Yaen took a long, deep breath, savoring the clean smell of open air and fresh grass that the golden plains supplied in plenty. "Gentlemen," He said, looking back to Valcrist and Wein, and then Arturia,"And Lady," he quickly added, "I welcome you to my home land." For the first time in a long while, Yaen was smiling. It felt good to feel the soft Sacaen earth beneath his bare feet. He'd forgotten just how good it felt

It was very... wide. It was also quite amazing, but definitely wide. Back in Lycia there were always forests, a town, or a mountain of sorts to break up your vision. But here, it was nothing but plains as far as the eye could see. It was amazing in its own way, and definitely something he preferred over the desert. In fact, he had never seen so much grass, so much earth. "I like it." He smiled. He slipped off the sandals of his new outfit to feel the grass under his feet. It beat mud, so very much.

Arturia could see a vast plain, very different with Etruria or Lycia. She closed her eyes, enjoying her surrounding, the cool breeze touched her skin, the fresh air entered her lungs, the wind played with her long hair. It was a new experience for her, she never went to Sacae before. Her new companions seemed enjoy the plain too. Nothing could be seen except grass but she liked it.

Wein sighed. So these were the plains of Sacae, the only country in Elibe Wein hadn't been to before. You'd think it odd that a person had visited Nabata and not Sacae, but here was Wein, Ostian noble, scholar, and wanderer standing for his first time on the grassy seas. Nothing but grass as far as the eye could see. No books could have prepared him for how weird the openness felt. With nothing on the horizon, it almost seemed like here the sky touched the earth. It was easy to see why the Sacaens believed in the oneness of nature. To be frank, though, the emptiness meant this was really all there was...which was kind of boring.
The archer noticed his male companions slip off their shoes, but Wein didn't follow suit. The pure-blooded Lycian in him would never take his boots off in unknown land. "So Yaen, where to? I tend to be good at navigating, but..." The archer gestured towards the great open plain. "I don't really have any landmarks or anything. Besides, it is your homeland."

Yaen was clearly pleased with their expressions. He looked at Wein like the man had said something outright hilarious. "Sacae has only one land mark that will appear on any map." he replied. "And thats Bulgar, the only real city we Sacaens have. It's close to Bern, as well." he explained. "I promised to take the young lady here to the Bernese border as is, so that will be our goal. After that, well, we'll build that bridge when we get to it." With that, he started out into the plains.

Arturia crouched and felt the grass with her fingers, she enjoyed the soft sensation. It was her first time to be in Sacae but she already fell in love with this land, she never went to a place like this where she could see a vast plain. This land made her grief fade away for a moment, and she could smile for the first time since her parents' death, not a fake smile but a real smile she had when she was happy.
As they started moving, her mind was wandering to her companions. She looked to the men, the Etrurian noticed that she didn't know their names until now. Weird, she forgot to ask although they had travelled together since they left that forest. She moved closer to them to ask their names. "Hi. My name is Arturia Garland. Nice to meet you." She introduced herself first, she was taught to introduce herself before ask for someone's by her parents. "Can I ask your names?"

Val quickly put his sandals back on to follow Yaen, but stopped for a moment and looked at the woman they were traveling with. He knew nothing about her.... but she looked calmly at the plains. She must of liked them too... Come to think of it, he didn't even know her name. Well, Yaen may of said it a few times offhand, but Val was never really paying attention. He just kinda stared as she looked out to the plains with a small smile...
As soon as she turned he instantly looked away, pretending he hadn't been creepy just a second ago. Then she introduced her self, like if she read his mind. He responded with a small laugh. "I'm Valcrist Terris. A pleasure to meet you Arturia." He bowed his head to her as he spoke.

Wein gave a slight bow. "My name is Wein Lowell. I'm an Ostian scholarly noble turned adventurer. Pleased to meet your acquaintance," he said with a flourish of his hand. Usually the archer forewent the formalities of a greeting, but this here seemed to be a proper lady, and thus the situation required a proper greeting.
Wein then turned back to Yaen. "I've heard of Bulgar. Quite the jewel, if the stories I've heard are correct," he said. Peering into the distance. "Still, my bearings are completely off. I'm assuming you'll be leading the way?"

Wait... was he supposed to say more then just his name? Wein was giving his full title and job and... hey. He's a noble? He didn't seem that noble-y, then again Gabriel was a noble too but he didn't exude hoity-toityness. Then again Val's only experience with nobles are the rich ones who bought his mother's weapons and armor to look fancy and show up their noble friends.
"Erm, I'm a Nabatan blacksmith and aspiring swordsman." He added hastily after Wein said his piece. Now he felt foolish. He turned and pretended he wasn't incredibly embarrassed and childish, pulling out one of his maps. There were no landmarks to go by, but he could tell their general location by the sun and the direction they've been traveling since the last town. He didn't say anything, since he knew he was probably wrong or something, but according to the map and his skills in reading it, they were headed East.

Yaen glanced back. "Hmm? Oh, right, names. I forgot." He always seemed to forget introductions. "I'm Yaen. Thats about it." he replied. He didn't have a last name, and if they hadn't figured out by now that he was a drifting sellsword with some sort of grudge against footwear, then they were probably too dumb to live.
"Allright, lets get moving. Like I said, Bulgar is the only city in Sacae, and it's also the only man-made structure in Sacae that doesn't move, so unless you want to stick around here forever-not that that's such an awful fate- we've got to go." he said, reminding his little rag-tag group of their goal. "Who knows, maybe along the way we'll run into some of the nomads."

Now she knew how to call them. Valcrist, Wein, and Yaen, they looked like good peoples. Actually, Arturia was little scared when she told them her name because she was listed in wanted list after her escape from Etruria. Fortunately, these peoples didn't care, or maybe didn't know about that. But, she was sure if they were good peoples because they gladly accepted her to go with them to Sacae.
She giggled when Valcrist turned, he seemed embarrassed. "Don't worry Valcrist." She said and then smiled to him. She wouldn't teased him more and just followed Yaen. The myrmidon said they were heading to Bulgar, the only city in Sacae. The blonde cleric couldn't wait to see what it looked like, she felt excited.

As Wein broke into a stride next to Yaen, he decided to inquire about the swordsman's situation. "So how did you end up in a cave being assaulted by more of those grizzly wolf things?" asked the archer. "Last I saw of you, you were lost in fire."
It wasn't impossible for Yaen to have escape the blaze, as clearly could be seen, but considering the size of the fire, Wein was still quite interested on how his friend had dodged almost certain death.

Val followed behind and kept his big mouth shut before he said something else stupid or embarrassing. Wein and Yaen talked about something that happened before he met either of them, so he had no place to say anything anyway. "Sorry." He kinda said to the woman with them. Instead of talking he decided to doodle in his sketchbook, he trusted Yaen knew the right way enough that he didn't have to bust out a map every ten seconds.

Yaen looked over to Wein. "I was. And I almost didn't get out. The smoke was so thick, I couldn't breath. I almost gave up and died. But, well, something made me get up and make a final dash. Spit in Death's eye, I guess you could say. Next thing I knew, I was on the other side of a river bank, which was the only thing that kept it from getting back at me. I wandered for days with awful burns untill I ran into a travelling army. Thats where I met up with the lot back there. They were going to Ostia, I still had that contract, so everything worked out. And well, the rest is history." he said with a wave of his hand. "It was luck, Wein. Pure, unadulterated luck. So lets not look a gift horse in the mouth."
The plains really did seem to drag on forever. But Yaen didn't seem to mind, in fact, he seemed at peace. In spite of the sun beating down, in spite of the fact he was walking without shoes, in spite of everything, he looked happier than he ever had. He was finally home, where he belonged.

Arturia felt bad for teased Val before, he was quiet since then. She thought it was because she had said something unnecessary to him, Val just tried to introduce himself in proper way. "It is me who need to apologize." She muttered to herself. She didn't felt right if she didn't say it now so she made her way towards Valcrist. The swordman was walking not far from her. She then noticed that Valcrist drew something in his sketchbook, the cleric forgot her intention and just followed Valcrist right behind him looking to his drawing. She always interested to art especially dancing and painting.
