Looking at the female who followed him, the look was all she needed. She could feel what he was thinking and thats when she heard him say to her, "You go on with out me. Get to the Capital building. If they don't let you in, you hide. No matter what, I will find you. I made you a promise and I'll keep it. Now go." As she was about to speak, he ran into the crowed as the large man with the axe shouted out loud. It gave the time needed for those that were fighting the creatures a chance to get some serious blows onto them. His sword began to spray blood everywhere he swung. Avoiding hitting the civilians, it was a bit treaky. Victor began to see more and more of the zombies coming towards their section. Even with the three fighting, it still be to much for the zombies had the numbers and didn't need to worry about fatigue. Impaling one of the zombies, he'd lift up a bit and send it flying into the air at biggest pile of zombies to slow them down.
"These people are getting in the way. They need to get cleared out of here. Everyone! Go to the Capital!" He would shout out loud, hoping that atleast some would take his advice. As he hoped, some did. A smile came across his face as he saw the people who hadn't been killed started their way to the Capital to seek refuge. A quick amount of pain shot through his shoulder. His eyes looked and saw one of the Zombies bitting down. Taking his right hand, he'd ball it into a fist and punch the thing in the nose. It stumbled back a bit, enough space for him to strike it again. Doing a wide arch slice, his blade went cleaving through the torso of the zombie, it's upper half slid off hitting the stone covered street. Seeing it was still moving, he lifted up his right foot and sent the heel of his boot in the head of the Zombie who now lays motionless.
Blood was running down his arm as he didn't let up. He began to sing to himself his old unit's war song. "Through the Ice and snow. We shall march on. No matter the threat, we must heed the call. Ilia, stand up high. Let no one through. Swords and shields, bash on through." As he sang, he kept on attacking, but as he attacked he kept moving back towards a wall.

Yunneth was still in what looked like a forest part of the village. The town seemed to know how to make a forested area in their town look nice. It was like a natural park. Yunneth continued to run through the woods with at least three of the zombies following her. But now three more joined in and now six were after her. Though she was over powered, this seemed to simply piss Yunneth off. She steps onto a large rock and cast Flux on one zombie but soon misses. After a second try, she is able to his that same one but only managed to blow its left arm and jaw off. At least it cant eat her. But it can still tear her apart. And with five others that still have a arm or two, it seemed that it didn't matter any way. She quickly jumps off the rock then continues to run. The more she would run, the more she felt tired. Obviously due to her trained habit of barely eating as well as not sleeping, she had no energy. All she knew is if one of her companions come and see this and they say anything regarding her obvious problems...zombies were not the only ones who are being blasted. Soon she runs out of the thicket and back onto the road in the town. But only to be surrounded yet again. She grumbles and forms her hand into a fist.
"Really?! I swear If I find the person causing this, I am going to enjoy killing him!"
Already she begins casting Flux. She casts it 6 times, killing 4 zombies and missing 2. Already her tome was being used but. If it breaks, she knew she will either have to give up, run,...or bust them open like a idiot brigand. Either way...she was a dead woman.

As Butorega let out his roar he saw a man rush by. “Looks like someone has some balls”, spoke the Brigand as he rushed into his attack. He was quite surprise to see someone else other than he and Aurek charging the zombies. The guards seemed useless and the civilians were just getting in the way. The man started to complain about them.
“These people are getting in the way”, he spoke.
“Then just hit them as well”, spoke Butorega as he took another shot at a zombie. He split its skull open after two imperfect tries. “Damnable things won’t die”, spoke Butorega as he noticed the swordsman receive a bite from one of the beast. “Keep an eye on your surroundings new blood”, spoke Butorega as he moved in to fight another zombie. However the brigand was halted by a familiar sound.
"Really?! I swear If I find the person causing this, I am going to enjoy killing him!"
There was no mistaking who that was. The brigand turned around to see Yunneth fighting against five zombies. She took out three of them, but two more still remained. Butorega could tell she was running out of energy. Her face told more than she would have liked. He thought back to her denial of the spread his sister had laid out before their departure. “Foolish woman”, he spoke to himself as he rushed over to her position. He did not waste his time saving her earlier just to have her die to some piles of rotten flesh.
Butorega rushed in and smashed his axe into the spine of one of the zombies. The blow did not kill it but it had enough force to knock it to the ground. The beast fell over and the brigand smashed his boot into the back of its skull. The zombies brains smeared the stone as Butorega looked up at Yunneth. “Good to see you are still alive. Bet you wish you had eaten some of Yashi’s breakfast now.” Before Yunneth could utter a word, or a spell the brigand moved off to attack another zombie. He left one behind to grab Yunneth's attention.

Just as Yunneth was about to collapse, she saw some of the zombies drop dead. She see's Butorega and grumbles pay his comment. She didn't like his attitude. What he either forgets or doesn't know is her family trained her into this. But what could she say? She sighs and glares at Butorega as he goes off and see's one living zombie. She uses Flux on his head and soon enough the horde around her is gone. As much as she hated to admit it...Yunneth needed to stay with her allies. Soon she rushes and catches up with Butorega.

“Looks like Yunneth is catching up”, spoke Butorega to himself. Hopefully not to punish him for throwing the fact that he was right into her face. But in truth he believed she would not do such a foolish thing as attack an ally in the middle of battle, but he knew she would make him pay for it afterwards.
The brigand moved to rejoin back up with Aurek and the swordsman. He shouted to the old soldier to let him know he was coming up from behind. It was best not to sneak up on someone in this kind of battle. The brigand rushed forward to rejoin the main group fighting against the horde. He was needed on the front line.

The air reeked of death and decay. Smoke clouded the air. People were screaming and dying. Zombies killed and were killed. Chaos reigned supreme. Yet Aurek didn't care. It was almost as if he was in a trance. It might have been from the shock of being in his first real battle. Regardless, it seemed as if the world was in slow motion, and Aurek could see everything. There were four fighting in the churning mass of bodies: Aurek, Butorega, Yunneth, and some new guy. Butorega seemed to be holding up the best. Yunneth looked like she might pass out. The new guy had already been bitten. There were too many people in the area. Even with them slowly trickling toward the capital building, there were just too many. Aurek could barely distinguish between the living and the undead. They needed a new plan. Everyone was going to be isolated and wiped out if he didn't come up with something. Butorega and the sword fighter seemed to just charge into things and Yunnneth couldn't hold her own. At least not yet. It was up to him to lead these fools. So annoying. he thought to himself. Everything is just so annoying. But I'm not dying in this stinking place.
As he surveyed all that was around him, it felt as though he had all the time in the world to make a plan. Even as people were being gutted by the zombies, and his cohorts were being surrounded, the world seemed so slow. Everything was as it should be. Aurek knew exactly what the next move should be. The swordsman was being backed up against a wall. The perfect regrouping point. Butorega and Yunneth were approaching behind him. The next few moments were decided. Reality crashed back on Aurek as he called out his commands, "Regroup at the wall behind the swordsman! Cut down everything in your way!" Aurek began advancing towards their new ally, indiscriminately stabbing at anything that moved. People and zombies fell before his wild attacks. His precision was improving but head shots were not easy to pull off in one move. Especially while trying to push through crowds. His shield served as barrier in the front but did little to stop the rolling bodies around him. Blood sprayed in his face as a woman next to him was beheaded by a zombie. A stab to the chest and a stab to the head quickly ended that threat.
Finally, Aurek reached the new guy. He didn't look to see if Yunneth and Butorega had made it. He knew they would. "I don't have time to learn your name!" he called above the roar of the battle. "For now, you're just Sword. Butorega, you're Axe. Yunneth, You're magic. I'm Lance. It's simple. You follow my orders and make it out alive. Got it?" Aurek didn't wait for a response. "Axe, you take front. Sword, directly behind him. Magic, you take third. I've got rear. Stay with each other. Cut down anything and everything. We don't have time to worry about anyone but ourselves. Axe, find us a place for a quick breather."
The number of moving people, living and undead, were dwindling. Still it would be tough to move in the crowd. A line could move much more effectively in this environment. The fire had spread to cover about seventy percent of the city, making a proper resting place to hide difficult to find. Before long, everything but the capital building would be destroyed. The fact that it was set apart from the rest of the buildings was its only saving grace. Unfortuantely, with the crowd of people surrounding it and the number of zombies going towards it, plus the fact that is was over two hundred meters away made it very difficult to reach. Aurek knew that was where the guards and possible assistance was located. They would all need a moment of rest before they could reach it though. He really hoped his plan worked. "Move out!"

Aurek barked out orders and Butorega followed. “Yunneth”, spoke the brigand before he began to rush forward. “Try not to get separated from the group. In chaotic battles like this separation equals death.” Without another word Butorega began to move forward. From what he could tell between him Aurek and Yunneth he was the only one how had been in a real battle. Aurek however was handling it well and seemed to keep a cool head in front of the situation. It was just what they needed. Butorega was a bit too hot headed for the situation and Yunneth was not in the best of health. The new guy was new and Butorega did not trust new so easily, or at least till he had a moment to size the person up.
Butorega began to push through the crowd. He made a conscious effort to make enough space for the shaman to follow behind. The crowd of people made things very difficult. Their screams dampened Butorega’s hearing and their useless shoving made him twitch. He was never sure if it was a zombie or a person, but the brigand was reaching the limits of his patients. To make things worse several of the people began to latch onto him. Their eyes filled with fear and their tongs crying out for help.
“Let go of me”, shouted Butorega as he socked a man in the mouth. The man fell to the ground with his jaw broken like glass. A zombie soon fell upon him and began to devour his corpse. The other leaches soon let go. Their eyes filled with horror as Zombie turned its attention to the bandit. “Lifeless Bastards”, shouted Butorega. He had no intention of killing the man, but these monsters made every movement count. Butorega gripped his axe with both hands and swung with all his might. He was no longer aiming for the head, nor was he aiming for the body. The blade of the axe found itself in the zombies neck as the brigand sliced through the rotten flesh. It was easier to hit the neck as the zombies did not defend it. The main problem was getting stuck, but with both hands Butorega could power through. The only fault with this was the amount of energy it took to do the attack.
Butorega eventually made his way to the wall. He was not sure if Yunneth was behind him, but he knew his words would not fall on death ears. Aurek began to bark new orders. He renamed everybody according to their weapon and moved them to strike against the enemies. He gave Butorega the job of opening the way. Fitting thought Butorega. He was always best on the front line. As Aurek decreed Butorega followed. He rushed into the crowd swinging his axe like a mad man. Man or beast , it did not matter. If it was in front of his path Butorega smashed threw it with his axe. He did not even bother to aim for the head. He swung towards the upper body knocking anything in his path out of the way. If the zombie was alive his teammates would finish it off as they passed. His only job was to find and opening and force their way through it.
As Butorega cut his way through he noticed a house that seemed to be a good distance from the others. Though calling it a house did not do the building justice. It was more like a shack than a home, but the walls were sturdy. It was a perfect place for the group to take a breather. The brigand rushed forward and smashed open the door with his shoulder. He was met with a familiar scream as he broke into the home. There standing near the door was one of the girls he had met earlier. In her hand was her knife. Her sister however was missing, but the Brigand did not have the time to care. “In here he” shouted, back to the rest of the group.

As Victor was against the wall, he saw the two men from earlier coming up to him with a female with a tome. He didn't really care at the moment for what she was. The only thing that mattered was them getting out alive. When Aurek began barking out the orders, Victor raised his hand and gave him a thumbs up. Gripping his sword again, he came up behind the massive brute. He could see why he was choosen to lead. Bodies went flying as they ran. Any stragglers that Butorega didn't finish, his sword split open the skull cavity of zombies. He'd had to dodge incoming bodies from the front as they were civilians that decided to try and force for help from the Brigand. It felt like a life time of running yet it was in fact only a matter of minuets. As the Brigand smashed open the door, the Mercenary followed right behind. Going over to a window, he'd watch outside until everyone came in. And once every one was inside, he'd shut the door behind Aurek.
Letting out a small exhale, Victor hunched down for a bit to catch his breath. Victor would then go into a crouched postion with his sword infront of him with his hands on the handle. The uneasy feeling was thick in the air as his eyes went from one person to the next. "Seems like the gates to Inferno is starting to open with the undead coming up and attacking the living. I can only imagine what will come out next." Victor would say outloud.

As Yunneth ran, it became clear she was slowing down a little. Yunneth looked so exhausted. She looked almost sick to her stomach from the amount of energy she has to use. Magic users were not used to using their physical abilities like having to run long distances. Usually they stayed behind the front lines in order to use far off strikes. Yunneth is no exception. Actually...she was worse than other mages. The physical abuse that has affected her is beginning to catch up to her. Soon enough Yunneth trips and one of the zombies quickly get on top of her. Luckily it was spaced enough to where they wont pile up immediately but Yunneth needed to push it off. Like now. It began to snarl and bite the hair trying to get to her. Yunneth gave a bit of a hiss and began to fight back but just barely. Soon Yunneth pushes it off and quickly gets to her feet but only for the same zombie to grab her ankle. She was trying not to fall over. Before she could, Yunneth thinks quickly and stomps on the head two times and quickly gets free. She heard Aurek's orders and began to follow them. She began to blast any that got in her way. Soon enough Yunneth see's the house and runs towards it. Once inside and once the door was closed. Yunneth collapses and begins to cough and hold her side with one hand and her wrist with the other. Though healed, the injures she sustained from the brigands almost two days ago began to act up. Not just that but Yunneth looked worn out. It hurt to move. She began to cough and breath heavily as if she couldn't breathe.

“Yunneth”, spoke Butorega as he turned his attention to the shaman. She did not sound good and from what Butorega could tell she had claw marks on her back. “You don’t sound too good.” Butorega took a knee and began to examine the claw marks on Yunneths back. Before he could take a look the brigand was drawn away by a voice.
“Get out of my house”, a voice came from behind the brigand. Butorega turned to see the girl once more. She was still holding her knife, but extreme fear could be seen in her eyes. Butorega however did not have the time to deal with her. Yunneth was an asset and despite being wounded was a capable fighter. This girl was neither a fighter nor worth any strategic value. In fact she was more of a liability than an asset. The maiden opened her mouth once again to speak, but was quickly shot down by a death glare from Butorega.
“Here”, spoke Butorega as he rubbed some Vulnerary on Yunneth’s wound. “You are going to need to make sure you stick close from now on. You seem to have pushed your body to its limits. Few hours of sleep, improper eating habits, and lack of proper exercise has taken its toll on you. After this is over we are going to have a long conversation about proper nutrition.” Butorega rose up and turned his attention toward the young lady holding a knife in the corner of the room. She stared at him for a moment before the brigand walked up to her.
“Were your sister”, asked Butorega. The maiden was caught off guard by his question. She had expected him to take her knife, or do something quite dreadful to her. Instead he simply asked her where her sister was. A wave of sadness seemed to hit the young lady face as Butorega asked about her sister. She looked at the ground for a moment and looked up back at Butorega. The young woman opened her mouth, but was stopped by the brigand.
“I already know”, he spoke as he ushered the young maiden into a corner in the house. Stay there unless you want to meet the same fate as your sister. When we exit the house follow behind and rush toward the capitol building. That is your only chance of survival. I don’t have the time, or the skill to look after you while fighting against those monsters.”
“Wait I can help”, spoke the girl. Butorega took another look at her and shook his head.
“I doubt it, but if you are willing to risk your life I will not turn you away.”
“Right”, spoke the young girl as she stared up at Butorega. Her eyes filled with admiration a feeling Butorega did not want to be associated with, or at the very least associated right now.
“When we head back out”, you are going to need to grab a weapon off the ground. That knife is not going to do you any good”, spoke Butorega. “Preferably a spear. The longer reach will give you an advantage. Oh, one more point. Aim for the head. That is their kill spot.

Aurek was frustrated. It was hot; he was sweaty; there were too many people and zombies just running amok. It was just not his day. Thankfully there were three people he could pass the burdens onto. Honestly, with the guards running away like little children, how was he supposed to fix the situation? He would rather just leave, but the zombies seemed bent on keeping everyone in the city to die. And Aurek was bent on not dying. He needed more, but these three people were listening to him. They were his subordinates, and every good leader keeps his subordinates alive to continue making them work. So he was going to make sure all four of them stayed alive. The three got into the line just as he said, and Axe successfully found a little shelter. As the little group moved, Aurek made sure nothing came close with large sweeps of his lance. The zombies were so busy killing all the civilians, it was incredible. Blood flowed freely from decapitated and crushed people. The ground was slippery. The smell was sickening, even a little worse than how Aurek stank normally. When he finally reached the shack, he was more than ready for some rest. Of course, there was no rest for the weary.
After Sword closed the door, Aurek turned to him. "I wouldn't recommend you sing that song of yours anymore." He checked Axe to see if he would be listening, but he was too busy playing caretaker with Magic. In a hushed tone he continued on, "Don't mention you're an Ilian soldier, even if you aren't anymore. Axe doesn't take to kindly to them, and I need you alive." Aurek relaxed completely and sank to the floor to wait until Axe was done with his whole mothering thing. For a brigand, he sure was kind-hearted. And there he went, just recruiting random people. Aurek stepped in to clear things up. "In case no one else noticed in that mob, they aren't letting people into the capital building. I'd imagine all the important people are holed up in there, along with all the guards. Which means we will be having no assistance, and all the people here will die. Oh, and the fire will be here in probably ten minutes." Aurek let that sink in for a bit.
He was tired. Truthfully, sleeping was about the only thing he wanted to do right now. But not dying came first. And for that, he was going to need a little assistance. "If you come along," he looked directly at the new girl, "you better be ready to kill people from this city." Then he addressed the rest of the group. "The people inside that building," he pointed toward the center of the town, "all think they're safe. Now I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm pretty sure if we had the city guards helping us, we could finish off the rest of these zombies. But they're all hiding for some reason, so I'm going to flush them out." Now came the less than wonderful part of that plan. "We have two options, neither of which will be pleasant. First option: we wait near the wall on the edge of the city, and kill the occasional zombie that comes near us until everyone is dying in the parade grounds around that building. Then we rush the building and break in through some of the windows on the ground floor. The second option is to rush the building now and have to cut down anyone in our way much like we did to get here. Either way, we still stick with the same formation, we still watch people die, and we still get into the capital building." Aurek paused for a moment to breath. "One more option, we wait on the outskirts of the city and escape. Everyone else here will die though. And we won't get any answers from the guards as to why they abandoned the people. Or be able to make them pay." for leaving me to die. he didn't add. "The choice is yours."

Victor nodded his head first then listened to what Aurek had to say. Three choices to chose from and neither of them are going to be pretty. Standing up, he'd sheath his sword and would say. "Either wait and let most of the population die off then charge into the Capital building. Charge right in while the onslaught is going on and most likely have a crowd charging behind us to try and knock down the gates or wait on the outskirts and escape. Hmm, interesting choices. Me personally, I say we bring down the gates before everyone is dead to give the civilians atleast a chance to live. If they don't, we get the answers you are seeking Lance. But I gotta find someone that's outside in or around that crowd out their. I made a promise and I'm not going to break it now. You among everyone here should understand that since you as well are ex military."
Victor would stretch after his small amount of talking, letting the bones in his body crack atleast once. Deciding to grab his sword, the tip would be off the ground by an inch as he leaned against the door now waiting to see and hear what everyone else had to say or share. It didn't really matter to him, as long as he kept his promise was all that mattered to him.

“Ex Military”, spoke Butorega as he heard Swords comment. “I am assuming you are talking about Illia then.” It was clear to him that their new friend was, or is an Illian soldier now. He had a faint idea when he first looked at him. Armor and weapons tell a lot about a man. Though Butorega had a disdain for Illians he did not hold a grudge against all of them. Aurek was an example of his leniency, but Sword he was not sure. For all he knew sword could be one of the soldiers trying to hold his homeland of Bern in their grasp. Butorega hated the idea. He hated the thought of Bern being controlled by another nation, but he did not let that fact distort his thinking. Soldier or not Sword was ally, and you don’t attack your allies. Kill the enemy and protect your ally that was the code of the battle field.
“I am in agreement with sword”, spoke Butorega as he rose from checking on Yunneth. “My home town is but only six hours away from here. Yashi is there along with old lady Taya. I will be damned before I let these things fall upon Little Rock without raising my Axe. The idea of these monsters ripping through the people I grew up with pisses me off. No matter what the rest of you choose my path is set in stone. I am going to carve my way through those lifeless monsters and knock some heads till those fools straighten up. Those pompous nobles may not raise a sword to defend the villagers, but I will wager I can convince the guards to do so.” Butorega took a spot on the nearby wall and waited to hear what everyone else had to say.

Yunneth listened as Butorega chastised her. She simply clicked her tongue and grumbles. She didn't want to hear it. Especially from the brigand. Right now Yunneth wanted to kick him in the gut...or curse him or make him implode. But she understood his worrisome attitude...though she still didn't like it. She began to listen to everyone's plan. So...it seems no one really cared for the villagers huh? Hell even Yunneth wouldn't kill blindly...unless angered of course. But...it was too late to go soft now. Yunneth grumbles, struggles to stand up and looks at Aurek.
"...I don't give a damn about what we do. Just get it over with so I can grab a tome then find a place where I can read in silence. I have had my fill of people for one day...especially the dead..."
Yunneth was now using the counter to keep on her feet. She looked like she couldn't fight much now. Yunneth was covered in blood, her ankle showed a bit of bruising when the zombie almost got her; possibly making it painful to stand, and it didn't take a genius to see that her body had reached it's limits. Everything hurt. Even her past wounds were acting up. The scars began to ache. Though at this point it was either fight or die. Even if she couldn't fight anymore, Yunneth didn't have much of a choice. Soon she notices the Illian swordsman in the house. She listens as Butorega and Aurek talked. Before they moved out, Yunneth limped over to a chair in order to catch her breath even if it was for a second

Butorega stopped and took a deep breath as he turned his attention to Yunneth. It was clear that the maiden could not go much further, and despite his enthusiasm for bloodshed Butorega realized he was going to have to take one for the team. Of all the people here he had the most stamina, and the most muscle. He knew what he had to do, but strategically it was foolish.
“Whatever we decided”, spoke Butorega as he walked over to Yunneth. “You are not going to go far the way you are.” Butorega took a moment to look at her ankles and examined the exhaustion on her face. It was clear what he had to do, but in truth he had no idea how she would responded, but then again people usually responded well when they are in near death situations. “Ok”, spoke Butorega as he exhaled a lot of air. The brigand lowered to the ground and moved his hands into an appropriate position.
“Alright Yunneth go ahead and grab on”, spoke the Brigand. “Till we reach whatever destination we decided on you can ride on my back. Thus you don’t need to run around and I don’t have to worry about you falling behind. I move you shoot”, spoke Butorega.
