Valorian arched an eyebrow at Calvin's enthusiastic response. Friends forever...when they'd known each other maybe a month. Ok, he took back what he said before, he was never this naive. Calvin was...well he honestly wondered if he was all there. He seemed quite mad sometimes.
"Sacae, eh? You aren't a nomad, though I guess even Sacae needs stable farmers and such." He remarked, then listening to Calvin's question. "I'm actually from Bern. Middle of three brothers." He said, and he thought on his family for a moment. His eldest was dead, but he had no idea the fat of his younger brother. What had happened to his family in the Bandit War? He'd never gone looking for them, he'd just pretended to be dead.
Maybe that was for the best now. It had been seven, nearly eight, years since his disappearance.

Kelvin smiled as Chelsea said his name. "Yes... it's me, Kelvin. I got your note and came back as fast as I could. I'm here now and I'm not going anywhere, not again," Kelvin said calmly, a soothing look in his eyes. He ran his hand along her face. She didn't feel sick, but he already knew the problem wasn't physical, but he still wasn't entirely sure what was wrong. All he could do know was hope for her to get better and stay by her side.

Jya was surprised that Isabel cared that they were entering this certain herb store but she decided it might be best not to press on such matters. She nodded for her response before turning onto another street. Now they had to find another store for her medicines, one that she didn't get into trouble with.
"You got all you need for the cat, although we should be various of it... I heard cats are far more intelligent than a dog, but untrainable because they choose not to listen," she warned Isabel. She heard it somewhere, although the exact location was unknown. She meant no harm and wasn't sure if the information was true.

Engrossed as she was on her book once again, Isabel didn't hear a word of what her assassin friend had just said about cats being untrainable or any of that. "I'm sorry, I wasn't listening. What did you say?" the shaman asked, finishing the paragraph she had been reading detailing some of the effects of the spell. Complete with violent drawings! Gotta love ancient scribes, especially the ones with a sense of humor. Those were the best ones. The blue-haired girl was indeed quite happy she had managed to avoid going back to Vlecka's, and equally glad that Jya hadn't asked about why. But... This whole thing did bring something to mind...
"Jya, I know you've been sick since you were little, but... What kind of sickness is it? What I mean is... What's it like? Fever? Cough? Hurling your guts out? Eyes roll into the back of your head, while your head spins like an owl's? Oh, and I'm not making that last one up. My teacher got something like that once. Creepiest thing I ever saw, that was." Isabel began to ramble, before catching herself. "I mean... As your friend, I'm worried about you. And if I'm going to worry about you, I might as well know what to worry about!"

Jya wasn't sure if she should tell Isabel of all the aspects of her sickness but it was for he best if she ever came to her rescue. Sometimes the spasms were so violent that she did need help if she was to survive it.
"Alright, it's a little bit of everything, violent coughing, vomiting at times, it can lead to excessive bleeding, momentary blindness, lost of consciousness, heaving, loss of breath or incapable of breathing, muscle spasms, I think there is more but it's usually those," she said listing them rather casually. She was glad to get all of those off her back.
"Oh, it's not contagious it seems," she assured Isabel. Val stuck with her with quite sometime and he wasn't sick.

Isabel stopped walking for a moment, her mouth open in surprise, going through the list again in her mind, before shaking her head and taking a few fast steps to catch back up with Jya. "Wow... Life really isn't fair, is it? I wish I could help, I really do. So... What do you say I help in what little way I can right now? I'll buy your herbs for you!" the shaman said with a smile as she put her left arm over the assassin's shoulders. "And hey... So long as we're travelling together... I'll be here for you. And Valorian, and Calvin, and Tara... But hey. As Calvin would undoubtedly say, that's what friends are for!" Isabel smiled again, returning her new tome to her bag, where her Flux tome, medicine, money, and some other supplies were awaiting their future use.
"Well then. This looks like as good a place as any, doesn't it? Well. Other than that one place I just made us avoid..." the blue-cloaked girl rambled as they neared a store that sold herbs. "Just tell me which ones you need, and I swear on my honor as a LeFury I'll pay every last cent!"

Calvin smiled innocently as Valorian thought to himself. Then he listened closely as Valorian told him a little about his own past. He was a little bit jealous that Val got to grow up with brothers. Being an only child was no fun. With that thought he frowned.
“So cool… I wish I had brothers or sisters! Or both… Yes! I’d like to have one brother and one sister!”
Calvin spoke as if he was ordering from a restaurant, but it was just his childish thoughts over exciting him. He quickly returned to a more normal tone. He had been drawn from his original task and continued searching once again. Then he found a nice open spot, it was a large open circle area, but there were still people around giving him both space and audience.
“ OH! THERE, OVER THERE!”
He quickly skipped over to a spot in the center and his hand shot into his bag like a bullet, pulling out a rolled up carpet. In the air the carpet whipped out and unfolded before delicately floating to the ground. Calvin started humming to himself as he set up on the rug, resting his bag on the carpet and then taking out his flute. He knew he was a little better with his flute, it made him feel he should spend more time practicing his lute. The journey had distracted him from his original goals, so getting the opportunity to play was a nice break.
“Alright, we are ready set and go!”
Calvin spoke to no one in particular. He began to think about song choice, he scaled through a mind list of songs. He decided to play a song of his own. He wrote it while he was still living at home, it was an interesting melody. He wrote it while one day dreaming about travelling the world, therefore he gave it a very adventurous theme, with a fast beat.
He began playing his flute, the tune echoed smoothly through the air, turning a few heads and earning a few coins. It was a little challenging for Calvin to play but he managed to securely play through it.

Chelsea was able to return a very small smile before she felt completely exhausted. Her head sunk back into the pillow. Her eyes closed and she breathed heavily. It was if that small show of affection had completely drained all her energy. Besides that, she wasn't able to draw up her feelings again. Of course she had heard stories about people dying inside, they were all around. If she remembered correctly, it would take quite some time to be able to regain her former emotional level. Maybe even more so than others, due to her sometimes highly emotional nature. She tried to reach for Kelvin's hand, but couldn't move her body in the slightest. Her breath grew even heavier at her attempt to reach for him and forced her to stop trying. This was going to be hard.

Kelvin gave Chelsea a weak smile. She was getting slightly better, but this would take some time. "Get some sleep. You need it," he whispered in her ear. He gave her a quick kiss on the forehead and said, "I'm going downstairs for a quick drink. I'll be right back." With that, he left the room and walked downstairs. Sitting down at the bar, he waved over the innkeeper and ordered a large ale. The innkeeper brought over his drink and leaned in towards Kelvin with a concerned look and asked, "That lady you carried in earlier... is she alright? What happened to her?"
"We've been traveling for a while. She simply overexerted herself. She'll be fine after a few days rest," Kelvin answered.
The innkeeper raised his eyebrows. Clearly, he knew that wasn't the truth."If it's a personal matter, that's all ya had to say. Lying ain't gonna do ya any good."
Kelvin blushed a little and took a swig of his ale to hide his embarrassment. "I'm sorry. Yes, it is a personal matter and I'm not in the mood to discuss it. Frankly, I'm exhausted. I've been pushed to my limit the past couple of days."
The innkeeper gave a sagely nod. "Well, be careful out there. Strange times we live in. I've even heard new of rebellion in Bern. Never know what'll happen out there."
Kelvin returned the nod and finished his drink in silence. When he was done, he placed a few coins on the bar, and went back to his room. He sat down in a chair and tried to keep his eyes on Chelsea, but his eyelids were heavy and he quickly found himself drifting into a glorious deep sleep.

Chelsea heard Kelvin leave the room. Figuring he was probably right, she let her eyes finish closing. She felt as if she could sleep for day. She thought about Karina and Val. Was it really there fault? She wanted to feel remorse for how she had acted, but couldn't. She sighed softly and tried the best she could to snuggle into the sheets. Clearing her mind, she focused on falling asleep, hoping it would help. She was sleeping soundly before Kelvin had returned.
Almost as if she knew what Chelsea was thinking, Spirit nosed at her bindings until she was free. Walking from the stable, she started off towards the plains again.

It was several hours before Kelvin woke again. He was sore from sleeping in armor and rose slowly, stretching his muscles as he rose. He quickly stripped off the borrowed armor and left it in the corner. He had a feeling he wouldn't be needing it anymore. He looked out the window to check the time of day. The sun was approaching the horizon, but it was still light out, so Kelvin decided to get some fresh air. Chelsea was still asleep, so he wrote a quick note explaining where he was and left it by her side. He left the inn and began aimlessly walking through town. His thoughts drifted back to what the innkeeper had said. News of the rebellion has already reached Sacae? I wonder how specific the details are? Does Ilia know of my involvement? If so, this could cause some problems for Lycia. A Caelin knight attacking an Ilian army and killing an Ilian general? Unheard of. The Ilians might even attack Lycia.

Chelsea woke about an hour after Kelvin. She definitely felt like she had more strength than before, but still not much. She saw Kelvin's note and decided to just lay there until he got back. No reason to waste energy when she might need it to talk later. She instead looked out the window, watching the sun slowly sink and the occasional bird fly by. Wondering how long Kelvin would be, she slowly slipped back into sleep, only to awaken again when Kelvin finally returned.
As Chelsea slept more, Spirit was just about reaching her destination. It had taken a great deal of galloping to reach this spot already, but she knew it would be worth it in the future. Recognizing she was in the correct place, she started to scan the area. Then she spotting it. She clopped over to where Val's bow lay on the ground, gently lifted it with her mouth, put it in her side bag, and started back. Hopefully, it would be enough to help.

"You don't he to," Jya replied to Isabel's offer. Many times, the herbalists were willing to work out something. It felt wrong for Isabel to seem so concerned. She really shouldn't have to lookout for her like this. With a gentle push, the door opened with ease.
"Hello, how can I-" a cheery woman was cut off when she saw Jya. This was a common reaction when healers get a look at her. She looked as intrigued and curious as any.
"Are you...what kind of sickness is this...what are the symptoms?" she asked, getting close to Jya. She listed what she told Isabel and got a nod here and there.
"I can't heal you but I can suppress some of it," she responded, digging into the drawers and taking out bottles much like those that Jya always carried.

Kelvin gradually made his way back to the inn. The Sacaen air had done great for him, but he was still worried about Ilia. He finally pushed it aside and decided to worry about it later. Chelsea was waking up as he entered the room, so Kelvin sat down on the edge of the bed and smiled at Chelsea. "Finally awake I see."

Isabel scowled as Jya waved off her offer. Well then. She couldn't do a thing about it! The shaman had already given her word, and on her honor no less! So, despite what the assassin said, Isabel would be purchasing the herbs for her. And so the shaman and her newly acquired cat slipped in behind Jya, and watched the proceedings. The herbalist was all shocked and stuff, asked for symptoms, Jya listed them, herbalist goes over and behind pulling out herbs... What kinds of plants went into these herbs? Were they ones that grew locally? World-wide? Or were they creeping little plants that only grew in the dark places of the world, where light never reached? And how would that work, since plants needed sunlight to survive? Hmm. Important questions.
"So, how much will all this be?" the shaman asked suddenly, jutting her chin forward towards the herbalist. Solomon was currently standing at attention beside Isabel, the perfect picture of self-importance.
