"Sure, when we have the time, I'd love to ramble on about the good ol days." Mikar listened as the man talked briefly about his past. "By far would I be on sea than land, I was born on the ocean and I want to die on the ocean." Mikar looked around as if to see the ocean behind him. " To tell the truth, I haven't been able to sit down with anyone and talk about my past, least not in a long time.

"There you are, Wyatt." Yaen clapped the smith on the shoulder. "I've been looking everywhere for you." The Sacaen looked from Wyatt to Valcrist. "Oh, who is this?" he asked.

"Hm, well I've never been too steady on the ocean. Each to his own, I suppose." He wondered why in the world a sea dog like Mikar would be traipsing around on land with a Lycian army, rather than at sea. "But if that's the case, Captain, you must be a little out of your element in a land-based unit. You here for fun, or what?"
Looking at Mikar, he could see that there was a wealth of experience and wisdom behind those eyes, and maybe a touch of sadness. Not that Harlow was an expert at reading people, but he got the feeling that Mikar would be interesting to have around.

Mikar looked at him and chuckled a bit. "Just the opposite I'm afraid. I was working for a mercenary company in Sacae, until I was almost killed and I had to make a break for it. I wandered all the way through Sacae till I met up with this group. They sheltered me and welcomed me in. Since I can't go back to my crew who marooned me, I guess I'm staying.

Wyatt listened to Valcrist, and shook his head. "Nah, never heard of it. Is it in Lycia? And don't worry about being weak on your smithing, you'll learn a lot more when you work on a real suit of armor. My first job on armor was on a set made for someone shorter then me, now boy was that tough work. The small details are what make the job hard."
He looked over to Yaen and grinned. "Oh hey! How's it going? Need something?" He seemed to recall now, of all times, the sword that Yaen had when that dragon showed up, he saw it on his belt right now...
"Umm...hey Yaen...could I see that sword? I've heard they are of amazing quality, I'd love to take a good look at it."

Gabriel got up from the ground, dipping his hand into water once more before getting on Starlight. He had found out when talking to Lucy that the horse was female, and because of the lack of a rider she hadn't been given a name. Apparently Lucy shared the same passion for horses as Rayl did. 'Starlight' seemed appropriate. She was as white as the stars up in the sky, with an equally white mane.
"Golden Lance division of Pherae, knights of Caelin and Araphen!" he shouted, trying to rise his voice above the rest as he made his way towards the front of the group. "I realize many of you are new. My name is Gabriel Waltz, second in command of the Golden Lance division. She" he said, turning his head towards the more experienced mage "is Lady Lucy Cus, first in command. Welcome to the group to all that I have yet to personally meet."
"Word has spread that Etruria has finally made its move and has attacked Ostia. We are to gather the forces of Lycia and make an alliance, so as to try and oppose Etruria. Our next destination is Laus, to the west. Given that we don't know when Etruria will strike again, I suggest we move fast."
"Agreed. We don't have time to lose."
And the sooner we get to Ostia, the better. There might still be someone alive there...

Chelsea listened closely to Gabriel's words. Once he finished speaking, she gave Kelvin a look before jumping up on Spirit. She had a feeling the peaceful journey that had had thus far was about to be over. It scared her, she to admit. She hadn't been in real combat yet and she wasn't sure if she'd be able to handle it.
But for now, she pushed those thoughts from her mind. She was her father's daughter, after all. And she had Kelvin to protect her. She looked over and saw Karina getting ready. She smiled happily, she knew she'd be there to protect her as well. When she turned forward again, she spotted Valcrist and called to him. "Come on! You're not saying no to a ride this long!" She gave Kelvin a smile and a playful wink. "Don't be jealous now."

Harlow was about to respond to Mikar when he heard a voice raised above the rest, so he turned to listen.
"...Our next destination is Laus, to the west. Given that we don't know when Etruria will strike again, I suggest we move fast." The young mage Gabriel was drawing to a close.
Back toward Ostia again? Harlow thought. Interesting turn of events. I guess you can't run forever.
He wondered if they would stop at Laus, or actually continue on to Ostia. What did they hope to find? Didn't they know Ostia was gone? He could attest to that, if need be. But Laus - Laus was still standing, and it looked like this group was determined to keep it that way, so onward it was. He was ready.

Mikar listened to Gabriel say it was time to go. Mikar was ready to go, he wanted some action of some kind. He had not had a decent fight for a long time. Mikar walked over to Mikey. "Okay bud let's get goin." Mikar said as he hopped on Mikey.
Mikar went over to Chelsea, Kelvin and the others were. "Who's ready to hit the road?" Mikar asked with a grin on his face. Mikar heard a rumbling noise and it sounded almost unnatural. It turned out to be his stomach. Mikar reached in his pack and pulled out an apple. He bit into the apple and patted his horse.

Kelvin smiled a little at Chelsea's words as he climbed onto Kashmir. "I'll try," he said jokingly, "No promises though." He noticed that Harlow was without a horse, so he rode over to him. "Harlow," he said, "It's a long walk to Ostia. Why don't you ride with me?" He said, extending a hand. Chuckling a little, he called back to Chelsea, "Try not to be jealous now!"

"No actually it's in Nabata." He said to the fellow blacksmith. He thought for a moment about his comment about the small details being the hardest part. Oddly enough the small details were by far the easiest part for Valcrist, he just lacked in the actual forging. Sometimes he didn't hammer the metal just right, and the blade turns out fragile and weak, breaking with only a few swipes of the blade.
"I'm Valcrist. Novice swordsman and blacksmith." He turned to the swordsman in Sacaen clothing, eyeing the blade that Wyatt was. If he was right, it was a wyrmslayer. The shape, the hilt, and the blade itself was exactly like he had seen his mother forge before. It was an incredible blade, the craftsmanship was remarkable and it even looked like it could pierce the toughest dragon hides. "I'll leave you two. I'll see you later Wyatt." He smiled and made his way around, finding Kelvin and Chelsea.
"They let me join." He said cheerfully. "I guess I'll be working with you guys from now on." Then Chelsea offered him a ride again. He looked away awkwardly, a faint flush of red in his face. Kelvin made a little joke about jealousy, it was definite that they were an item. Now it felt like they tried to hammer it into his head everytime the were near each other. Regardless he climbed aboard the horse and turned his thoughts elsewhere. "I can't wait until we get to Laus, I've never been there before."

Harlow tried to hide a smirk as he accepted Kelvin's hand-up onto his horse. "What a gentleman! Nice to know chivalry isn't dead," he said flippantly. "Could you hold my pack while we're at it?" He cast a glance towards Chelsea and Valcrist, seeing the way the boy was awkwardly seated behind the archer girl. My, my, he thought, how interesting. I wonder if that girl is aware of the effect she has on young boys. What a group dynamic we've got going on.

Chelsea gave a smile to Valcrist. "That's great! Welcome aboard!" She paused for a second. "I've never been to Laus either. I wonder what it's like there." Probably like a mix of Pheare and Caelin, she though. But then again, what did she know. She knew another of Lycia beyond what she had already seen.
She then turned to Kelvin and stuck her tongue out at him and giggled. That's when she stopped Harlow and realized she hadn't actually met him yet. She bowed her head a little bit. "Hello, sir archer. I'm Chelsea. I don't think we've formally met."

"Yeah... I actually kinda want to go to Badon. I want to see the ocean, but Laus is fine too. If I remember right, it's right by the river." Valcrist had basically memorized the map on Elibe in his many lonely days in the desert. He spoke to the back of the girl, but realized her attention was on Harlow right now, so he decided to stay quiet. Looking down onto the horse's back and his hands, he slowly began to twiddle his thumbs, feeling out of place.
He wondered when they were going to leave and thought to himself quietly. Atleast I'll be able to see Lycia, that's more then I could do on my own...

"Hey there, Chelsea," Harlow said, waving at the girl. "I'm Harlow. Funny we haven't spoken yet, seeing as you were there when I stumbled into the ranch house before. I take it you're from Sacae?" He said, gesturing towards her garb. "The archers from Sacae are known for their skill. It will be a pleasure having you around to keep me on my toes. It won't do to be bested by a child like yourself." He smiled to let her know he meant it in a friendly, rather than egotistical, way. But he was truly rather interested to see her in action. There hadn't been any other decent archers in Kazak's group.
