"Indeed I am. Sailed the sea for forty years I did." Mikar sighed "However I was marroned by my own crew, who also pushed me wife overboard. And at the time she was pregnant." Mikar looked down at the ground, not wanting to remember. "I never saw her again, or our child." Mikar looked up at the Sacaen man. "The seas we not all bad though. There was treasures, and incredible sights. We even fought off a dragon we did." Mikar breathed in deeply and exhaled. "Those were the days." Mikar looked around the camp, "Sad thing is, I got nowhere to go."

Yaen nodded, listening intently to the mans story. He did not show any signs of shock or humour when the man claimed to fight a dragon. It very well may have been true. Then again, he did seem to be a little older than most, so it could be senility. Either way... "Well, what a coincidence." Yaen replied. "I have nowhere to go either. However, I'm currently working for the Marquess of Santuraz. Perhaps you can come with me. I'm sure this army could use a seasoned man like yourself."

Mikar thought it over for a second. 'Well it would bring the excitement back in my life. And, what better payment for saving my life by defending yours and others." Mikar smiled, "Ya got yourself a deal." Mikar looked around again, "Now uh, where do I sign up?" He said in a somewhat joking voice. The only fighting he's done in a long time, is fighting his back pain every morning. Mikar smiled as he, never had a real place to call home, or a real family, besides the one on his ship. For the first time in a long time he was, happy.

Yaen nodded, smiling back. "Allright then!" Signing up? "I honestly don't know." He admitted. "You see, I was actually hired indirectly, by a knight of Santuraz. However, there were...complications, and our group was seperated. I found this group, and one of the young men that were hired with me, and so, here I am." he explained. "I'm sure we can work something out, though." Yaen then stuck out his hand. "My name is Yaen. A drifter of sorts and a wanderer after a fashion, with a life story full of shocking irrelevance, and thankful for it." he greeted good naturedly.

Mikar shook Yaen's hand. "Nice to meet you Yaen! My name is Captain Mikar, but you can call me Mikar, or Mik for short. I am a drifter as well, I've been wandering around my for years, learning life's lessons." Mikar smiled as he stood up and stretched. "Shall we?"
"And again thanks mate, I won't be slowin ya down. I may be old but I still got it in me." Mikar said as he swung out his axe and twirled it around. He has had that axe for years and It never let him down.

Yaen likewise stood up and stretched out. "Yes, lets." he replied, taking the lead. "I'm sure you won't. I could use a strong guy like you around." he commented, slapping the man on the back.

Mikar followed close behind Yaen, as he led the way. Mikar smirked as Yaen complimented him. He was quite strong for his age, he had to be, otherwise he wouldn't have made it this far. Mikar cracked his neck as he followed Yaen through the camp.

Aerious looked down at Gabriel, and spoke. "Tell me...what do you think life was like before the Scouring? In time, humanity would feel superior again, and attempt to subjugate. Besides, they won the war, a human would not ask for anything from one they defeated. They would just take what they want. You really believe they would be willing to listen to anything we had to say?"
But when Gabriel mentioned the weapons lost in time, Aerious roared with laughter. "Those weapons were brought to bear against my kind a scant five years earlier." He said, pulling open the shirt he wore to reveal a scarred stab wound, the edges of which were tinged blue, as if frozen. "The Frozen Lance, wielded by Bagian himself, pierced here..." He pulled up his right sleeve to show a long, red cut. "And the Blazing Sword cut here, held by the Little Warrior when he ransacked Ostia five years past. Or did they neglect to mention that these ghosts of the past were returned by a man named Hargus? The Frozen Lance itself fell into the hands of a man named Alan, whom I have battled personally. These weapons still do exist."
At the remark that nobody could make them, he scowled. "Yes, and we didn't think anyone would be able to make them all those millennium ago. But they did, so what would stop someone from creating them if they felt the need was great enough? You have a smith with you, perhaps if the need was dire enough, and the forbidden magics discovered, he would be able to produce such a weapon. Who knows what humanity is capable of..."
He looked at Saffra, as if to address a previous conversation. "I care not whom you entrust with your secret. But to walk around openly as you have places you and your companions in grave danger. If you care for their safety, as you claim, then you should act in their best interests."

Aren was riding with Rayl as many things changed, splitting up and he just followed Rayl. He didn't know why he did it, but yeah Aren was lost in thoughts until he got out of it as he looked to the group. He petted his horse as he didn't really know any of the new people, there was Rayl and Gabriel the mage, but he couldn't quite remember the rest of the group as he would talk later to them, when it was time for him to talk and not interupt the people.

OoC: "all those millennium ago." It's been ~1000 years since the Scouring took place. >_>
"I..." he stuttered. "I was not aware of such things. Perhaps they were hidden from the public to avoid spreading panic? But why would they hide that, and not the fact that dragons are still alive? It makes no sense."
Ransacked Ostia five years back...The Blazing Sword...Durandal?
"None of us has any right to keep you here, so do as you wish, but let me ask you another question before you decide what to do. I heard that a man single handedly took down most of Ostia five years ago. Then there were stories saying that Saint Elimine had been seen amongst the people of Delfia. By ghosts of the past...you don't mean that someone actually brought back the heroes of the war...right?"
There was word of a short and strong man wearing a sword nearly as big as his own body. Could it really have been Roland, founder of Lycia?
Argh. My head's spinning...
"As for what I said before, I didn't mean for humans and dragons to be as nobles and commoners, but rather for an alliance, or at least a truce, to be formed within them. That way dragons wouldn't have to hide. I know it sounds weird, and it doesn't have to happen now, but Saffra is living proof that dragon and men can co-exist. After all, it was like that before the war, more than a thousand years ago."

Saffra looked at Aerious thoughtfully, and nodded, turning her back on the other manakete and look around for a moment. She felt like she was being used by Gabriel as a sort of pinnacle that could be trusted, but really, she had just met them, and wondered just how much everyone trusted her...no...that was a bad thing to think about now.
Turning back around and, Saffra gave a leveled glance towards Aerious, and spoke quietly.
"If you say so, I will do it."
Slowly, Saffra moved to a tree nearby, and leaned up against it with arms crossed, allowing Gabriel and the dragon to talk further. Aerious decided more on warning and dissuading her, instead of particularly engaging her in conversation, and so, lost her interest in trying to re-affirm that.

Wyatt had been thunderstruck for the entire conversation, but when he was gestured in the conversation, and as a possible creator of new divine weapons, he nearly jumped out of skin. Half because the dragon, while much less intimidating now, gestured to him directly, and half in the idea of making something that amazing. He looked around and noticed, rather suddenly, that a few key figures were missing.
"Lord Rayl...? Lady Aevian?" He asked, looking around for the two most notable absences.

Aerious glanced at Gabriel, this human was interesting.
"Indeed. The one you humans called 'Hargus', a petty thief, found a way to revive those heroes. Though how he managed to obtain their weapons, which have long since been sealed away by the last of those eight humans, is beyond even my knowledge." He approached Gabriel and looked him over.
"Boy, you interest me...what is it you are called?" That was probably the closest Gabriel was going to get to friendly with the dragon, who then turned to Saffra.
"And I believe your name was Saffra was it not? I care not for the company of humans, but I will not leave you without any support. If you ever need my assistance or advice, I live in the southern mountains of the Great Desert. I would always be willing to help a sister in need."
He glanced off into the horizon. "The air of this world is changing again....it's making me restless...something is happening. Something not normal." Though at this point he seemed to be musing to himself.

Hargus...yes, that was the name of the man that was blamed for the way five years ago. But...to think that he found a way to revive the dead, and somehow got hold of the weapons? How?
Gabriel took half a step back as Aerious approached, not sure of what the dragon would do. He knew it'd be useless to resist, anyway, were anything to happen. He put his left foot back in place, and bowed. "Gabriel Waltz". Aerious wouldn't be interested to know where he was from or that he was a noble, so he decided to omit that part.
"The air...changing again....restless...not normal." It was hard to hear what Aerious had said.
"'The air is changing again?' What do you mean? When..." he stopped. Gabriel realized what the dragon was talking about. "Was the last time you felt like this...back a thousand years ago?"

Saffra turned back to Aerious once she heard her name and gave him a once-over kind of look, as if studying him and the way he stood for that brief moment, before flashing a smile to her kin, and gave a small respectful bow. Her eyes had closed for the moment, and when she went to stand up tall once more, her head tilted somewhat to the side.
"I will definitely seek you out then, Aerious, should I seek your counsel, or need common company to which someone may understand me with."
What kind of common company that may be, she didn't know herself, but perhaps she may need to see him just to feel at ease and know she was not alone in this world. She missed home, but it was not time for her to return just yet. Still, as he spoke, she found it troubling the way he finished off.
"It is..? Hmm...I wonder if it's a change for the better.." Saffra didn't sound too hopeful for that, but she tried to feign optimism.
