Jya wandered off on her own, leaving just Isabel and Calvin to wander throughout the city. Calvin was happy being with just Isabel, he was happy to be with any of his friends. Calvin smiled to Isabel’s comments and nodded, sometimes it would seem Calvin is just there for Isabel to talk. That however skipped over Calvin’s thoughts, he was just happy to be with his friends! As he looked around the strange city something happened! Calvin still hadn’t realized, he never made it to Bern! His main objective was supposed to be earning money in Bern, and yet he never even went. They made it to the outskirts and even the ruined hideout. Yet as they inched closer Calvin and the others turned off in the opposite direction. Oh well, he hadn’t realized it so what was the harm. Calvin continued smiling as Isabel spoke, grabbing his hand and dragging him off in search of some spell book store. Calvin’s eyes darted around the city in hopes of finding one. However he probably wouldn’t be any good at it considering he’d never seen one before. He just looked for words related to spell.
“Let’s ask someone!”

Isabel barely registered Calvin's suggestion. This was a nice little place, much better than the ruined fortress for sure. There were people all over the place... But, as far as she could tell, not a single store that might sell old books with magic in them like she was searching for. Maybe she was going about this wrong? The pupil suddenly doubted that there would be a great big sign proclaiming 'WE SELL SPELLS' or something to that effect. Magic was secret, subtle, and deadly... So they either needed to look for public restrooms or down in the side alleys. Isabel absently nodded to Calvin, and then proceeded to keep dragging him along in her wake. Every time a path split off from the path they were taking, she would look down it, over and over until she thought she had found the right place. The alley veered off to the right of their path, and, while it didn't seem terribly different than the others... Something down this way just felt different to Isabel.
Isabel found herself standing in front of a small building with one window showing piles of books and a few overgrown plants... And a sleek black cat with bright green eyes staring out at them. No sign proclaimed that this was any--- Oh wait. On the door, in peeling white letters, were words. They read "Vlecka's Books and Herbs". Isabel frowned. She had been expecting something... Different. "All right, let's go in and see what Vlecka's got, shall we?"

Jya sat huddled on top of the roof. She was getting bored of waiting and decided that it was probably a bad idea especially with that kid pointing up at her. With that thought she half climbed and half slid down onto the ground. Where did the others go? She was feeling really uneasy being by herself but that shouldn't be strange seeing as she was used to travelling alone. Did joining Val, Isabel, Calvin, and Tara make her this way?
She was so bothered that it got to the point to where she didn't care if she stood out. It wasn't long before she heard a whisper here and there as well as a few pointing fingers at her. She saw it from her peripheral vision because when she turned to look, they quickly turned away. What were they talking about? Now that she had something to do, she found a place to slide into the darkness and listen from out of the view. Of course she changed areas as well.
"Hey you heard about that killer?" a man asked another.
"Yeah, I heard they call it The Emerald Wraith, the question is where it came from you know?" an older man asked.
"I have no idea, all I know is green is its color," he laughed, before nudging at the old man to move along.
"I heard it killed a priest in cold blood! I guess we best have a look out for any green colored menace," the old man chided.
Jya looked down at her own clothing. Was she being mistaken as a killer? She liked the color of green as it helped her blend in. Well she was sure there was no way she could be considered a cold blooded killer. It was just a fashion that one prefers, they can't go about banning that sort of thing... She was now walking around quite unsure of what to do now before situating herself in somewhere out of view while keeping an eye out for others.
"Hey, Madeline says she saw a green cloaked person wandering town," a woman told another.
"Maybe it can be that priest killer?" another replied and both of them continued on the gossip. Oh my, someone cloaked in green? Was there anyone else that fit that description? She had to go find the others maybe they were in danger from this killer!?

Kelvin dashed out of the stable. He had been physically exhausted moments ago, but now the realization that he was much closer to his goal than he had originally thought had reinvigorated him. He was now full of energy as he jogged down the street searching for any glimpse of Chelsea he could find. Every time he would catch a glimpse of orange hair, his heart would skip a beat, only to a drop a little when he realized it wasn't her. This was harder than Kelvin had expected. He was beginning to get discouraged and the fatigue from his travels was catching up to him. Just as he was about to give up and head back to the bar for a drink, he caught a glimpse of some familiar looking clothes out of the corner of his eye. He turned toward the person and immediately recognized the orange hair and the head band holding it in place. His heart leapt for joy, and he dashed in her direction. "Chelsea!" he shouted, a large smile erupting onto his face.

Calvin and Isabel stood still for a while, Calvin watching Isabel as her head scanned the surrounding stores. She must really want to go spell book shopping. The thought brought a gentle smile to Calvin’s face. He was glad to know like he enjoyed his music, Isabel also had something to interest her. It was very exciting at the same time, Calvin had seen her spells with his very own eyes, it was the first magic he had ever seen, and it was awesome, powerful! He wanted to travel with Isabel and watch her strengthen her magical talents; maybe someday she could teach him! Immobile for only a short time, Isabel continued moving again, Calvin following as per usual. Her head peered down every dark alleyway, every split path and creepy corner, covering almost every square inch of this town. It took a considerable amount of time, but efforts not wasted the pair finally found something of interest. The pair stood in front of a small building. Grey stones constructed the walls, and a small, dusty, hard wooded door. It appeared as if this was just a room built into the side of a building, but to Calvin’s surprise it was a store!
“Vlecka’s Books and Herbs! OoOoOoOoO! This looks promising!”
Calvin clapped once. The building was a little odd looking, but it seemed cozy, or at least, it seemed like it USED to be. Next to the door was a single window, the glass a little hazy, almost frost like. However it still gave an accurate view of the inside, piles of books of different colors shapes and sizes, plants unraveling their vines over, across, and around the store in twisted patterns. Calvin smiled as he noticed the cat in the window. It was large, not huge, but certainly matured. It had soft thick black fur and bright, deep green, intimidating eyes glaring at the teens. Calvin chuckled.
“A kitty! Let’s go in, I hope we can find that spell book!”
Calvin followed Isabel, letting her open the peeling hardwood door. The door slowly slid open, activating a small bell on a curved flat metal hook attached to the top brim of the door. A small jingle rang, drawing Calvin’s attention upwards to the pretty gold bell. The door opened most of the way but eventually stopped hitting against some books lazily stacked behind it. Calvin entered in after Isabel, his eyes now getting a full glimpse of the interior. The floor was a dark wood, each panel nailed together in a sturdy pattern, leaving it creak-free. The walls were not painted on the inside and the grey stone wall was left visible, oddly matching the floor. Scrolls and frames did however, enshroud most of the wall. The room was surprisingly large, even if most of the size was disguised by shelves, products and decorations. Calvin’s attention was drawn mostly to the books. There were many letters and symbols etched into the covers of the colorful hard backed novels and spell books. There were also shelves stacked neatly with books in order of size, aswell as the few stacked on the floor. Most of the stacks were neat but one or two were loose and unstable, most likely put there for the time being.
Other shelves contained other products, things like crystal balls, ingredients, bowls and a lot of knick knacks. The colors, the shapes and sizes, everything this store entailed fascinated and distracted Calvin. As they entered his face lit up and he walked slightly away from Isabel, leaning forward and browsing the selections of which he had no idea the uses of. Two cats hopped up onto the table, one young looking tabby cat, slightly pudgy, and a long, large older looking tan Siamese. The Black cat from the window also leapt from the wooden window sill and scuttered across the floor boards before hopping onto the wooden counter. Calvin approached the counter steadily, standing behind Isabel. A voice echoed through the empty store.
“Hold your horses misters and missies I’m on my way!”
Calvin looked around before noticing an archway behind the counter. It must have led to a back room where the voice came from. There was no door so some of the room was visible. The floor was made of stone, not covered by wooden floorboard, and looked considerably bare. However there were some shelves aswell as a stairs leading down into a cellar. The cats on the counter lined up and meowed at the kids. Calvin smiled and clapped lightly. Heels could be heard clacking against the stone cold flooring for a moment, before a woman turned a corner and in through the archway, standing behind the counter. She had long black, wavy hair that curled out near the ends. Her fringe was held back off her forehead and a few grey hairs could be seen curling out, not from old age but most likely stress. The woman was oddly dressed, a thin black collar-like necklace around her neck, a blue gem in the center. Light short sleeved robes, stripped a deep purple and wine red color, the stripes trimmed by a dark gold. There was a tight brown leather belt tied at the waist, a similarly designed skirt triangularly cut at the end. Finally she had big brown boots, that seemed to slightly curve at the tips.
“Yes Yes Yes, welcome to Vlecka’s, I am Vlecka.”
She noticed Calvin and Isabel standing in front of her from the other side of the counter. Children, in a store like this?
”My my! How may I be of assistance?”

Chelsea heard her named called in a familiar voice. In the past, she would have reacted with glee and full on excitement. But now, she reacted the way she had been reacting to everything else recently. By doing nothing. She simply kept walking. It was strange not feeling any emotions towards Kelvin, but she couldn't seem to summon any. Guess that was a part of dying inside. She felt like she should turn around and jump into his arms, but simply couldn't. It would upset her, if she could feel anything. It was very strange.

While Vlecka was arriving, Isabel set herself to watch the cats. More specifically, the black cat with the green eyes. That cat alone of the ones on the counter wasn't meowing, just staring up at Isabel, sitting back as if he owned the whole counter. Isabel cocked her head to the left side, and watched as the cat did likewise. The cat then stood, yawned, and jumped down off the counter with all that feline grace. It was then that Isabel noticed the arrival of Vlecka and her queer, slightly curved boots that the cat was currently circling. Isabel's eyes traveled up, taking in the woman's curious outfit. Assistance... Yes, that would be great. Prodigy though she was, the sapphire-haired girl doubted she would be able to find an elder magic tome amongst all these books. "Umm... Yes. You don't happen to have any middle-power elder magic, do you?" What was the name of the tome her teacher had told her?
...
Or at least the translated one... Aha! That was it! Eclip--- No, that was a higher-powered one... Something to do with the moon... Moon... Lady Luna! Like her sister used to call it! Luna. Yes. The name just radiated dark power, like Flux. "I believe it's called Luna. Do you have that?" The cat was staring at her again, this time from Vlecka's shoulder. How on earth had he got up there?

Vlecka stared down the two youths. It was rare to see youth interested in books, in knowledge. Her eyes glowed a deep gold, a very interesting look. It came as more of a surprise when she heard the young girl to be a spell caster! How fascinating, in her experience of book vending she had never met an elder specializing teenage girl! She grinned and guffawed aloud. The cats on the table seemed to mimic her laughter with meows, excluding the black cat circling her feet who tossed her green eyes into heaven. After coughing off her guffaw the woman stared back at Isabel, the fierce young female. Her gaze did not even shift to the blonde boy standing behind her.
“Fascinating my dear, simply fascinating! Perhaps I have a tome buried somewhere amongst the abyss of books.”
Searching for a dark tome could take days, a name would be much easier to find. Calvin just stood behind Isabel and stared at the cats humming silently to himself.
“Kitty kitty kitty…. Hmhmhmhm… kitty cat.!”
Vlecka tapped her fingers against the heavy counter impatiently. However it was an impatience of curiosity, wanted to hear the girls request. Her eye seemed to sparkle upon hearing the words.
“Dearie me, such an odd request. Let me check.”
The woman wandered into the back room and downstairs into the cellar.

How was that an odd request? The woman ran a magical bookstore for Pete's sake! And who on earth was Pete, and what did his sake have to do with anything?! Isabel sighed, and leaned back on the counter, sending two cats jumping off to make room for her elbow. While large, the sheet number of plants, books, and cats made the place feel tiny... And then she felt something swish against her arm. The sapphire-haired shaman turned, and found herself staring into bright, intelligent green eyes. For a minute the cat and the shaman stared at each other. Isabel wondered how the cat had gotten back up here so quickly, when he had clearly gone off with Vlecka just a moment--- But wait, there he was, coming back through the passage Vlecka had disappeared into. So this was a different cat...
This cat wasn't quite as large as the other, Isabel noted. This cat's coat of midnight-black fur was sleek and showed the still-developing muscles of the cat, in contrast to the other who was full-grown. They shared the same intelligent green eyes and the smug look of owning the place, and Isabel briefly wondered if the two were related. Then the young cat was on top of her, curling up into her hair. "What the..." Isabel started, and then stopped. He felt like a furry, warm, heavy hat. Cool.

Kelvin's heart shattered. The woman he loved had just ignored him. No, it couldn't be that. Yet, she had clearly heard him and had kept walking. There had to be a better explanation. There just had to be. He moved through the crowd pushing people aside, receiving a few angry grumbles and dirty looks along the way. He finally made his way up to Chelsea and, grabbing her by the shoulders, turned her around. If ignoring him had shattered his heart, the look in her eyes ripped those pieces forcibly out of his chest. She almost seemed dead, or at least not all there. Something had happened to her and it almost destroyed Kelvin to see her like this. "Chelsea... it's me, Kelvin. I'm back," he said tenderly, trying to evoke any response he could from her.

Chelsea stared up at Kelvin without really seeing him. She knew he was there, his face looking down at her. And yet, she couldn't focus on it. She just kept staring, as though she could see right through him. She knew his hands were touching her, yet she couldn't feel the warmth she once had. In fact, now that he was holding her, her body even seemed to stop working. Her legs started to shake slightly, as if they would give way soon, and her head fell limp onto one of her shoulders. She was slowly able to open her mouth as if to say something, but nothing came out. It was if she couldn't control her body anymore.

Calvin looked over to Isabel. She let out a sigh and leaned forward on the counter. The two cats who were still on the counter jumped out of the way and onto the floor making room for Isabel. They hissed silently since they had not wanted to get down. Calvin still smiled, he loved animals, most of his childhood consisted of talking to them, and for all of his childhood, they had to suffice as his friends. Calvin noticed Isabel turning and he too turned only to notice another black cat! He and Isabel stared off, Calvin’s eyes quickly losing interest and examining the store some more! Calvin then heard footsteps and his eyes curiously face the archway behind the counter. Vlecka was coming back, the black cat following her! Calvin then examined Isabel, and released a smile as the cat climbed onto her head. He then realised there were two cats! Isabel was also surprised so Calvin chuckled. Then Vlecka arrived through the door and banged a heavy book onto the counter, blowing some dust upon impact.
“I think I found it dear, luna, tome of elder magic!”
She then saw the cat on Isabel’s head, she was… speechless. However a smile creeped its way onto her face.

As Vlecka returned with the tome Isabel had requested, the shaman didn't react at all for a moment. She was just looking up at the little bit of the black cat she could see, and held this pose for a good terry seconds before speaking. "Your cat appears to have attached itself to my head." the sapphire-haired teen said in a near-monotone, and then snapped back to reality. "Does he do this to everyone? Oh... Right, the tome! Thank you! Let me see... How much will that be?" Isabel asked, already attempting to retrieve the money in her bag with the cat still attached to her head. A feat which was... Surprisingly difficult.
The cat in question swiveled his head, looking about the room. He stared first at Calvin, then at Vlecka. All the while he kept his perfectly still pose on the blue hair, despite the movement it's owner was making. A small purr emanated from the green-eyed feline, accompanied by a little flick of it's tail.

Chelsea fell limp in Kelvin's arms. Her mouth dropped open a little as if she were about to say something, but no words came out. Kelvin's heart nearly ripped itself out of his chest. This was terrible. Chelsea was nearly comatose and he didn't even know what was wrong. In her condition, wandering the streets like this was dangerous, and he needed to get her inside. He picked her up in his arms and headed in the direction of the inn he was staying. She was surprisingly light, which wasn't surprising given the condition she was in. Still, it worried him greatly. He finally made it back to the inn and went straight up to his room. Trying not to attract a lot of attention. When he got up there, he placed her down on the bed and pulled up a chair that had been sitting in front of a small wooden desk. "Chelsea...." he said tentatively, not really sure what to say or what she would respond to. "Chelsea... what.... what happened to you?"

OOC: Sorry Tana, it's been too long. We'll have to do it as a support whenever you get back.
IC:
He'd done it. He'd finally set his past to rest. Now, that child was dead, he could rest in peace. Those actions would torment him no longer, all that was left now was to press on. When he thought about the innocent life he'd nearly ended before it began, he'd almost broken down right there. But he'd stayed strong, and she had supported him, as she always did. He was quite thankful he hadn't seen Kenshin, because in truth he had never wronged Kenshin. There was no need for them to meet.
As he walked the streets of the town, he opened his eyes and took in all that was around him. It was a lovely place, look what people could create with a little time. He was so pleased right now. For the first time in seven years, life felt good again.
And then he heard something. People spreading rumors. Green cloaked man...killing priests? His eyes snapped open for a moment as he realized what they were talking about. Hells! She hadn't gotten into trouble, had she?! He kept his eyes open and began frantically sweeping the streets for Jya. That was a waste, he could never spot her if she wanted to be hidden.
