NIBELONG VALESTI!
*Cough*
Matthias, out of the NON Seraphic Gate(Bonus Dungeon) permanent characters, besides Valkyrie, Arngrim is clearly the best. Nobody does more damage or is just as GOOD as he is. Freya...is a little weird. I used her in the bonus dungeon at the beginning, but she quickly became outstripped by the others.
Matis:
Helpfull hint I forgot to mention, comboing supers. Every time you preform a super, the gauge will drop a certain amount, if the character can refill, then another character will be able to do a super. If you pull off all four, the last persons aura will be gold, with a cracking sound effect. Their finisher will deal 1.5x as much damage as normal. It's not important now, but it will be vital later on, when bosses have ass loads of DME. Remember thi.
Full Nibalong Valesti: Restores rough 65. Final Blast: Restores to full. Ether Strike: Restors NOTHING, has to be used as the last in the chain. Not like it matters, just felt like using an example.
With a little luck you should be able to get the timing down, good luck.

Yeah, Final Blast is definately useful.
and Lumino, Lucien will always kick Arngrim's oversized butt. He's not permanent though, I'll give you that. Which is why you should definitely train Arngrim. Mystina's good for the last slot... Though some of the other mages work fine.

Ewww, Lucian was terrible in my game. The only thing he was ever good for was his third attack dropping assloads of gems and stuff. Also, watch the spoilers. I know this, but Matis doesn't.

Bleh. I don't mind such minor things. Lucian won't be on the end. Then, he either:
1. Dies 2. Becomes the enemy 3. Is injured and can't fight 4. Plot-hole(less likely, of course)
And poor Lenneth, you changed her PWS attack name...twice. It's Nibelung Valesti. >_> And I knew about the 4th skill power up. But I didn't know they also had side effects, such as healing. I had already done a 4 character PWS combo, but I ended it with Freya(15k damage FTW!).
Also, I must say that Llewelyn's(did I spell it right?) PWS is actually quite good. 10 hits at 110 damage each(at the moment) = 11k damage. That, compared to Lenneth's 7-10 hits(I don't know how many does the Antles Sword does) at 70-80 each is overkill.

Llewelyn is a good character for now, but I prefered Belenus.

I've got Belenus, but I've yet to try him out. Since I'm going to send Llewelyn in the first chapter, I'll have to use him for the moment.

Llewelyn is good, but often gets sent up as a result of an archer request that pops up. He's my favorite of your three and a half archers.
And I never really liked Belenus.
Sorry about the slight spoilers, but I never see character names as that big a deal... personally... I could also drop hints regarding various party members (let me just say Arngrim's cursed).

Yes. Not in the traditional sense. It's more a bad thing for everybody who knows him...

I don't mind such small things being spoiled. But I would hate something like an ending or a big plot point to be spoiled before I get there in the game.
And I already sent Llewelyn up. XD By the way, should I teach spells to my mages? Fighting skills are learned by everyone, but spells are for one mage only... And seeing that I'm sending Jelanda soon...(well, a couple chapters left for that, but)
I got Nanami in Chapter 2, by the way. So I have another mage in my party.

Yeah, the ending here is not something to be spoiled... except for the crappy ending that you get if you don't jump through the hoops. that ending sucks. The real ending is the stuff of legends, and what the sequel's based off of (I loved the sequel, right up until they jumped the shark...)
Teach your mages heal for one thing. It's more useful than you think. Possibly the revive spell as well. As for magic, that depends. I find Prismatic Missle, Fire Lance, Frigid Damsel to be useful. There's also a light spell that I can't remember right now. It won't hurt to have one "exploding" type spell either. Something like the stone spell, another name that escapes me.

Mystic Cross and...? I DO know how good Heal is. 80% DME to all characters is actually amazing. I have yet to use a single recovery item thus far. Jelanda has Fire Storm(basic) and Nanami has Lightning Bolt(basic as well), and I have Fire Lance x2, Frigid Damsel, and one or two more which I can't remember now.

Mystic Cross is the one I'm thinking of. Fire Storm kinda sucks. I wouldn't waste too many magic spells before you get whomever you decide to keep. You definitely want one mage as a solid character to use, instead of just sending up. There will be one like Arngrim. It takes a little bit for her to join, but she's actually pretty good (one of my personal favorite characters). There's about three that are commonly used. Most people don't care too much for Nanami or Jelanda.

Really Lorenta and Mystina are the ones for me, usually Mystina. And Mystic Cross is by far my favorite spell, it's Super Magic is amazing.

Mystina and Mystic cross.... Sounds like we have eerily similiar teams and styles...
Lenneth Arngrim Lucien (later I usually use Jin or some other light swordsman) Mystina
