Chelsea gave him a smile. "I'll be sure to give you a run for your money." She giggled. "Maybe we can have a shooting contest one day. I'll warn you, though, I'm a bit of a dead-eye." She gave a playful wink to show she meant it in a friendly way too. "We of Sacae pride ourselves on our archery, as I'm sure you know. I'm even working on shooting from horseback. I'm getting pretty good," she said, grinning happily. She had a feeling Harlow and her could learn a lot from each other.
She then turned back to Valcrist. "I'd really like to see the ocean someday, too. Maybe our journey will take us there one day. If not, I'm sure we could always go once this is all over.'' She had always wanted to see the ocean, ever since her father returned from a trip there. "You seem to know your geography pretty well. Lots of studying?"

"Lots of lonely days surrounded by sand and wishing for water." He smiled gently. "I would always love to read maps and imagine the places in ink. I've... I've never seen an ocean. Neither did I ever see snow. I wanna see these places one day." Did... d-did she say we? "Still, it's something to look forward to." He added with a small laugh. He looked off into the distance, feeling uncomfortable staring at the Archer's back.
"Maybe me you and Kelvin can all go see the ocean once all this is over?" He said quietly, not exactly sure she could hear. Then again with how close the two were on the horse, it would be hard to not. He felt immediately odd after saying that, as if he just superimposed himself into their relationship. They weren't even really friends yet, so he quickly pulled the comment back. "Erm, I'm sorry. Nevermind what I said, I talk without thinking sometimes." He laughed nervously and looked down at the horse's back again.

Chelsea gave a little smile at that. "Ya, we could do that. I'd like that, actually. It could be really fun." She looked over her shoulder at him and saw him looking down at Spirit, as if he were sad or something. "Are you ok? You look... down." If he looked up he'd see concern in her eyes. Sure, they hadn't known each other long, but she didn't like to see anyone upset. Life should be full of happiness, her father had taught her that.

"No, it's ok. I'm fine. Today I was able to leave the ranch and go see Lycia. I've meet a lot of people today, and..." Hopefully, made some new friends. He lifted his head a pulled off a somewhat forced smile. It was a weird day alright, today he met Wyatt, Kelvin, Harlow, and Merio. He also met lady Lucy and Chelsea, so he had no reason to feel so... weird. He felt embarrassed, and altogether odd about the whole situation. Chelsea has been nothing but nice to him, and Kelvin hasn't been mean either. It was just...
He sighed. "It's nothing." He quickly pondered the thought of drawing, but realized it would be really hard to do so while riding on a horse. He probably couldn't concentrate right now anyways. His mind was kinda scattered right now. Part of it was back at the ranch, another was focusing on the blade the Myrmidon toted around, a piece was stuck back at home and sick of all this traveling, and another was on Chelsea...

"Well, if you're sure..." Chelsea wasn't fully convinced by his words, but decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. She leaned her head back so she could look up at the sky again, making sure her hair didn't get all over her passenger. She smiled up at it happily. She couldn't help but think her family was smiling back at her, where ever they were now. They'd be so proud of her. That's when she decided it. No more tears. Her family would want her to live her life and reunite with them when the time was right, but not before then. So until that time came, she'd make the best of things.
She looked over at Kelvin and smiled. "So Mr. Smart Butt, you gonna be able to keep up with me or are you gonna let a girl beat you."

(OoC:The Wyrmslayer is strapped to his back.)
Yaen blinked. "Huh? Oh, you mean this?" He askes, partially unsheathing the blue dragon-killing sword. "Sure, why not? After all, what good is a sword if it has nothing to teach?" He asked, fully unsheathing the blade. Resting the hilt in one hand, the flat of the blade in the outher, he held it out to the young smith. "Just don't break it, allright? I don't think I'll ever be able to afford another one of those."

Kelvin laughed a bit, "A wild horse like Spirit beat a thoroughbred like Kashmir? Ha, the would be the day! I would accept your challenge, but I don't think Valcrist or Harlow want to be shaken up. But trust me, I can keep up, but can you? I'll bet Mikar can do better than you!" Kelvin said with a big grin and a small, joking wink.

Wyatt placed his hammer on his back, and reached out both hands open palmed as if he were receiving some kind of sacred relic. As Yaen lowered the blade into his hands, he tried to drink in all the detail. The odd contours of the blade, the dazzling colors swimming through the metal, the flawless craftsmanship. He stared and marveled at the weapon, even taking a quick swing off to the side to see how cleanly it glided through the air. Wyatt had never seen such a fine weapon, and said not a word as he examined it.
After a minute or so, he seemed to snap out of his trance and went to hand the blade back to Yaen. "What a weapon. It would be my dream to forge something of that level of craftsmanship."

Chelsea glared at Kelvin. Without realizing, he had offended her. "A wild horse? Just because she came from the plains? Does mean I'm 'wild' too? Just because we come from the plains means we're not as good as you Lycian 'thoroughbreds?'" Her glare grew more pronounced. "I thought you were better than that. I guess I was wrong." With that, she turned her back on his and lead Spirit to the other side of the group, putting as much difference between him and her as possible.

Yaen chuckled at Wyatt's enthusiasm as he sheathed the sword. "This sword is beautiful. Too beautiful for the purpose which it is intended. I pray I will never have to use this sword, and yet, my hands tremble in anticipation at the chance to wield it." Yaen said, in his normal pseudo-philosophical style. "The sword is a wonderful thing, Wyatt. It is different than any other weapon. An axe and a lance can both kill a man just as easily, yes, but they are simply that. Tools of war. The sword...The sword is more than a tool. It's an art." he mused, taking a seat on the ground. "There are so many ways to craft one. Swords with one edge, swords with two, swords that don't even have an edge, but a sharp tip. And to wield it. Each one with its own styles to learn..." Yaen sighed, an almost dreamy expression clouding over his eyes. "Thats what all true swordsmen strive for. Knowledge. Any man can hold a sword, but it takes a true swordsman to realise the magnificence he holds. The sword teaches both beauty and uglyness. Both wonder and horror. Peace and war. Life and Death...." Yaen looked up to the sky, a look of bliss on his face. Blinking, he shook his head. "Sorry, I went off rambling again." He apologized with a sheepish smile.

Kelvin realized that he had done something stupid. Nothing new really, but still something he should apologize for. "Chelsea, wait!" he shouted after her. He urged Kashmir after her, hoping she would listen to him. He pulled Kashmir along side Spirit. "Chelsea, I didn't mean it that way. I didn't realize that it would offend you. I'm sorry." he said, trying to explain himself quickly. "You have to remember I'm the son of horse breeders. It's a term we use for horses that weren't raised on a ranch. I didn't meant she was inferior in any way."

Mikar watched as the couple argued. He chuckled to himself and It began to remind him of his wife. He immediately looked away an his smile faded. He didn't want to be reminded of that, especially not now. Mikar pulled on Mikey's reigns slightly to order him to slow down so he was slightly behind the group.
Mikar bit into his apple again and gave the rest to his horse. Mikar's hunger got eaten up by sadness. Mikar patted his horse on the head and relaxed his shoulders and leaned back some. It was nice to relax once in a while, especially after wandering aimlessly for days.

As he approached, Kelvin was met with another glare. "If you didn't think that would offend me then you really don't know me at all. You should know better than most how horrible Lycians can be toward us Sacaen. I don't care if it's one of your 'rancher terms.' A Sacaen has nothing more important to them than their pride, and you just insulted mine." By this point her eyes had started to water. "Why don't you just get away before you do anything else."

At the mention of his weapon being simple, Wyatt was slightly offended. "I think it's a foolish claim to think ones own weapon is the only one that is deeper then it's steel." He said, patting his axe with his hand.
"My dad used to always say, 'It's not the metal that makes a masterpiece, it's the hammer, muscles and mind behind it.' You could have Durandal itself, and be worthless with it. But a master with a slim sword of iron can slay armies."
Slightly profound for the young smith. "Only weak warriors will blame their failings on the craftsmanship of a weapon they did not create." He said with a nod. "And I think Sir Rayl might have a thing or two ta say about the 'Lances are simple' comment." he added with a grin.

Kelvin knew that it was probably best that he stay back for a little while. He stopped Kashmir for a moment, and when she was a good distance away, started Kashmir moving again. Kelvin turned to Harlow with an apologetic look on his face. "Sorry you had to see that. I realize this must be really awkward for you."
