Selk kicked repeatedly as he struggled to get the bandit to let go of his leg. Meanwhile, Aaron's attack had caught one more bandit aflame and singed to others. The pile was breaking apart by now. With all but two of the pile starting to get to their feet. Is this what it feels like? The fear that you have only a few moments to live? I can barely take on one of these guys...let alone six of them...Even though that mage has caught two of them on fire and singed a couple more...ah...
At that moment, Selk was overcome by fear and anger. Fear that he would die and feat that he'd fail his comrades. Anger at himself for his inadequacy and at these bandits for their way of life, for stealing, plundering, pillaging, and murdering to get what they wanted.
For a moment, Selk lost himself in his emotions. He only wanted to protect these good people. They didn't know him that well, but they trusted him enough to fight alongside him. To put their lives in his hands like that...It meant more to Selk than any amount of gold or fine wares. Almost on instinct his arms shifted into position and he rammed the point of his lance into the face of the bandit that had a hold on him. Blood splattered on Selk's armor and a bit on his face.
Then, as he jerked his lance back and rolled to get on his feet, now being on all fours, he heard a horrifying sound. The axe of the first bandit to get to his feet pierced Selk's armor just above his right hip and cut deep into his side. The wound wasn't a fatal one because of his armor, but it hurt a lot. Selk was knocked over onto his back again, to which the bandit that had just slashed him mounted him and jerked off his helmet.
"Tha' was my brothe' you just impaled, you stupid whelp! I'll make you suffe' for his death!"
Selk was in serious pain at the moment, and that hit had knocked him on his back, which put him on top of his lance. The bandit tossed Selk's helmet aside and began to punch him in the face repeatedly. The second hit wasn't a punch. Instead it was an axe handle smash, with the bandit actually slamming his fist clenched tightly around the handle of his axe into Selk's nose. His nose was broken and bleeding less than seconds after impact.
The first bandit that had been caught on fire had thrown his shirt and vest off to prevent further burning, and was now heading for Aaron. The other enflamed bandit was still struggling to get out of his blazing attire, and he was failing for the time being. Along with the Bandit that was on top of Selk, another was standing by and enjoying the show. He also wanted to make sure Selk didn't decide to make a comeback of some sort.
The other singed bandit had also turned to go for the mage that had burned his allies.

Malachi watched as one of the members of the group was pinned and beaten by one of the bandits, looking as thoguh he was going to finish him off. "Oh no you don't..." Malachi said as he lowered his lance and rushed past the group. None of them seemed to notice him, probably too caught up in the battle. The bandit on top of the the green armored man turned towards Malachi just as his lance pierced his chest. Malachi couldn't stop himself and tripped over the green armored man, also pushing the bandit off of him.
Malachi landed with a crunch on top of the bandit and then a thunk as he slid off the bandit. Malachi stayed in his face down position for a while, as his thoguhts were clouded with what had just happened and dizziness. Malachi blinked and got up on all fours looking over at the green armored man. He looked back over at the crushed bandit and pulled his lance from his chest.
Malachi stood up and walked over to the green armored, who seemed like a fellow knight like himself. He examined him as he kneeled down next to him; his face was badly beaten and bleeding."You're gonna be alright, now come on," Malachi stood up, trying to help the fellow knight up,"looks like you got a battle to finish."

Denzel was fazed for a second but came to his senses when the bandit leader spoke. He responded to the hands coming for his throat by slashing out with his lance. The bandit immediately put distance between the two of them. Denzel got up and got himself into a proper stance. What was that, just now. One second I'm on my horse and he's coming down on me and then... No matter, it gave me the chance to take initiative and I'll gladly accept it. Denzel lunged at the bandit leader once more.

An ally had arrived to help the downed lance fighter, but Aaron had to turn his attention elsewhere. Two bandits were stomping toward him; one had already been scorched, while the other was, as yet untouched.
I can handle them, Aaron thought, but am I willing to kill them for my survival? Yes! If they live then they'll just go raid another settlement,... and I have my own goals to complete
These thoughts took only a moment to travel through his mind before they translated into action
Aaron scowled at the bandits. Rage danced in his eyes at the selfish, tyrannical lifestyle they led. As he reached into the awesome force that was nature's magic, he crafted a particularly volatile fireball and threw it at the ground in front of the first bandit.
It exploded with an incredible kinetic shockwave, lifting the criminal into the air and back several feet. This bandit wasn't getting back up. The effort left Aaron a little weary, but hard physical labor had given him good endurance since he was young
The other bandit was rushing towards him, and there was no time to get him before they were engaged in close range fighting. Aaron prepared himself for a magical showdown with this brigand.

The swordsman who had impaled Wyatt found himself impaled, and stood only for a second before his body crumpled to the ground.
Wyatt was odd. One second there was a blur of color, the next nothing, and then a blob of color again. He could hear a voice as if coming through a crowded room. It wasn't as bad as he'd thought, even the pain was leaving him. He then became aware of pressure on his chest, fierce pressure. It hurt, it hurt a lot!
'It hurts...argh it hurts! I wish I was dead!' Thoughts swam through his head, delirious from the pain. The pain seemed to ebb away, and he felt the strength flowing out of his body. He felt his leg twitch, and realized he could feel it.
"Ugh..." He mumbled as his vision began to clear. Though shapes were still blob like, he could make them out now. Something light green in front of him, someone? He felt the pressure still applied to his chest, but it didn't hurt so bad anymore. It was sore, sure, but it wasn't the terrifyingly painful sensation it was before.

Wein cursed loudly. "Damn, I get distracted for one second and everything goes to hell!" He looked up. Selk was being assisted by a newcomer in heavy armor, Denzel was fighting the injured bandit leader, Lilith and Yaen were helping a downed Wyatt, and some green haired mage who Wein had never seen before was fighting more bandits. "They never end," muttered Wein. "We should have never come here." Wein slid down a small ledge and started towards Wein. Too focused on Wyatt, he didn't notice the bandit sneaking up on him from the side.
"Take this, ya lousy archa'!" said the bandit, ramming the sword into Wein's shoulder. Grimacing with pain, Wein dropped his bow. "Damn, damn, damn!" thought Wein, dropping to one knee. A feeling of despair shot through him. He couldn't help anybody else. All he could do with his bow is attack from a distance, like a coward. Who was he kidding? He could never be anybody. The bandit pulled his sword back out and went to stab Wein again. Attempting to dodge the blade, the sword found its target in Wein's thigh. "ARGH!" cried Wein. He seethed with pain. The bandit laughed. "You have so much fun gettin' us with your arrows, I'm gonna' have me some fun doin' the same to you!" The bandit took his sword and stabbed Wein in the other thigh. This was it. Wein was done, dead, a nobody. "I should have given up a long time ago."

Yaen shoved his foot against the bandit and pushed him off the sacaens blades. "Hurry up with that, Lillith!" he shouted, sliding out of the way of a bandits axe. "I'm not exactly immortal!" He then ducked under the mans axe and kicked his feet out from under him.
Standing, he then had to duck again to avoid a hand axe. "Damn it!" he swore. "Theres just no end to these guys!" He swore again as the first bandit stood again. Now he had to deal with two!

Aaron was locked in a life or death conflict; he and his opponent filled with lethal intent.
As Aaron saw the axe swinging toward him, he stepped inside the strike, trying to intercept the it and gain the advantage of foot position at the same time. He managed to catch the blow, but before he could do anything else the bandit quickly drew his axe back and hooked part of Aaron's arm with the blade.
"AHH!" The pain in Aaron's arm told him he'd been injured.
The bandit snapped his fist up into Aaron's chin, ramming his jaws closed. The impact knocked the mage back and he fell on his back, seeing double vision.
I don't have time for this, Aaron thought as he saw a pair of blurry bandits rushing for him with raised axes.
He concentrated on his tome and prepared to call a spell named "Blaze Bang". Aaron pointed his finger at his target and a small, spherical explosion suddenly boomed in front of the brigand's face!
The harsh noise and bright flash made him wish he had looked away; his ears were ringing. The bandit was far worse off though. He was stumbling around blindly holding his ears, and his singed beard trailed smoke
As he got to his feet, Aaron assessed his arm injury.
Could've been worse, Bandits were often vicious, but also imprecise.

Selk wasn't sure what happened. First he was being pounded to a ruddy pulp and the next moment he felt the crushing blows stop and a release of weight from his lower chest and abdomen. When he opened the one eye he was able to open, he saw the hand of a new ally extended to him. "Th-thanks..." He replied as he took the man's hand and tried to pull himself up. "Augh! Damn...it. My side...Ggrrr..." He let out a growl and a grunt from the pain. His nose was bloody, his right eye was black and swollen, and his lip was busted and bleeding from the left side. The intrusion that the bandit's axe had previously made in his armor and his side was now covered in blood.
"Heh...you came at just the right time. I owe you one." Selk then saw that their new mage friend was in trouble. And the second flaming bandit, now badly burned, had gotten his flaming vest and shirt off and was also highly peeved at a certain mage.
"I'll... be fine...Go... Help that mage, please." He spoke through clenched breaths. Hopefully Malachi would heed Selk's words and help Aaron out before he ended up losing an entire limb, or worse. At this, Selk would pull a fist-sized pouch from the undamaged side of his waist. He knew that he couldn't take his armor off right now to heal that wound, because he'd risk a much more fatal wound. For now, he'd have to take it. He reached into his vulnerary pouch with two fingers and pulled some of the thick and viscous salve out. He rubbed it on the inside of his busted lip, very painfully on his nose, and as softly as possible on his eye.
It took a moment or two for the salve to take effect on each place, but when it dissolved into the skin it worked like magic, speeding up the healing process and sealing up the wounds. At least if he could see clearly again, he could fight well enough to make a difference. Next he would tie pull the string on the pouch of salve, closing it up. After placing the pouch back on his waist he'd then pick his helmet and lance back up, slipping his helmet on as he turned to get a good look at Aaron, hopefully Malachi, and the two bandits that they were likely dealing with.

The bandit leader responded to the attack by coming at Denzel with axe once more. Guess I'm settling this here. This guy is too much, I'm gonna have to trust on my armour to keep this hit from killing me and make sure I take this guy out. The bandit leader jumped again, to make sure he put as much force into his blow. Trying not to think about what was going to happen to him, Denzel drove his lance into the bandit's heart. The axe strike had come down on Denzel's shoulder, cut through the armor there and made a deep cutwound. As Denzel toppled over because the entire weight of bandit leader was put on him for a second Denzel thought the bandit leader was going to finish him. Then he realised his opponent was already dead. Well I'm alive, but now I'm stuck under this guy.

Malachi examined the armored man; he had been badly beaten, his face didn't even look like that of a mans. He turned around as the man mentioned a mage. Malachi saw a man in blue-gray attire. Malachi then turned back to the armored, examining him for a second, then running off to help the mage.
He lowered his lance and ran towards a man who's face looked as though it had been burned. The man turned, hearing Malachi coming. The bandit sidestepped his charge, and slashed his side with his axe. Malachi stumbled, trying to stop and turn around, and fell to the ground on his back. The bandit jumped on top of him and raised his axe in the air. Malachi put his left arm in front of his face and as the axe swing came down Malachi punched his axe out his hand.
Malachi grabbed the bandits head and head-butted him several times. The bandit, dazed for a second, then started to punch Malachi and wasn't fast enough to block his blows. This is a pleasent situation that I've gotten myself into...

Aaron shook his head as his vision returned to normal. He saw the bandit turn just as a blue armored titan charged in. The bandit side slipped the attack and knocked the knight flat with an axe blow. The bandit took his opportunity to go after a grounded enemy, and leaped atop his intended victim. As the bandit swung his axe, the bottom fighter used his gauntleted fist to knock it away. They quickly exchanged some blows.
Aaron was astonished at the bandit's stupidity in leaving his past adversary such an opening. Slipping quickly behind the bandit he stomped on the back of his enemy's knee, dislocating it, while grabbing the front of his throat. Aaron wrenched the bandit back by the throat with his good, right arm, and conjured flame against the bandits neck. The momentary flash of heat against his hand told Aaron that he had burned out the bandits neck pretty good. If the bandit got back up, he wouldn't able to do much.
As the mage realized what he had done, he felt revulsion at the acts he had been forced to commit today. He felt nausea welling up in his gut and wouldn't allow himself to give in to that.
And I may not be done yet, he thought to himself.
"Thanks for the assist," Aaron huffed, positioning himself between the downed knight and the last burnt bandit coming their way. He was more prepared this time for close quarters fighting, but also was injured.

Lilith smiled as Wyatt's eyes opened and began to focus. "Oh, thank the spirits, you are alive." she sighed. "Stay here and don't move. I think this will all be over soon." she assured the axeman.
She stood up in front of Wyatt and said to Yaen, "I'm sorry, Yaen. Let me take one. I'll go after the one with the handaxe, I can strike from near and far as well!" As she said this she flipped through her tome and chanted a soft, dark song. Dark tendrils of magic spread from her fingers with the tempo of her voice. She tendrils flew from her hands to the bandit who had thrown the axe. The ropelike strands of energy tied themselves around the man's legs, tripping him up and making him miss catching the blade of his axe.

Wyatt saw something that the others didn't. Partially obscured by a rock was Wein, on his back with a bandit over him. Wyatt's vision was still hazy, and his legs still felt weak, this was just lovely.
He managed to stagger to his feet, and felt his balance shift. He'd never be able to do anything like this. He heard Lilith next to him, sounded like she just finished a spell. Not all there, Wyatt wrapped an arm around her shoulders, resting his weight on her for a moment.
"Try not to move..." He said, raising his hatchet in his slightly shaking hand. His vision was still blurry, the figures were more like blobs off color smudged into humanoid shapes, and his body was still not ready for battle again, but he had to act. Something told him he was the only one who could. So he used the rest of his strength and hurled his axe with all of his might.
It soared through the air with a graceful arc, as the bandit lifted his sword for another stab. And the axe landed and embedded...in the ground about 2 feet from the bandits feet.
"Damn...I missed." Wyatt got out as the bandit looked at who had thrown it. Miraculously though, the bandit continued to look, and look, and look. Wyatt wondered what he was looking at and surveyed the battlefield, then he understood.
This bandit was not finding many friendly faces left, and the boss was dead.
He looked as if he was going to consider stabbing Wein again, and then dropped his sword, turned and ran full speed down the path.

Malachi grabbed the mages hand and pulled himself up; almost pulling the mage down in the process. Malachi smirked "Sorry about that," he said as he rubbed the back of his head. He looked down at the bandit, then he realized he didn't have his lance. He looked around frantically for it and looked down, seeing it between his legs. Malachi knelt down and picked it up. He then walked over to the dead bandit and stabbed his lance into his face, splattering blood on his leg platings. The bandit didn't flinch, "I guess he was really dead..." Malachi said under his breath.
He looked back towards the mage, "Thanks, you really saved me there." He looked around and saw a bandit running down from path above. Malachi flipped his lance around to the blunt side, intercepted the bandit and hit him over the forehead with his lance. The bandit fell to the ground with a thud. Malachi lifted his lance up and thrust it into the bandits neck, he choked for a second, then his body went limp. He sighed and looked up at the group above them on the path. I hope they're okay...
