I used Jun in one of my play throughs, his super LOOKS cool, but it is not too effective. Belenus was ok...I never did find a fourth party member I really liked. Though on time I used 2 mages. Boy was THAT vicious.

Yeah, except when they're not both charged... I tried it too. I realized that about Jun too. Though, if you give him Valkyrie Favor, he does pretty well. Lawfer would be better, but I almost always send him up (sorry Matis, if you haven't found out Lawfer dies yet). I think I first used Jun on accident, and found he looked pretty cool, and he didn't completely suck (I'm looking at a good portion of the characters).

I'm almost at chapter 3, so yes, I knew. However, it was not clear how he died. They just show him standing next to a cell(which contained what seemed to be Arngrim's brother...).
And I like Lawfer so far. If only his PWS charged the Hits bar more... Also, when Freya asks you, for example, to have a tactician, would level 6 in Tactics be enough?

I generally max out whatever she asks for. It turns out the best. Six probably works fine. It shouldn't be too hard if you took the Emerald Necklace and pass it to characters as you level them.
And you don't find out how several characters die. Some of them you watch (and they have dramatic death scenes) others, just sort of show up.

I will try to max the stats, then. And yes, I'm trying to fully abuse CP gaining items(I made a Spinning Spear for Lawfer right away. What's 2000 MP when you get an extra 20 CP per level?).

I was looking at various games on amazon, to see prices... Some of the games I sold for like $10 a few years ago are worth five times as much.... and I've come to realize I've got a ridiculous valuable PSX game collection... (I have copies of the entire Lunar series, ToD2, Star Ocean, Valkryie Profile). Kinda makes me mad that I got rid of those games though... Thousand Arms... Legend of Mana... FFVII (don't know what i was thinking there)...
Yeah, I'm ranting...

Fun that you mentioned FF VII, because I watched Advent Children today. A nice fan service, if I can say so. Not movie, just fan service. Just a run up:
1. Cloud and Tifa get to sleep together(although not in the way it may sound. They get knocked out in a flower bed). 2. Tifa gets to kick a bad guy's ass, but still fails along with everyone else to destroy Bahamut SIN, when Cloud does so alone in a couple of hits. 3. Sephiroth flies 4. Cloud single handedly takes Sephiroth down with one hit(an upgraded and cool looking version of Omnislash)
Want me to go on?
And yes, Matthias, old games nowadays are worth a fortune. I have a copy of Wild Arms 2nd Ignition in mint condition, and I've seen it go for $250 sometimes. Although some new games are also quite pricey too. Like Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow for the DS. Only a handful copies were made, and the game turned out to be EXTREMELY popular(in fact, it is considered the best DS game so far).

Advent Children was beautiful. The script was wonky, the acting was sub-par, and I really didn't want to watch Cloud fight off all three guys on a motorcycle eight times (okay, it was actually four, but I'm doubling it for effect). And you forgot to mention that Tifa then proceeds to get owned by the bad guys. Unless you have spiky hair, you are not allowed to hurt bad guys.

I thought that Advent Children was good, except for one thing, Cloud using his friends to jump higher, when he doesn't even hit the ground, during the Bahamut fight.

And you forgot to mention that Tifa then proceeds to get owned by the bad guys. Unless you have spiky hair, you are not allowed to hurt bad guys. What about Cid? He had spiky hair too! >_> Yeah, the motorcycle fight was good to begin with, but once you have seen it 4 times...well, we could say it gets on your nerves. And true, she does get owned badly afterwards. And as much as AC's graphics kick ass, and how it was done ALSO makes it look amazing, it's just that. Looks. The script was a nice way to make Sephiroth come back, but the way they played it wasn't the best. They made Tifa be better than the rest(she was able to fight on par with Loz, atleast), and Cloud be ten thousand times stronger than all of them together. Hell, he survived a shot to the face, being impaled through the shoulder, and hit god knows how many times(by Loz, Yazoo, Kadaj AND Sephiroth), all coupled with the geostigma's weakening. And he still kicked some major ass. Overpowering much? Nah, you're just dreaming. >_> Cloud using his friends to go higher wasn't a bad idea. He CAN jump high(as we have seen), but he can't fly. He could have jumped from place to place in the building, up to the top, but from there, how was he supposed to get to Bahamut SIN, who was out of his jumping reach? That's why he needed help. And the ending was weird. Right before defeating Sephiroth, Cloud was quite weak(he gets attacked several times, falls to the ground, etc), yet, a couple of seconds later, he obliterates the guy with an upgraded Omnislash. How come?

I never watched Advent Children, and I don't plan to.
I have a hatred of that series, just because it introduced a lot of "vets" to Final Fantasy, that think it is the best game ever.
I resolved that I would ONLY see that movie on one condition.
If Barret was voiced by Mr. T.
He was not, so I didn't see it.

There's an official dubbed English version Dirk, you know. And I didn't like FF7 either. But since a friend let me borrow it, I said "Why the hell not?".
Didn't surprise me in the least, but One Winged Angel is one hell of a last battle song. Probably the second best "Epic Last Boss Battle" song I've heard, first being the very last stage of Devil May Cry 3.

Heh, I didn't care too much for FFVII either... I got it on Netflix, because it was supposed to be beautiful. It was.
