The trip to the City of Heroes should have been exciting. Sacae Raiders or Eturian Army or something, but it was blissfully quiet. For once in his life, Valorian would have welcomed the violence, it would have given him something to think about other then how terrified he was. Instead, he had three days of nothing but travel to dwell on what he would say when he arrived. And now, standing at the border of the settlement, he could find no words for how to describe what he wanted to say. He needed to enter, to move in and find them. He willed his leg to move so he could finish this.
But it would not. His body was frozen, refusing to enter this place of peace. This was a place for families, people to recover after the Bandit War. What right did he have to bring a memory of such a painful past back to these people who'd worked so hard to find peace?
"I...I shouldn't have come here..." He said, his voice shaking. It was quite clear that he was rapidly losing his nerve.
OOC: It just occurred to me that I have no idea what this place looks like. Whoops!

The quiet trip to the city was honestly a nice change of pace; Isabel was perfectly fine forestalling the next time she would have to fight and kill. It also gave her time to read her book, which was probably the only reason she didn't talk much during the three day journey. It was a surprisingly good book, despite the fact that it moved at a snail's pace... Three days of reading and nothing had even begun to happen in the book! Just Delgade meeting some...
Oh look. They had arrived. And now Valorian was freaking out. The sapphire-haired girl sighed, and shook her head. The boomark went into the heavy book, and it snapped shut. "Valorian, for the love of... I am kind of tired of walking, and I'm not keen to head up into Ilia without getting at least one of good, solid sleep. You can sit out here and rot for all I care; I'm going in." The girl then stopped to think. "On second thought, you're the group leader, and I'm curious... Oh, come off it Valorian! Why, by hell, can't you go in?"

The trip was long, but Calvin was with his friends, he spent a lot of his journey drawing on his sketch book. It made him oblivious to how long the journey took. The group finally arrived at the city of heroes and the journey had come to an end. Calvin’s attention turned curiously to Valorian. His voice was shaky; he said he shouldn’t have come. Calvin was confused, he was the one who wanted to come in the first place, and now he doesn’t want to anymore? Calvin watched in silence as Isabel asked why he can’t go in.

Jya had followed and done a few things. She liked the Sacae, it always felt safer, perhaps it was her choice of clothing. Many times she had simply dove into the grass for hunts and practice. It worked to say the least.
The travelling had taken a bit of pressure on her but not much. She was actually feeling quite well. Soon enough they were before their location and Jya just popped out of the greens when the others stopped. Val didn't seem as though he wanted to go any further.
"Come on Val...I mean..." she tried to get him moving but it seemed as though he was resilient.

Valorian stalled for a moment, turning to Isabel. "Didn't I tell you? Those I have wronged in the past live here..." He said, his eyes betraying a very boyish sense of fear. It seemed slightly out of character for him, but there it was. "And now...I stand here on the outskirts...what can I even say? 'I'm sorry?' As if that would ever be enough..."
Even from here he could see people wandering about the town, doing their daily work, cheerfully greeting each other. A group of children playing, some teens practicing their swordplay, adults tending to the fields or moving carts of goods about the town. Valorian saw this, and became depressed again.
"Seven years. They made this place in seven years. I spent the last seven years hiding from myself and what I did. No more, it ends here, today." With a new sense of conviction, he took the first step into the town, slowly moving through it. Now what to do? Would he just wonder, observing the town and hoping he found them, or should he ask for their location.
"I have something I have to do here. If you have things you need to do, feel free. This is something I really have to do alone." And he began to move down the street. The group of them got the occasional odd look, they were certainly odd travelers for this far out of the way. Mostly it was coastal traders that came through here. Adventurer's and their kind were very rare.

Isabel was about to respond with an 'oh yeah', but then Valorian was off, saying he had to do something alone. Isabel stood there for a moment, her large book in her hands, staring after the sage... And, oddly enough, didn't really feel like pursuing him. And so the young shaman stood there, until finally she became restless and turned to Jya, Tara, and Calvin. They should probably avoid Valorian for a little while... "So, as the elected team leader while Valorian is away, I vote we go find the stores and browse!" the sapphire-haired girl said with authority that was pretty much imagined. "Unless anyone has any better ideas... Like finding someplace to eat... A blacksmith's shop... Or we could just mill around aimlessly..."
Isabel turned her head to face the city again. "I guess it doesn't matter; we can't do any of that stuff if we just stand out here! Come on, let's get a move on." And with that, she was off walking the same steps as Valorian had taken almost a minute ago into the City of Heroes.

Tara wanted nothing more than to comfort and go with Valorian. Though he looked much older without his disguise, he still seemed like he needed someone to help him to get by. She knew better than to interfere with the magician, so she stayed put. She sat down, trying to collect her thoughts. She heard Isabel talking, but it was like someone was saying something through a thin tube, like Tara was far, far away.
A cold wind blew against her cheek. Yes, it was cold, but it was a cold Tara had known her whole life; a cold she loved. Someone's hand pulled at her side, causing her to turn around. She faced Luth, and he kissed her tenderly. A flash, and she was on her knees in a tunnel, Luth's head resting on her lap, having just breathed his last. She stifled a shriek.
Tara woke up to an empty camp. The rest of the group must have gone into the village. She got up, grabbed her sword, and headed towards the town.

"I worry about him sometimes," Jya stated with quite a concerned touch to her voice. She did, after all the poor guy had been poisoned! Isabel seemed to have a good idea so she best follow along with them. She'll keep her ears out just in case someone pointed out Val's description and anything dangerous sounding. She knew he could take of himself but one can't be too cautious.
"So whats the first stop?" she asked, following right behind Isabel. Sure they would stand out but as for Jya, she was hardly concerned as disappearing was one of her few specialties.

Isabel turned her head slightly to look behind her. Calvin and Jya were following her... The pupil wondered silently as to what Tara was up to. Not like there was much to do back where they had been standing. Speaking of doing things... "Well, I sort of want to pick up a new tome, and maybe grab some new boots for Ilia... Perhaps another, thicker cloak?" The sapphire-haired girl shrugged. "I don't really know, little miss assassin. What do you guys want to do first? Eat some lunch or something? I don't really care; I can wait to buy my supplies."
Isabel did want to buy a new tome. She had been toying with the thought while they were on the road; during their stops at night, she had been practicing her Flux tome, with greater success each evening. Even her energy reserves were growing. If nothing else, it would be good to have a more powerful tome just as backup in case the magic in her Flux tome wore out. It would suck to be left weaponless. And thicker boots would be good for walking through snow, as would a thicker cloak. Maybe one with a hood to protect her ears and stuff. And, of course, lunch was always important.

Everyone tried to persuade Val to enter, it was for his own good, they were only trying to support him. Calvin was saddened by Valorian, he had no idea what Val did that was so bad, but if they were his friends they should forgive him. After all, Calvin and the others forgave him and don’t even know what it is he did. He parted from the group, leaving a saddened expression on Calvin’s face. He wanted to help, but if not helping was the best way to go about it, Calvin would let it go. His attention turned to Isabel who decided to explore the city of heroes. Calvin followed the girls as they walked.
“I don’t mind, I’ll just follow along with everyone…”
Calvin spoke with a rather distant expression, a lack of enthusiasm in his voice. Just what is it Val did?

Chelsea silently rode into the town. She wasn't sure what town it was at first, but after a few minutes she began to remember where she was. City of Heroes. She had been there once. Not sure how long ago now. Things were different then. Happier times. She stopped in the road near the entrance to the town and looked around. Where had she gone last time? Too long ago. Couldn't remember. Oh well, not important. Where would she go now? Shop? Inn? Didn't really matter. Lots of people around. Interesting. Something going on she didn't know of? Possibly. She rode over too a nearby stable and paid for Spirit to rest there for a little while. Might as well see what was happening here. Hm. Where to start first?

Kelvin had been riding for days now, stopping only twice to rest. He had left Bern quickly and had been blindly searching Sacae. He didn't even know where to look but he had never lost hope that he would find her. He had finally decided to rest in a town for a night so that he could fully regain his stamina, and continue the search the next day. He arrived in a town called the City of Heroes, and stopped at the first inn he saw. After paying for room and board for the night, he brought Kashmir to the stable, and as he was tying him up he saw a familiar sight. At first he didn't believe it, but then he moved closer and got a better look. It was Spirit, Chelsea's horse! That meant she was in the town. Now all Kelvin had to do was find her. How hard could that be?

Jya was deep in thought and couldn't really respond to Isabel. She wasn't sure what she needed to be done here. Truth be told, this place was the same as any other town or city she visits. She was simply unable to comprehend a city based on other's exploits mainly because she wasn't there. Before long she found herself separated from Isabel and began to roam through the crowd. She adapted her steps to match the citizens and tried to make herself as natural as possible. This worked only to a certain extent and she found that perhaps going higher up would help.
With her body still cooperating, she began grabbing hold of different parts of nearby buildings and climbing her away around. It was a nice view and she thought it best to simply sit and wait for some familiar faces to pop up or something to happen that needed her attention. There really wasn't much for her to do but contemplate on trying to figure out what her problem was. It felt as though she forgot something important!

"Well then we can go.... Jya?" Isabel started, before realizing the assassin had left to who knows where. Which meant, with Tara way behind them, that it was just Calvin and herself. In a strange city. Without the comfort of knowing her friends where nearby, Isabel suddenly found herself feeling strangely vulnerable. But she was a prodigy, was she not? She could do more than defend herself and Calvin. It still didn't feel right knowing that Jya or Valorian or Tara wouldn't be there with them. On the bright side, this allowed her to focus on her shopping first...
"All right Calvin, just me and you. Let's see if we can't find a store that doesn't carry any tomes of interest to me." the pupil said. Her eyes flitted right and then left, as if almost expecting someone to attack them. Geez, she was paranoid. Loosen up Izzy... It's a city of heroes, not bandits and thugs! she thought, and then reached over to grab the bard's left hand with her right. "Come on!" And with that, she began dragging Calvin behind her in search of a book or spellbook store.

Chelsea walked through the city. She was used to cities now, but still not used to cities like this in Sacae. It seemed out of place. Maybe it was, wasn't her say. She bumped into someone as she walked. Didn't apologize. Got called a name or two. Oh well. She really didn't care. She kept weaving her way through the crowd. She passed some interesting people. Was interesting the right word? Didn't matter. Old guy talking to himself. Couple fighting. A pair of younger looking kids running by, one dragging the other. Who knew what you could run into here.
