Jya's desperation to find her friends was somewhat futile as she met with another dilemma. She was being chased by children or at least being followed by them. She hardly believed they were any threat to her but it appeared to be a sense of curiosity. As she turned to look at them, they all dove and took cover. Thank goodness she had her peripheral vision, it helped in trying to calculate how many of them there was.
What can she possibly do? Sure she had nothing against kids but she didn't need anymore attention than she already had. Maybe it was money! No, she was practically broke, when it came to it, she depended on the wilderness. Than what can it be? Then she found out, one of the children was brave enough to step forward and looked at her blades.
"Are these yours miss!?" the boy asked, rather excitedly. She wasn't completely sure how to respond but at least now she knew what they were curios about. Than again, why be interested in her? She was sure plenty of sword fighters cross the land. This was awfully suspicious.
"Umm yeah," she said, moving a little while bumping over another kid. Wait, where did this girl come from? Instinctively she reached out into her pockets to check her money.
"You guys... really?" she asked questionably, directing her question to all of them. The curious boy that had grabbed her swords seemed to have disappeared while she focused on the lone girl that had taken what little she had. Gosh! She never really get paid for killing anyone, making money even more difficult to make money! She could only get what she scavenged and now what little she struggled to make was being stolen by a little girl.
With those thoughts, the chase began. Jya wasn't sure if she was giving it all but the kid was giving her a run for her money. They were rushing past one another through the streets. She almost shouted 'thief' when they got into a more populated area but she found that it would be like a sign of weakness. She remembered these sort of chases a few years back. It was somehow nostalgic, although she was the one doing the chasing.
Before long the girl used her agile skills to climb onto the top of the buildings. She followed close behind, which seemed to surprised the girl as she turned around. Her lungs burned from all the exercise but she refused to give up. It wasn't enough for her to stop though. Before she knew it they were racing through the streets again.
"Give up you old grandma!" she yelled from behind. Old? Was she old? For some reason her anger spiked up even more. She could feel the blood rising to the top of her head. This wasn't a matter concerning money, it was for the sake of pride or at least to prove she wasn't a grandmother.
"At least I'm not..." she began to shout but stopped herself. She was a thief... That would be a lie if she said otherwise. Wait the opposite! Yes!
"At least I'm not a baby!" she shouted towards the thief. The girl suddenly stopped and turned to confront her.
"I am not! I take good care of the others! Something a grandma like you can ever do and look you're completely out of breath with only running that much!" she responded giving her a glare. Sure enough, she was taking gulps of deep breath.
"At least I'm not stealing from the sick and look at you! You seem as tired as I am!" she replied while putting her hands against her thighs, trying to get more air in. She was wheezing quite a bit. This girl gave a run for her money.

Valorian hadn't found Jya, per say. But he did find a part of her as he wandered the streets. He saw the kinds running about, excited over something...and one of them was holding something odd. The glint of metal caught his attention, and when he turned to gaze at it, he recognized it instantly. A sword, a very expensive and rare sword. To be more specific, it was Jya's sword. What did she call that thing? Quad-something?
Pulling out his staff, he used it as a usual walking stick and moved up to the children. "Well well, that is a fine blade you've got there." He said, and the boy looked up at him, wondering if he should run or not. But Val continued. "Is that for sale?" He asked, and the boys eyes lit up.
"It's a really cool sword! I took it from a bandit I killed!" He said, thumping his chest.
"Really now?" Val said, pretending to be impressed. "A bandit you say. I don't suppose that would have been a short female bandit with dark hair, would it?" His eyes bore into the boy, and the child's face fell instantly. He seemed to realize that he'd been found out, and the children scattered. As he ran off, Val snatched out with his right arm. The crook of the staff caught on the boys leg, and he got a face full of dirt as he hit the earth.
"That blade belongs to a friend of mine. I'm quite sure Katara and Kenshin would be very displeased with the local youths stealing from travelers. Especially since the proud people of Sacae tell no lies." He said. Everyone knew those two here, they were some of the most respected people on the plains! The boy looked humiliated and dropped the blade, scurrying off into the town.
Valorian placed his staff on his back, and picked up the blade. Hmmm, he'd found part of Jya, now he just needed the rest of her.

Jya and the child continued to argue with one another. She wasn't sure how long this will go on. Eventually, the girl remembered what she was doing and proceeded to try to stomp her on the feet. She responded with a back step.
"Ha!" she exclaimed but the girl quickly recovered from the shock and started the chase again.
"Hey, comeback here!" she shouted, knowing quite well how impossible her request truly was. The girl stuck out her tongue and pulled down one of her eyes.
"Grrr," she growled deep under her voice, still not noticing her missing weapons.

Today seemed to be a very active day. On top of everything else, he now turned a corner to have a little girl run straight into him. He was more stable on his feet then one would have thought, and managed to stay standing. The same could not be said of the young girl, who fell on her behind.
"Oof! What's the big idea? Watch where you're going!" She snapped at him. Val looked down at the child, and then behind her where he saw a familiar face. More to the point, said familiar face was running. Jya very rarely ran...so if she was.
He looked to the girl and laughed. "You robbed her?" He said, finding the situation oddly numerous. Hadn't he told her back then that you will reap what you sow? She made her life stealing from others, and now others did the same to her. A bit of poetic justice he thought. None the less, he wasn't letting this girl out of his sight. By the time she was on her feet, Jya had already caught up.
"Ah hello." He greeted her. "I found your sword." He said.

Calvin chuckled to himself as the cat made itself perfectly comfortable. Animals were so cute, he wanted a pet! His eyes remained focused on the cat on Isabel’s head as she and Vlecka tended to their magely business. Vlecka shook her head gently cackling slightly under her breath.
“That cat seems to have taken a shine to you dearie. She seems to reject anyone else, including I. Interesting.”
She shook her head and her eyes expanded focused back on Isabel.
“Ah yes the price, that will be 1700 gold!”
A smirk peered its way onto her face. It may have taken her time to find the book but the price was at the tip of her tounge.
“Come down now cat, leave the girl be!”

The cat arched it's back suddenly, hissing at Vlecka. It was not a she; it was a he! The nerve of the woman... It was unbearable. And now, what was she doing... Exchanging one of the heavy leather rectangles for the round shinies? Pah. Humans. Thinking they are sooooo great. He sat back on his haunches, flicking his tail quickly, up, down, and around in his irritation. This girl, and her male companion, had a different... Smell? about them, though. Something far more pleasing than the rancid smell of herbs that hung around the creepy one like a cloak.
Isabel raised an eyebrow. "1700 gold? That seems a... Little much, doesn't it? I understand that it's a powerful tome, of course... Here, let me see if I can't rustle up the proper amount..." As her hand went into her bag, the cat on top of her went... Well, insane. He jumped from her hair, and proceeded to latch himself onto Vlecka's face. Isabel watched as the cat almost immediately jumped off, leaving claw marks on four different parts of the shop owner's face. The cat proceeded to quickly slink off to another part of the shop to avoid the inevitable wrath. Isabel felt a pouch of money in her bag, placed it on the table, grabbed the tome, stuffed the tome in her bag, and then, Calvin in tow, made her way to the door. As she opened it, a flash of black made it's way through her feet, and the young shaman followed suit, leaving Vlecka's store once and for all.
"Well... Time to find the others." Isabel said, turning back to face Calvin. The cat, she noticed, was following along on the roofs of the houses they were passing. The cat was... Odd. He had attacked his owner... Cats were fickle creatures, but still.

Jya was glad the girl was finally stopped. She wasn't sure how much longer she could keep running. It was taking so much effort just to stand now. She let out great huffs of breath before addressing the thief and Valorian.
"Thanks...for...the...help..." she gasped, feeling her throat dry. Wait sword? She checked her blades and it appeared that her Quadkiller wasn't there. That boy! She stamped her feet in anger. These kids were really pushing their limits but she was more tolerant as she did the same.
"Now would you please return my money?" she asked. Sure enough, the girl was reluctant but gave back her money. She was smart enough to check to make sure it was her money but sure enough, the bag was filled with rocks. She flipped the sack upside down to dump out the rocks as if to make a point.
"Well, thats all I got!" the girl stated defiantly. Jya looked straight into her eyes and scratched the back of her head. She was probably not lying, she had friends and at anytime of the chase, she might have dropped the coins to where one of her friends were waiting to pick up, the color of the pouch vouched for that idea. By the looks of her clothing, she probably had no place to hide it.
"Fine," she sighed before scooting the kid away. She lost what little she had but at least she was still alive.
"Hey Valorian...do I seem like someone's grandmother?" she asked earnestly more disturbed by that insult than the fact she lost so much money.

Chelsea didn't know what was happening. She knew she had lost all emotion. That had happened a little while ago. But what was going on now? She could barely move. She couldn't speak. What was happening? She wanted nothing more than to be able to hug Kelvin, tell him how much she cared about him. Wait... did that mean she could feel again? She didn't feel much... but she definitely felt something when she looked into Kelvin's eyes. Was she getting better? But then... why was she she so weak? What was happening to her? She summoned all the strength that she could and tried to focus. She was able to slowly open her mouth and let a single word escape her lips. "Kel...vin..."

Valorian watched the exchange with a small amount of humor. And then the little girl ran off, leaving just him and Jya.
"And so the thief is robbed, not so fun to be on this side of it, eh?" He had a smile, but he couldn't resist the urge to poke a little fun at her. He looked at her, and saw that she did not look well at all. "You ok? We should probably get you something to drink. Running so much isn't good for you in your condition." He stated, offering her both her blade, and his arm to support her if she required it.
"Grandmother? Did she really call you that? Wow, what a rude batch of children. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but you're my age Jya, barely twenty. You are barely old enough to be a mother period." After saying this, he seemed to find something in the other direction very interesting, as he refused to look directly at Jya.
"I've finally finished what I came here for. Have you seen the others?"

Jya opened her mouth to reply. It was more exhausting than fun, yet she found the experience awfully refreshing. She was probably just over thinking the whole ordeal. Sure her body was exhausted but she still felt light.
"I guess, it wasn't too bad," she said, gingerly taking hold of her blade. It felt nice to have the comforting grip under her hands and placed it back in her arsenal. Than an idea formed. If she was about the same age as Valorian than...
"So basically you're saying you're like a grandfather! Ha!" she snapped her fingers to indicate that she got it. Yes, it made more sense now. She now understood the insult with Valorian's help.
"But anyways, the others are probably shopping somewhere, that reminds me, I still need to get this blade repaired," she said, indicating to her Lancereaver. Perhaps the blacksmith wouldn't mind doing it in exchange for the few things she had on her. Actually, if needed she'll get the money one way or another.

Valorian chuckled at her remark. "Well, people have said that I act like I could be a grandfather. Though I don't really look the part." He said, smiling. "Still, maybe some day...when all of this ends. Who knows?"
It was an awkward topic, but he couldn't deny that it was something he'd been curious about for some time. "What about you? Do you see your life heading in that direction?
Seemed a foolish question to ask someone who survived through theft and murder, but she was just as human as anyone else. Maybe the girl had more dreams of the future then he'd assumed. To spite the default awkwardness of the conversation, he stuck with it. Still though, he began walking towards the smith, so at least they had a destination for their walk.

Calvin and Vlecka stared up at the cat who arched his back and hissed sharply at Vlecka. Isabel reached into her bag to get her money when the cat launched itself at Vlecka! He latched himself onto her delicate face and a long shrill shriek escaped her lungs as she attempted to pry the little creature off of her. Calvin’s eyes expanded, a little frightened, however he didn’t seem to show much else of a reaction other than thinking to himself “uh-oh…”. The cat leaped off immediately as Isabel glanced up. Scratch marks were left jumbled no different parts of Vlecka’s face, Calvin snickering a little bit before shoving back in and forcing out a frown to seem sympathetic. The cat scuttered away and Vlecka stared at him menacingly as if telling him to get out. Calvin thanked Vlecka, her attitude came to a sudden change forcing away a snarl she made sure to be nice to her customers!
“My pleasure dearies, good luck do come by again now.”
Calvin followed behind Isabel outside the store. Calvin smiled as light shone upon them as they entered the streets again, he didn’t realize how much dimmer it was inside the store. Calvin followed obliviously alongside Isabel, unaware of the cat upon the roofs. He just nodded to Isabel’s statement.
“Yea, I can’t wait to get going!”

Isabel stopped walking for a moment, and then watched as the black cat leapt gracefully onto her shoulder from a low-hanging roof. He curled his tail partway around her arm before jumping down to the ground, and there he sat, staring up at Isabel and Calvin in a seemingly impatient manner. The shaman smiled a little at the cat, and then let go of Calvin. "All right, let's see... We're in an unfamiliar town, all by ourselves, looking for two or three people. We have no knowledge of what the people here are like. Now, anyone else would recommend caution, but hey, I just shortchanged a witch. I vote we find Valorian as quickly as we can. Alternatively Jya or Tara. Sound like a plan?" the sapphire-haired shaman said rapid-fire, allowing no chance for any interruption (not that Calvin or really anyone would want to interrupt her; people who interrupted her didn't or couldn't appreciate her status as a prodigy!) as she spoke.
And with that, Isabel took off once more, this time with the cat padding quickly along beside her left foot. The shaman wondered whether or not he would continue following her or if maybe he was just coming along to make sure the witch didn't cone back and attack them... Or maybe he just felt comfortable around them... Or maybe he recognized her as a prodigy and hoped to learn from her about magic! But what use would magic be to a cat...?

Calvin almost bumped into Isabel when she came to a halt, but he managed to brake. Her head peered up to the cat and Calvin’s head darted from side to side trying to find what Isabel was seeing. He scratched his head curiously unbeknownst of the cat gracefully moving across the rooftops. When the cat leapt to her shoulder from a low-hanging roof he got a fright and stepped back for a moment before realizing it was a cat! The cat jumped to the floor add stared up at the, when Calvin was freed from Isabel’s grasp he clapped anxiously.
“It’s the kitty! Meow kitty cat!”
Calvin chuckled silently. Isabel spoke and Calvin’s ears perked, silencing himself to listen. Apparently Isabel had jut shortchanged a witch? Hmmm… Calvin wondered what that meant…
---Back at Vlecka’s---
Vlecka flicked her hair back, he face now with a few bandages covering it. She sighed with relief happy to get rid of that dastardly cat. She pulled out a stool from under the counter and sat down before coughing in preparation. She pulled Isabel’s pouch across the table and untied the twin emptying the few coins onto the table. Her fingers pulled them to the other side of the counter as she counted.
“AHEM AHEM! Let me see, 10, 20, 30……. 100!”
She then realized the coins were at the other side of the counters and shook her head in disbelief deciding to re-count them.
“10,20,30…..50!?!”
Her eyes darted around the desk, it was all there was…
“DASTARDLY DEMONS! I’VE BEEN SHORTCHANGED!”
---Back to Isabel and Calvin---
Calvin was just excited to get to play in the snow, he wanted to find his friends as soon as possible and MOVE OUT! Calvin followed behind Isabel obediently, the cat padding quickly alongside her. There was some sort of resemblance here… Calvin couldn’t quite put his finger on it, but he was excited to have a kitty with them! He looked forward to playing with him later!

Jya was truthfully very puzzled by the question. It seemed so difficult to picture herself alive for more than a week at a time. Sure it was perhaps her lack of self-esteem in such an instance. She bit down on her lower lips to help her think.
"Maybe I can get a nice house out in the woods," she answered, saying the first thing that came into her mind. It wasn't long until she found the Blacksmith's shop. The man was what you'll expect from one who worked the forge. She knocked against the wood to attract his attention and sure enough he responded, indicating for her to move forward.
"Sir, could you repair my sword?" she asked with a somewhat puzzled look. She took out the blade for him to look over. The blacksmith took it in a gentle motion and examined the wear. He only gave a nod.
"How much would it be?" she asked, tugging into her pockets, she could only salvage two bent coins.
"Its a nice sword, I wonder why a girl like you would have it," he said, ignoring the little money she had in her hand.
"Just come back in a short while and I'll have it ready," he said, with no indication to the price.
"Ok... so Val, I guess we better find the others to move out?" she asked, a little unsure.
