climbed up and noticed a long vine extending up the wall. Unfortunately it was weak and withered but Calvin couldn’t tell. He crawled down the wall a small bit, coming down was a lot easier than going back up. He reached out for the vine to try and slide down but instead, the entire vine tore, causing Calvin to lose his grip and fall to the ground in a thud. Rubbing the back of his head and shaking himself off he stood up as soon as he had recovered.
“Please do something!”

Valorian was moving about the fortress quietly. Or at least quietly compared to the raging battle taking place. He turned down the halls and spied the main gate...damn it, they had sealed it! Where it once was open, a large wooden door stood baring the archway. Even if Raly was alerted, that door would doubtlessly slow him down, and that was going to mean trouble. Still, one blast of magic wouldn't get through that door...and if he tried to break it he'd give away his position.
So Valorian placed his staff down for a moment, focusing the power of his magic into his right hand. The orb of magic formed, the spell ready to fly forth, and he kept it held. And then her formed a second spell, similarly holding it and not discharging it. When he created the third, he traced a rune in the air to combine the three spells, and fired the incredible blast of magic at the door. The wooden door exploded in a shower of splinters and sparks, drawing all eyes from the fortress. More then a few of the eyes found him.
He dove back into the shadows, dodging a pair of arrows and a javelin. He felt dizzy...and really weak right now. He paused to look down at his arm, and grimaced, before sliding the sleeve down over it and taking up his staff again.

Isabel shrugged at Tara's comment. "Perhaps you are qualified to talk of strength. Perhaps you aren't. But I... Woah I get all serious when I'm winded don't I?" she said with a forced laugh. She sighed, rubbing her temple with her left hand. "Ugh... Yes, I believe I'll let you two handle most of the fighting. I'll help wherever I can... No promises on being very helpful, at least not for a few minutes."
The pupil then heard Calvin's yells, and grinned. "Well then, let's not keep them waiting!" And as Isabel turned back to face the fortress, the front gate exploded in a huge fireball. "Woah. That was cool."

Tara threw her arm across her face, shielding her eyes from the light emitted from the fireball. She stood still, amazed at how someone could have so much power to blast the door right off of its hinges. But she did know that showing off was not very good for wizards...Now all the men in the fortress would be after whoever made that blast.
"By the gods! I hope Calvin is okay! Well, now is as good as any other time. Isabel, stay behind me, and don't overexert yourself." Tara drew her blade and headed towards the remnants of the gate. At least they didn't have to climb the wall anymore.

Jya hid silently in her little spot waiting for all the sounds outside to stop. That wouldn't be any good! What if the others were in trouble!?! That was when all her senses returned, the fear and anxiety that came over her had subsided. Now was a time to think clearly and assess her situation. After a few seconds of silence she quickly flung the piece of cloth over her head just when an armored unit trudged in.
This person appeared to wear the same sort of armor as the man she had killed. Both of appeared to be alarmed to see each other but Jya was faster to react. She quickly unsheathed her Quadkiller but as the man already had a lance ready, he simply charged forward. She was caught off guard by his speed and attempted to get out of the way. The lance soon struck her against her shoulder and the wound pierced to the other side. Her position also allowed her to get pinned to a wall from behind.
"Who are you!?" he demanded, his voice filled with a sense of disdain. Jya simply looked wide eyed for a second until he twisted the lance and pain once again shot through her body.
"Who...are...you?" he said in a darker tone, leaning closer towards Jya. That was a mistake.
"Just Jya..." she replied with a wry smile, her hand still gripped on her sword. This was her last chance as she quickly lifted the weapon and thrust it through a dark area of the armor between the helmet and the shoulders. This caused him to let go of the axe with her still pinned and staggering back outside before falling over on the ground. She lightly touched the wound and pain simply shook through her body.

"Don't worry about me! I'm not in any danger, so long as you guys do your job and I hide properly from their archers. No, it's you two who should be careful and not over-exert yourselves." Isabel said, her grin almost believable by now. "You two are going to be in the thick of things, and as you've said, you aren't very experienced. I'll have your back with my magic! It's honestly not that taxing." Which was a complete and utter lie, but... Better to have Tara and Rayl believe she could hold her own in this. Err... At least that she would be able to provide decent magical support.
Hopefully they don't have any light magic users amongst them, or my dark magic will be worse than useless until they're taken out...

Valorian found himself hobbling down the hallways now. His right arm was going numb it would seem, and his leg was starting to rebel as well. How much more magic could he manage to cast like this? He saw an armored knight come stumbling out of a room, and fall flat on the ground with his armor spewing blood. Looked like a knife had hit one of the connection points in the armor below the helmet...that was practically a calling card. Valorian looked into the room and gasped. Jya was practically crucified to the wall!
"Jya..." He gasped, moving towards her with a labored struggle. Quite odd since he didn't appear injured. "H-Hang on." He mumbled, trying to will his arm to move. It was a fight, but he eventually regained some control of it. He hooked the staff into the gap of the axe and pulled, the blade slipping out of Jya's shoulder. As he did so, Jya would see that most of the skin on his right arm appeared to be darkening. It didn't appear that way earlier when he had lost his cloak.
"J-Jya." He panted out, reaching into his bag and pulling out a Vulnerary and an odd crest. "Get out...get this...to Rayl." He spoke weakly. "I'll cover you." He knew the crest was worthless, it was part of the disguise he wore, but hopefully Jya didn't know that it was worthless and would take it and leave this place.
As far as he'd come, his death was practically guaranteed now. But hers...that was not yet set in stone. So maybe...he could save someone after all.

Jya gasped a bit out of surprise as Valorian came to the rescue and pried the lance out. She noticed something strange with his arm as well, something was wrong...at least that was what the back of her mind told her. As Valorian told her to move out of there and give some item to Rayl, she applied her own Vulnerary in a quick and sloppy motion.
"I'm fine," she said, as upbeat as ever. Taking a few consistent steps onward. She gently held her place to help Valorian hold his own ground, it looked as though he would fall over and die like an old dog.
"Come on lets go," she stated, thrusting the crest back at Valorian.

Tara rushed in to the fort, her sword held close to her body. It was a mess. Jya and Valorian were huddled together, Jya a bloody mess and Val... he seemed about to fall over! They were at the opposite end of the room, and there were quite few opponents between them. The only positive thing is that because the pair had been attacking on that end, most of the enemy's weaker units, such as archers, were close to Tara. Steeling herself, she ran at the closest archer, her sword held behind her, ready to swing with the full force of her momentum. She neared the archer...
In the heat of the moment, Tara had lost aim and tumbled to the ground. Her sword had only served to catch the archer's attention. It had grazed his quiver, leaving him unharmed but alarmed. Tara shook her head at her own clumsiness and got up. The archer was trying to back up, but Tara used the residual moment from pushing herself off of the floor to swing at him. She hit this time, though barely. She landed a slash right across his chest. It was nothing too deep, but it served to give Isabel a chance to fire her magic.
OoC: Let me know if I got the setup of the room totally wrong.

Once everything was said and done Rayl was off without a word into the fray. There were a pair of double doors in front of him, and for a moment he smiled...just a moment. He'd always wanted to do this.
The old door was kicked to the ground, the subsequent crash causing a man with a stave and a man with a lance to back away from the immediate area and stare at him...each man unsure of who the man in the armor was fighting with...however the man with the staff soon glowered and started shouting,"It's him! The man who writes lies about our holiest prophet of St Elimine!" He raised his staff in preparation to strike, only to find himself pushed back by the shield bearing bernese spearman, then knocked to the ground and stabbed as the paladin rode past and into the fray. He wasn't about to attack the bernese, as he advanced past a heavily armored axeman gave him a nod locked in combat with a moderately armored swordsman with a shield.
"Stand down, misguided men of Etruria, and you will not be harmed!" he held his shield up for a moment to make his already large presence more noticablethe response to this was from a magic user in the form of a blast of light magic erupting against his now exposed chestplate, nearly sending him out of his saddle as an angry Elibe charged forward, allowing Rayl to re-adjust before spinning his killer lance and thrusting it through his robed adversary,"Men of Bern, Myself and my friends are not your enemy, focus on the Etrurians who have infiltrated your country! The men garbed in white and gray!" removing the weapon from the dead bishop, he began scanning the surrounding area for Jya and the others.
The swordsman from before darted in to attack the unaware paladin, only for the axeman from before to take advantage of his now distracted opponent, shoving his axe into the man's back, the two exchanging a nod before the two split to continue their agenda.

Valorian was finding it rather hard to stay focused. Jya had forced something back into his hand...some object? Oh...this was that worthless piece of metal he'd given here to try and get her to leave. But she wasn't leaving. Why would she not leave? That was just dumb.
"Go...yeah..."He mumbled, shuffling after her. As they moved into the hall, they could hear Rayl shouting, and the battle seemed to slow for a moment. Until finally.
[red]"Kill them! Kill the heretic to the name of *Gack!*"[/red]
A rather mouthy bishop had been calling orders, and Rayl had just run him through. The remaining Etruians seemed in disarray, and were panicking. Excellent. Valorian was still coherent enough to realize that he and Jya were not going to be welcome here. She had been killing both sides, as had he, and he was dressed like an Etruian.
"Come on..." He said weakly, leading her towards the door he'd just blown off of it's hinges. "We don't want to be here when the chaos ends."

And Isabel took the opportunity provided to her, as her dark magic seeped into the floor, only to reappear around the archer. Thin tendrils wrapped around him, crushing the life out of him, until the archer dropped. Isabel took a step backward, shaking. "That's... That's the first time I've ever managed that..." she whispered so none of the others could hear her. While typically a reason to celebrate, she had killed a man and the magic had taken more out of her than she expected. She stumbled backward, falling down, and heard an arrow whizz past where her head had been but a moment before. Isabel forced herself to get up and dodge over behind the start of a passageway, removing herself from the fight. Hopefully Rayl would be able to keep them occupied long enough for her to recuperate...

The fall had taken a lot out of Calvin, and although the adrenaline of his first adventure disguised the pain, he would surely feel it later on. Calvin grinned menacingly; it was probably the first time such an expression existed on his face. Everyone’s roles of the battle had been decided. Although he himself could not partake, he felt accomplishment in summoning Rayl and Tara. He stood by Isabel’s side as she confidently prepare to enter the fortress, when suddenly the door was blown off its hinges in a fiery attack. Calvin crouched behind Isabel in fear, using his arms to cover his head, before peering out from behind her to see nobody was aiming at them. Relieved he sighed and laughed nervously before standing up again. Now that the door was blown open, all attention would be on them.
The group of soldiers rushed into the fortress. Calvin knew heading into the battle with them was a risk, but staying by himself would be even more dangerous, he quickly followed the others into the fort. As soon as he entered his eyes met the scene of a full on battle, with metal clashing metal, magic and arrows flying from one end of the room to the other. Calvin was struck with awe, he thought the fight at the church was intense, but this scene put it to shame. His legs wobbled but he knew he would be safe as long as the others were here. He watched as Tara and Isabel teamed an archer. Tara failing to strike at first, picked herself up and slashed across his chest, while Isabel took the opening as an advantage and fired a spell. Her dark magic sunk into the floor and wrapped around the archer. Calvin had never seen Isabel use such magic before, but he had expected none the less from a prodigy. Calvin’s attention was suddenly drawn to the yelling of another man.
“It’s him! The man who writes lies about our holiest prophet of St Elimine!”
Calvin rejected the questions in his head focusing his attention on the source of the cry. Then he saw Rayl butcher a priest and ride confidently into the battle. Calvin watched with awe, wishing that he could fight, that he was as strong as Rayl, or Isabel. All of a sudden Calvin leaped off his feet as an arrow drove into the ground beneath him, just missing his feet. A frightened “eep” escaped his throat as he looked to the left, only to see an arched with his bow raised, one eye closed and aiming straight at Calvin. Calvin’s eyes widened, then shut closed instantly as he ducked the attack. The whooshing sound the arrow made as it skimmed the air above him told him the arrow had missed. He peered through his hands to see the Archer readying himself for another attack.
“Isabel!”
Calvin yelled as he ran towards her.

Jya trudged along, a blade on hand in case she needed to tear through others to get the both of them out of there. It wasn,t long until she found a blocked path with people trying to kill one another. Then there was Valorian... He didn't seem to be alright. She crossed over to the closest ally which happened to be Tara.
"We'll all get out of this," she said indicating Tara to help her with Val.

Isabel sat herself up, so she could look at Calvin. She groaned as she did, and although she was a little shaky, she was obviously unharmed. "Calvin. We need to get out of here, preferably quickly. Me and you won't last five seconds against this many enemies..." And then she stopped talking, thinking. "When did you get here, anyway?" With that, the self-proclaimed prodigy stood, her legs almost unable to hold her weight. Again. If I ever want to be of any use in battle... I need to be much stronger. I need to be able to cast untold numbers of spells... she thought, and then leaned herself against Calvin's left side.
"I have no clue where we are. I do know, however, that the fighting is behind us... So let us go forward and hope we can find a crumbled wall or a rotten door to the outside. You'll need to support me until we can get away though. And don't worry about the others; they are more than capable of handling themselves... Now let's get going."
